  • I liked DOS 6.2 myself, we didn't need Windows!

  • @wls91 we don't need windows now either. You could run a current text-mode linux.

  • 0:17 SEE HER FACE! :D

  • 0:16 SEE HER FACE!!!!!!

  • Hmm. I'm a Mac user, but I AM longing for windows. What do you people think?

  • @WollyhoodStudios we don't think. Microsoft does that for us. Haven't you noticed ? :)

  • @phoxetis Heh!

  • @WollyhoodStudios you'll long to turn it off right away and through it out the window. that's how my pc computers made me feel along my 16 years with windows, before switching to mac.

get Paralells or VmWare and try windows on your mac. if you like it, you buy one.

  • I use Windows 3.1 in VIrtualBox, and the mouse is crap. I have to move it so slowly! :(

  • honestly, no one who knew nothing about computers would of ever double clicked a file to open it would they?

  • @Fishheadofdoom they probably would have been tapping the screen XD

  • those times were easier.......... now to use windows is a pain in both heads

  • that woman would be dead by now xD

  • Might as well spill the coffee on the keyboard, you're just going to see the Microsoft Blue Screen of Death next, anyway.

  • mierda si alguien me diera esa computadora aora le habiento con ella!

  • and that makes her amazed i aint even amazed by the new mac's now imagine them puttin 'an aluminum imac preloaded with 10.7 lion on her damn desk she would die

  • Whats' that 75 years old chick sitting on my computer !!

    don't touch my porn!!

  • Whats' that 75 years old chick sitting on my computer !!

    don't touch my porn!!

  • Been thinking of going back to millenium edition/2000, figured since then it's just been extra "flash" and stuff you really can do without anyway, right?

Damn processor getting clogged with graphics and services I'll never have any damn use of. Of course there's the security bit to consider though..

  • @Emptrapzor I think you should check out what happened since then. Windows 2000 was a good OS but you may have forgotten about what "we" didn't have back then. Security wouldn't be your main problem, it's drivers (Wireless, Serial ATA, USB 2.0) that may not be available. Then comes a load of programs that will not run anymore on the platform. As for ME, I can't think of any reason to install that, seriously ;)

  • @phoxetis Yeah, it's possible I wasn't 100% serious about that post.. hehe :P was just going through a bunch of these old ads and got a bit nostalgic. 95 was the OS I grew up with and learned about computers through anyway.

I do agree with what you're saying though, it's easy to forget how comfortable newer systems are when they're sort of the status quo

What's wrong with ME? I recall holding on to it for very very long before the inevitable switch to XP, and nothing specific comes to mind..hm

  • @phoxetis Why, 2k supported wireless, and USB 2.0. It's normally windows xp but without luna and some crapping lines of code.

  • @phoxetis Sata works fine, and biglba is solvable after sp3. All current nvidia drivers for xp works on 2000 and usb 2.0 is a chipset issue and intel and amd support it fully on XP and 2k (as they use the same drivers,) With games you might need a fake layer though to fool them that you are using XP of the version control on the installers wont let you install. Otherwise you are golden.

  • works for you, and she fails to double-click

  • wtf how mutch had hard disc space 5 mb

  • Ah, the good old days of Microsoft Windows, when there was no DRM, activation, high licensing costs, no need to worry about online viruses. Just you chilling with Solitaire and Minesweeper and any bootleg DOS games you've installed.

  • @papalolita Starting from Windows XP all the shit started to happen.

  • Lady: "what happened? the mouse pointer doesn't move anymore!"

Guy: "oh, let me show you something. (guy presses ctrl+alt+delete)"

    Microsoft. Making it easier.

  • Mac's commercials are MUCH better

  • bet she love some annel bent over that pc

  • Primitive!!!

  • to be fair, Windows 3.11 running on Dos 6.22 is actually really stable to run.

  • A few minutes later.... She gets an error follwed by the Blue Screen Of Death. lol

  • And here is when I edit her AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove the reference to HIMEN.SYS. Let's see if it's so easy to use after that, mwahahaha.

