  • hehe I have done alot of research lol Well thanks!!! She's going to be VERY young and My question is do they need alfalfa in their pellets under the age of 6 months or Is it just better for them???? I'm a bit confused in that Part of the Schedual :P

  • They need Vitamin C in their diet mainly. It should also be a pellet food rather than a mixed (museli) style food. With pellet food there is less waste and they get everything the need in one pellet. If it has alfalfa already in, then you don't need to bother giving them any extra.

Plently of good quality veg, a pellet food and make sure you give the lots hay. They need hay, all day every day :-)

    Hope this helps :-)

  • Okay thanks Kimspigs! :) This does help. and I give them carrots, grapes, oranges, Lettuce all the time now! :)

  • This is adorble

somebody from my church has a pregnet Guinea Pig and she's going to give me one of her babies how do I train it to Be okay with me Taking it out of the cage and making it stay with me lolz and having it like me because I love them and I'm going to spoil it because of course that's me and of course exercise and give it veggies and pellets with alfalfa in it under the age of 6months and plain pellets over the age of 6months I've done ALOT of research as u can see sorry about this

  • Sounds like you've done alot of research already, which is always a good thing. You should never buy any pet without fully understanding what they need first. All i can say is guinea pigs become tame easily. Just keep talking to them and picking them each day, and they wiil soon become tame.

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with your new guinea pig, they sure do make great pets :-)

  • i have it 1 week and he is about 6 month old :D

  • I would keep handling everyday, I held Vinnie everyday and got him used to being handled and stroked, I only had him a week and he would come to when i called him.

I wouldn't worry to much, he's still a baby. Try giving him a little cuccumber to help tame him, guinea pigs go mad for cucumber.

  • when i do that,he bites me!:D

  • How old is he? I've never heard of a guniea pig biting before. How long have you had him?
