@tanman1346 Hey man...you should give CenturyLink a call *asap* because since the merger has completed between Qwest and CenturyLink, things have improved for the better and they are offering much better services and quality for lower prices. I'm sure you'll probably be able to get higher than 10m where you're at, in fact you could probably get 40m where you're at. Just give them a call and see! It don't hurt to try.

From it's sub-standard network infrastructure to it's inept tech support, CenturyStink is a horrible ISP. My connection chokes more than a virgin on prom night. Unfortunately for me, they're the only game in town in this area.
I used to work for that company. They know they suck! But they figure if they get enough people to sign up, they make money in either you paying or in you paying a penalty for canceling before your contract is done. Most people who work for the company use cable internet, as they know DSL is slow, high priced and not as fast. In fact, I know many who went to work for cable. Sick of the complaints for Centurylink and being phoney.

Ive worked for multiple ISPs as a tech support agent including CenturyLink and they are one of the worst. They dont provide their agents with the tools needed to diagnose and fix problems and their repair ticketing system is a huge cluster fuck.
Course DSL in general usually sucks. Cable is hardly any better. Go with fiber, its way faster and way more reliable.

Friendly greeting fellow Mac user. I've only used Mac for 20yrs. All condition being optimal for peek performance, cable and DSL are comparable in relation to download speed. These people complaining about slow speed must own basic config PC's literally manufactured 15-20yrs ago. Today's modern computers come standard with 1or 2Ghz cpu, 2gb ram memory, bus speed with 32 or 64 bdp. This type of technology designed into today's computers are more then enough to surf the internet extremely fast.
I live in the 28501 zip code in North Carolina. I have the some annoying occurrence. Another issue I have with CenturyLink, the fastest DSL service offered in my zip code is 3.0mbs for residential. Other zip codes in North Carolina are being offered up to 10mbs for residential DSL. It makes me feel like I'm being treated unequal, even though my money is helping to sustain this company. When another ISP offers faster residential service in my area, I am going to leave CenturyLink like last week.
I get the impression the majority of web sites you visit are comprised only of text. Downloading those types of websites don't require, what in this day and time, is considered a fast internet connection speed. If you visit web sites were you have to download Mp3 files, images, video, do gaming, or what to upgrade one or more of your installed programs, I would recommend getting a cable, DSL, or Fios connection to really enjoy your web surfing experience.