  • @RaleTheBlade himem.sys was loaded from the config.sys file at the time. Later on (Win95+) , you didn't need to specify it anymore.

  • Yeah, but does it get porn?

  • They should've said "Windows" not "Microsoft".

  • Ha hahahhahahahaha! Show her doom and she'll freak! She was like "Whoa! A clicky thing!" And when she asked what it was later, she said "A mouse!?" and crushed it with her shoe. Gotta love computer illiterate people!

  • i wonder how much RAM is it? haha.

  • @delkhairio Computers typically had 4 MB RAM at the time.

  • @phoxetis

And if you had 16 MB, you were rich with a computer that was likely able to play a game running at 640x480 smooth and fast (like Wing Commander III or Phantasmagoria) and was about the same as being able to play Crysis smooth and fast just a couple of years ago.

  • @phoxetis I had saw a computer commercial, about 90's, and it has 512 KB of RAM.

As we know, they dont need RAM for GUI, because they have not! :))

  • @delkhairio I wonder how much RAM you have now that people will be laughing at 20 years from now? hahaha

  • @AlexanderRozhenko

Maybe, or computing may advance in the software side.

With the prevalence of truly personal computing devices, such as tablets, and the desire to keep the prices of these devices low, the trend may be more towards smaller and more efficient operating systems not requiring as much system resources to run properly while doing virtually as much work as the modern desktop and laptop.

People from the future could be laughing at the fact that so much RAM was needed in the past.

  • Oh, wow, when i press this it does somthing on that!

  • *old woman clicks the mouse*

    "OMFG, Explorer.exe not found?!"

  • 8 people are apple user

    9 with me

  • i dont get why u people hate windows. I have used windows my whole life, and I love it. If you guys r just going to say bad things about windows, and you haven't tried it yet, then stop. If you have tried it, then go right ahead, just remember, without microsoft, some business' could not operate

  • @NPMFilms54 I hate windows I've used it for 15 years. Also without Windows businesses would just use Linux. It's better anyway.

  • @Tununias Without Windows Business would use Linux that be you presuming Linux grows large without competition for the customer.... then in this case you'd hate Linux and you'd wish Business to go to Small super comfy German OS Called DOS (because Bill Gates wouldn't exist to buy it and start developing the BASIC programming language.. start the MS later...) it is already too complicated for you to read isn't it sweetheart?

  • @AtakanNW If GNU/Linux was the most popular operating system, it would be almost impossible for anyone to want a non UNIX-like, proprietary, operating system.

  • @Tununias And I am saying that you are wrong, because you are taking things out of context and out of History and out of ever Concurent and Evolving relation. ONE shall be on top and if that was GNU Linux it won't be GNU but proprietary, because ppl love money and power, because ppl abuse freedoms of others and because the good NEVER wins in real life. You sound like: " if we had those jet fighters they wouldn't need to invent the wheel back in Ancient Egypt"? this is exactly how you think...

  • @AtakanNW That's not even close to what I think. Unix split up to prevent a monopoly. Neither of the creators of GNU or Linux ever used Windows(so they would have still developed it). Without Windows, there would be several proprietary Unix operating systems, and GNU/Linux would still be free software. But without a huge monopoly from Microsoft, GNU/Linux would become much more popular.

  • @Tununias Things are what they are now because of reasons in the past, and debating (Your view) that if my mum had ballz I would have to called her Daddy is pointless. The best for you is 1 thing the best for a specific purpose is another thing and the absolute BEST is not existing. I kind of agree cuz i use Ubuntu but Heavy Business wants WARRANTY, and the GNU doesn't provide it. But I think this discussion is pointless :) I end it. All the best. It was nice talking to you ]:) ROCK ON !

  • @NPMFilms54 I have Windows 98 on my PC.

  • @NPMFilms54 Every Month Diferent Opinion :) does your Coolness ever end ! :D

  • lol i though he was going to hump her in the room

  • This is a gay commercial. And the poor old woman who acted in it is probably dead now.

  • @ioport yes most likely shes dead. It is sad how fast years are passing.. It was just like yesterday when i used to run windows 3.1

  • @sinand99 Tell me about it. My first computer was a Commodore 64. My first PC of course was a 486 with DOS/Win.

