I wonder it scientists have studied the actual movement of the dance and tried to determine if there is a pattern to them. In general, when communicating the same information individually and several bees to others .. hmm wow so interesting!! I LOVE NATURE and GOD (Jehovah, YHWH) IS AMAZING!!
They have. They speculate that the direction the bee dances to, is the direction the hive should go. Also, the intensity of the wiggling determines the distance (e.i. the greater the intensity, the further the distance)
WheelChair: Boy ain't that the truth. We humans can intellectualize some awesome stuff, but not near as much as God/the universe can come up with! We've so much to learn! It's all so intriguing.
i experienced this firsthand when i was working in this house insulating the walls. a massive wall of bees about 3 stories high slammed into the house and nestled on a huge rock outside.
haha, that's cool, my professor and I did a study on something similar over the summer. He and I and two other students were testing the function of the Waggle Dance and if they release pheromones that tell the bees which way to go for food.
We tried marking them to to make sure they were going to the right feeder but it was tough as all hell to get a little blotch of white out on their backs let alone freakin numbers! That must've been SOME JOB XD
Bees can see into other dimensions. They are so small and their eyesight is so good that they can see things smaller than atoms. Google it. There are plenty of articles about it on the web.
It's only a theory. Not to be rude but it is dangerous to spread theory and call it fact.
Mistaspot1 is referring to the idea that bee swarm movement resembles a mathematical shape called the flag manifold; the flag manifold is used in 6-dimensional quantum calculations.
Because of this connection, mathematician Barbara Shipman suggested bees may be sensitive to the movement of subatomic particles. Strictly a theory, however. Not even a theory, it's a hypothesis. Believe at your own risk.
Everything is just a theory, as these facts you speak of are only relative and relevant to a certain situation, in this case the human existence and knowledge base!
I love physics! Thanks for this info. The flag manifold, never heard of it 'til now. How 'bout that Mandelbrot set stuff? Fascinating! Arthur C. Clarke, you probably know what I refer to.
That's fantastic they have a dance competition to sway the vote. That must take some doing numbering all those bees, thanks so much for sharing it with us. Cheers, Lesley
I only like the one's that SLAM dance! they know where the cool food is!

They actually do the exact same dancing maneuvers that they use when they're communicating where to find food.

It also seems to resemble political conventions!!

or Ron Pauls with the intelligence of said scouts being almost equivalent to the bees...

No, really the votes were fixed from the beginning with those diebold voting machines.

to get the best home for the hive

I'm so fascinated with bees ever since I found out they can see at the subatomic level.

It's a harmless belief. I don't see any risk in believing it. I understand it is just a theory.
