thise reminds me of another anime that was made into a live action comedy movie and the main person was a teenage boy and he has silver grey hair to his shoulders thise movie was set in the city and the young guy hung out with a dark haired girl the guy kinda looked like Kadaj in Final fantasy their was a trailler on you tube years ago that showed you him in a taxie cab in New york i think forgot the name of the anime and the boy can anyone help out

Why does his hair looks like Dante's from DMC? (O.o) And wasn't he supposed to have GREEN eyes --erm-- eye. That's, like, his main thing, apart from his hair color, that makes Ginko unique. I really liked him in both anime and manga, but here... nah-uh. Besides, they should've chosen some other actor other than Joe Onigiri --sorry-- Odagiri, but that's just me. (^.^)

I think part of what makes the anime Mushishi so great is the wonderful atmosphere each episode creates - I'm just not sure the movie could replicate that

I have to admit, I did like the quiet atmosphere of the film and the subtle soundtrack (I still prefer the anime soundtrack) and how the movie incorporated bits and pieces of the anime. I just think that it could have been loads better.

Never read Mushishi, and don't know anything besides that the movie was directed katsuhiro otomo, but considering who he is, that's enough for me.

definately gonna need to check this out, otomo directing live action is...quite a change.

Saw this at the S. D. Asian Film Festival. It needs to be handed to an editor. Otherwise it is a high quality movie with great acting. Better writing/editing would bump this way up as it has potential.

I did not like this movie at all. They changed waaaaaaay too much, Ginko was completely out of character about the entire way through, and the acting was awful.

Had to reply, because I so strongly agree. I really loved Mushishi (beautiful, peaceful, contemplative, and more) and it's in my very similar top three along with Haibane Renmei and Kino's Journey :)

But I guess that doesn't add to the discussion about the movie - I'd like to hear more about it, though this trailer didn't really excite me.

it was an amazing movie for a live action based on an anime! there was even parts of it that weren't in the show too so it was amazing seeing some things that we never got to see in the show i don't remember exactly but i believe there were two parts like that, I also wanted to agree about Kino's journey (just started that one) and haibane renmei