  • Yes, Xerox and Apple made it easier to use computers, when Microsoft "borrowed" from them.

  • "Microsoft Making it easier..... to watch porn"

  • they did make it easier

  • When the new girl took maternity leave we said "Get Sue back!". Wait a sec .... this guy is breaking the law! He essentially fired the new girl by bringing back this old lady! WTF?

  • i wonder how many errors came up while making the commercial...

  • Windows 3.1 . lol

  • Woman: Wtf? It moves? *clicks on thing* WOW! A NEW THING IS ON THE SCREEN!

  • @PoliticsNewsNews I have an old packard bell with Windows 3.11 (for workgroups) with loads of games, but i took it apart and i lost the stuff... BUT I STILL HAVE THE MOTHERBOARD!!!!!

  • @TheWindowsChannel

lol ive still got a commodore xD

  • then it got blue screen and crashed :P

  • The first and only ad from Microsoft that was tbroadcasted in Portugal. Great! :)

  • I haven't seen a mouse in a long time...

  • She starts using the mouse like she has used it before, and then looks at it like she has never used it

  • @MSNWindows7 yeah I noticed that too, bit odd isn't it?

  • Wow! A mouse

  • companies like microsoft hire advertising firms to come up with a commercial, then those advertising people present their idea to the big wigs, in this case microsoft, and then it gets approval and the go ahead... so i'm just wondering what goes thru peoples heads to approve and pay big money for retarded commercials such as this

  • wtf i thought xp was the first windows??

  • @lespaulrentals ...XP? Of course it's not! Windows 1.0 just started out as a graphical skin for MS-DOS and dates all the way back to 1985.

  • @lespaulrentals wat so u never heard about 95 or 98 or 2000 or ME

  • @bradfordbulls4lyf Don't forget ye olde NT!

  • @TheWindowsChannel i cant believe i forgot

  • @lespaulrentals wow, just wow

  • Comment removed

  • @lespaulrentals you used to think that? wow, i cant even imagine xp being the first.

  • @lespaulrentals WOW just wow im younger than you (13)and i know about OS/2 win 1.0 amiga and atari, and if you never heard about commodore.....just wow

  • @jackedup447 at least he's honest about it. I doubt how much you know about OS/2 for example ;) No offense meant.

  • @phoxetis

Well, I'm 13, and I know alot about the history of OS/2, and Commodore.

For example, OS/2 v2.0 and Warp 3 are the base of the Windows NT.

Windows NT was named for the N-Ten (i860) processor, then renamed to "New Technology"

  • @FutureiMacuser let's just leave it at that and read the rest also on wikipedia ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @derick1259 I still got an old i386 computer (well it stopped working a few years ago) running MS-DOS 6 and I even still have the upgrade package! Check out my channel i'll do an unboxing

  • Comment removed

  • When I used microsoft, it made it much easyer to get bleuscreens XD

    That´s why I use ubuntu nowadays :)

  • This mouse must put it in her ass

  • fuck knowing about computers lol this commerical sucks balls lol

  • If she thinks this is awesome, just wait until she discovers 4chan's /b/.

  • guys. the Style of the "make it easyer" its the same as "Microsoft Chicago"

  • HALLELUJAH!!!!

  • plz settle down, we now know you like apples but you're starting to make a fool of yourself.

  • no im not.

  • no its not.. its not foolish 2 say the TRUTH!

  • @aaroninclub

They won, they are better, go cry.

  • @aaroninclub

    n00b

  • i miss '90s :(

  • Ive used Microsoft before, its really neat.

  • What that amazing pointing device she's using to navigate across the screen?

  • Better than Scotty, first time he saw a mouse he talked into it.

    "the keyboard, how quaint. "

  • taht was a awesome advert! simple yet powerful.

  • shees like what is this thing. when she uses the mouse

  • But that stone age was amazing back then!

  • Where is my typewriter? Ooh. And what is this? I double click here, just like on my old typewriter.

  • That was a good one.

  • Windows is the best OS of all the time.

