Now that I think about it, a lot of characters from Azumanga Daioh are like the ponies. Pinky is like Tomo in the crazy part, and Rainbow is like Tomo in the jerkiness part. Fluttershy is like Sakaki in that she's quiet most of the time, but opens up to cute things. Yomi likes fancy things, similar to that of Rarity. Kagura is a tough girl, much like Applejack. And I suppose that Chiyo is like Twilight, since they realize how important friendship is at one point.
