  • I just bought an accordion..and now..after all this youtube videos (that i am watching the last 5hours) .. the only thing that i want to do is to throw it from my window. It was nicer when i was just dreaming "how could it be if i played accordion"..xD

  • I will learn accordion...just for this song maybe XDD my mum knows how to play it, her friend taught her many years back :) its my turn!

  • I have just inherited an accordion of my dead grandfather ... have never tried it before, but this song took me 1 ½ hours, so some talent, I must surely have hehe

  • Salseroenelmundo. Trata estas notas. a-b-c-b-c-d--c-b-a-d-e-d-c-b-c-b--a-c-b-e

  • This is helping tremendously! I have to practice lots more to vid reply. I only have a wee accordion so am adapting somewhat.

  • Dont see the notes!!! Thts not good

  • thank you so so much!can you make more of this videos???they are really helpfull!!!

  • this is still to fast for me to learn! D;

  • I love a lot your work over the accordion and i would like to ask for a little service or aid. i've begun few days ago to play it after see your videos. I've an accordion "estrella" brand. it has 8 basses and 22 notes or marks. in resume i would like to know the combination for the accompany with this accordion for this song.

    Thanks a lot.

  • das ist aber nichts für leute mit wurstfingern...

  • I'm frustrated, I don't find the notes of this waltz. Any help?

  • Thank you, giovanni

  • @uberlifetroll agreed XD

  • Hi i am slowling trying to map it as well, im not sure its correct, but i think it goes as:

    a b c b c d

    c b

    a

    d

    e d c b c b

    a ( change hand position)

    c (with pinky finger)

    b

    e

  • will you please write down the notes for the song for the right hand? its hard for me to know if im getting it right...so far i have b-c-d-c-d-e-------d-c-b-e-------d-c-b-c? if that makes sense.

  • zmieniasz miech w polowie frazy

  • bad bag... pl- przeciagniecia dzwiekow i zle meichowanie nie umiesz grac...

  • what are the notes for the right hand?

  • @Cetnik125 I would also like to know!

  • @Cetnik125 Just look up the sheet music on google! The top part is the right hand, its pretty simple once you figure it out. Hope this helps :D

  • Muchas Gracias :)

  • accordion - is one of thing that remember me my grandparent.i remember,how he played to me when i was a little child.now - i have his accordion and the first song that i will learn is la valse d'amelie. your video is great,thanks a lot.;}

  • thanks, like so many, I also went out and bought an accordion, just to learn this. any chance in hell you could tell us the cords, as the video goes to fast for a complete beginer. Thanks for taking the time to show us.

  • i cant get the last part .. it's too fast ..!!!

  • Very helpful video thanks, but as teacher I wouldn't recommend that Left Hand fingering at all. . .

  • I am learning this on melodeon at the moment. Hope to upload sometime this year!

All the best from Australia. Hector

  • Thank you my friend for sharing this. :)

  • Człowieku ,spełniasz właśnie moje, najpierw pokochałem muzykę Tiersena, potem akordeon, teraz sam mam przyjemność uczyć się jego utworów.! :) Dzięki

  • very good! thank u!!

  • I like this. I think it makes a song much more difficult to learn and annoying when the video-tutor breaks it down measure by measure.

I will refer back to this tutorial when I have me my own accordion!!!

  • thank you very much!

  • Excellent teaching tool, please do more!

  • Hello. I would like to ask a question. I just recently got an accordion and it has those large "pedal-like" buttons next to the buttons. I would like to know what they do because I don't know. Mine only has two though.

  • To Regla007 please give me the notes friend! My @mail: ivan_minin_86@mail.ru

  • This is helping me learn it on my concertina, thanks!

  • I only have 2 rows of 6 I can't get the Dm and the Am. I guess I'll only be doing the right hand.

  • @TheRealBloum

Yeah I had the same problem until I got my new accordion. Look on eBay, youd be surprised at what you can find.

  • I play this and many other yann tiersen composings.. I want an accordeon aswell! and a Violin!

  • thanks so much for the easy lesson-- i will keep practicing and i will get it thanks to you!

  • Is it possible to play this on a 48 bass Accordion?

Mine has 4 rows instead of 6 XD would very much like to learn this osng, but im not sure if the lack of buttons is a hindrence.

  • maybe i am just musical ungifted but its taken me hours and hours to learn this dam song :(

  • @gegege7668 It take not only hour, but days to learn a song well. You should have nothing to worry about. Just keep practicing and you'll get it. Most people think all Musicians just learn a song in a few hours and can play it for the rest of their lives, but that is true for almost no one.

  • @gegege7668 Keep practicing... Some get it quickly, and some not... I learnt this song on piano a couple of months back, and I just started playing accordion 3 days ago, and I can already play this on accordion. But my bias is that I first learnt it on piano, and that took a while...

  • @gegege7668 agreed, but worth it none the less!

  • Thanks, for the vid, im trying to play it but my accordion has 6 rows of buttons with only 8 buttons on each, i can reach the D and A, but not the F and C. Any help? =(

  • dont you want to write a notes? :) its beutiful song

  • Do you have the sheet music?

  • you have no idea how many times I've seen this video, WITH my accordion folowing you, THANKYOU so much

  • Just a minor correction - the second chord is Am9 not just Am, so if one wants to play it 100% correctly must press both the Am chord and the B bass - of course this makes it much more difficult while with simple Am is piece of cake - it's my first day playing the accordion and tried this piece, but I knew something was missing from the Am chord. Very clear tutorial though...

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial. Will help me to learn to play this lovely piece.

    Best wishes from N. Canada!

  • Hi - love your tutorial!!

But I have problem, I have a button accordion - how do I translate

your amazing chords into my "button-language",

    Thanks!