  • @PaulHong22 I disagree. But this is still better than Windows Vista

  • @Chintendoeddman I use Windows Vista Ultimate w/ SP2 and its da bomb! Then I said screw it and got 7!

  • @Chintendoeddman your a dumb ass if you think that crap on the video is better than windows vista. Its a total upgrade. Its like your saying torn up clothes is better than fancy clothes.

  • @MapleStoryHangOut Wow you are a dumbass. There is now way in the world this is better than vista. Vista isn't very good. SO I made a sarcastic joke. You seem to take things too serious

  • @Chintendoeddman i just researched vista and i agree i hate the comp cuz i use to have it and since i switched to windows 7 i was alot happier. It looks like u took the joke to seriously too huh.

  • @MapleStoryHangOut *Handshake*. Let's just forget this argument. But me personally I am an Ubuntu(Linux) person

  • @PaulHong22 I'ma let you finish, but Linux is the most stable kernel of all time.

  • Her line at the end is great.

  • and that was the last time , micro$oft made it any easier....

  • WTF?!?! A Mouse? XD

  • @AreYouCrazyAward Did you ever think some time a man should have to work on "how to make the GUI experience better". Then maybe he thought: we should use a cursor. How to move that cursor? Finger on the screen? Mmmh too expensive.

Now things seem evident. They were not at all when they were invented.

Even the page you see now, with HTML didn't come from nowhere. People had to think "how to include images", which tag to use, what about MIME and buttons, and so on. The same with a car or cockpit

  • interesting that its an Aussie ad with UK voice over

  • it is? I'm curious, how can you tell?

    Something in the video?

  • @phoxetis It's the pronunciation of the vowels.

  • lolfd

  • WHERE IS THE ANY KEY!

  • @Topgun588 SERIOUSLY, WHERE THE HELL IS IT??

  • lmao it looked like she was really struggling using that.

  • Yes Windows 3.1 was that easy. Vista on the other hand...

  • Good one!

  • LOL. When the PC comes on, she's like "OMGWTF?????"

  • Comment removed

  • that would be so lol if she droped the coffee on the computer and the guy punched her in the face

  • Bald. not balled.

  • shhhhhhhhhh

  • Maybe he has fat balls.

  • right...you sound like youre an early 90's actor from 19 years in the future. grow up!

  • WTF IS THIS THINGY????

WOAH IT MOVES A POINTER ON THE SCRE-

    O MY F-NG GOD!!

    IT CLICKS!!!!

    HOOOOOAH!

    n'oh my god

  • apple suks who likes Windows???!!! i do i use it!

  • i hate apple computers haha

  • Same here! Windows Rules!

  • Early 90's?! What? That looked like a commercial from 1981. Obviously, it wasn't, since I used Windows 3.11, but wow...it just looks so old.

  • Microsoft has pretty much owned Apple for the last 20 yrs.........when you Apple fan boys gonna face the truth ???

  • hell ya!

  • She feels so special going onto a chart lol, she was all like WTF? how did that happen? (No im not a mac or apple or linux user) Windows is pretty much the best OS.

Mac and apple think its so special with the whole fx and software and crap.

  • Its cool to be a Mac Enthusiast. But please Don't be a Mac-Fanboy!

  • Funny how Apple has less market share now than they did back then.

  • @aaroninclub

    Xerox had the GUI First!!

  • this ad is from 1992

    (i think)

  • How come they keep calling it Microsoft, and not Windows?

  • "How come they keep calling it Microsoft, and not Windows?"

They called it Microsoft back then because it was their company name that they were promoting. Back then no one really knew the difference between Windows and Microsoft. Plus this was something different to what people were used to.

  • so thats why their slogan is Making it easier, even a two year old can figure it out

  • My older brother is almost 23 when he was like, 8 or 9 that was the first computer he got.

  • Lol.

Excel popped up and she was like "WHAT THE HELL" XD.

Even though I do like PCs, dont get me wrong.

  • she was like, WHAT THE HELL becoz it looks very familiar to the Mac!

  • Good America, you have the kind of attitude us Americans need, P.S. Not saracstic