  • Very good and thanks for uploading this.

  • i like the way you teach and play!..thanks for the videos , let them coming.

  • Thank you so much, this is awesome! Love this song & will post a video as soon as i can play it good enough.

    Thanks a Bunch!!!

    phoenix/clody

  • Love this song! Thanks so much for posting this : )

  • I admire you for learning the song.. This is one of my favourite songs. I never thought playing the accordion was so hard.. I never tried it , I only play the piano:D It seems way more difficult :) Good job!

  • very good !!!

  • @Romeo: if you haven't read the description, thus guy learned this song with no training. Not everyone could be as privleged as you and recieved lessons, coaching, or access to other methods on which to learn. Give the guy some credit, and no where do I see him bragging about how great he is. You are the only one I see making a fool of themselves.

  • please tell me and if you have notes of La valse d'Amelie for the accordion?

  • =).....

  • @Falwkes1

lolz lolz hence the title "how to play: "La valse d'Amelie" on accordion " its slow so people can pick it up easier !

  • wooow eres un gran musico y un gran acordeonista ts vides son lo mejor y haora logre completar la valce d amelie muchisisisisisimas gracias =)

  • I bought an accordion just to play Yann Tiersen. This is the first song I will learn. Many thanks to you, man!

  • @bean5626 same =] i bought an $800 scandalli just to play the soundtrack for amelie

  • @bean5626, I am want to buy an accordion too because I am in love with "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain"!!!

  • still trying to get the hang of it! but you have helped me out so much! great video!

  • Never, NEVER change the bellow when you play a long note!!!

  • thanks for your video but if you don't mind i wish the text for the right hand,i'm a principiant so i have problems with sincronise my hand with what you show in yuor video.

    thanks a lot.

  • Thank you very much :)

  • im sorry to have to ask you this but could you give me the letters of the keys your hitting for the right hand? thank you greatly.

  • @RomeoSOF2 Why do you hate? Let people do what they want.

  • This offends me as a muscian.

  • @RomeoSOF2 eh? why. Don't be a dick.

  • @Strevo I'm not being a dick... how would you feel if you were classified for something and some amateurs come along not doing it right...

  • its very nicely done and in a simple way could i ask you for some notes?

  • wow, that was a beautiful music I've ever heard in an accordion in my entire life.

    cool.

  • how hard is this for a near total beginner to learn??

  • I started playing the accordion two days ago, and now I can play two of the parts of this song whitout that many errors. So it shouldn't take you that long. =)

  • That's really great, I'll certainy try it. Thanks for your help :))

  • very very good.. thanks for it ;))

  • You are a beautiful accordionist... not just the song and how you play it, but your focused presence comes through even on video.

  • DUUDE!! i wanna play the accordion now!!!

  • this song is the one of the best sounds i heard in my life...

  • That is so coool. I try to play it on the piano, but I never even considered learning it on that! I wish I could.

  • I cant really see the left hand mirror-view

  • I`ve just bought my first accordeon, and would be completely screwed without good folk like yourself posting tutorials. Thanks so much!

  • La Valse d'Amelie is such a beautiful piece of music on the accordion as well as on the piano. But La Valse on the accordion sounds more playful and happy than on the piano.

God, I wish I could play the accordion too!

    Great job!

  • "weltmeister?" :D

    danke fürs tutorial :)

  • I need sheet music for this song pls

  • i love how you say musicians should help teach each other!!!!! dam i want an accordion so bad mother said their to expensive but father said that for christmas one is sure to be mine but he says a lot of things, but you never know !

  • @Victorspenis you try looking at second-hand music stores, GoodWill shops (they are REALLY CHEAP there!), or garage sales. most ppl dont really know how expensive they should be. so sometimes you might find a really nice accordion sitting on a self somewhere collecting dust with a sale tag on it. internet is usually the last place i look, you might get gyped or u might pay too much for it. just keep poking around!

  • so nice of you. Splendid! I want to see the film again! I am only at my 20th lesson and it's too complicated actually, but I keep this document in my favorites.

My aunt, 81 y/o was a professional musician.

She gave me her accordion, a Settimio Soprani, made in Italy, over 50 years old!

    Fantastic!

Thank you for this video. A great gift.

  • They are not actually as expensive as people think, I guess it depends on where you're located as to how easy it is to get to an accordion shop. You really don't want to be purchasing online or from a music shop, you want a specialist.

  • thank you! god that part in the middle was killing me!

  • me estas dando una gran ayuda , te lo agradesco muchisimo!"!!

  • Fat teun is dat

  • WTF we have a different type of accordion!!!! damn my accordion has 6 lines of keys! :(

  • well... rows or lines? If rows, then first 5 rows are the same... You have one more, but you don't use any keys of them in this waltz. If you have only 6 lines on the bass side, I'm sorry I can't help you...

  • Don't worry. The extra column of keys is for augmented chords, which you hardly ever use. You can pretty much pretend they're not there.

  • The Weltmeister Achat does not have the diminished key row.

  • hi, im learning this song. thank you very much for this video :) do you have accordeon notes of this song ?

  • I assume you have a 120 button accordion, so from bellows outward, the columns would probably be... counter-bass, fundamental bass, Major, Minor, 7th Chord, Diminished. Hope this helps!

  • To: @BlackFolkAndPiano

This is a Weltmeister Achat. It has 34 treble keys and 80 bass buttons. They left off the diminished row. (not generally needed for most tunes)

    Here's a picture at keyword:thomann.de/gb/weltmeister_achat_3480iii53_rot.htm

  • thanks a lot :) this is quite helpful!

  • That is SO cool.

  • Thanks for posting. I'll need to practice this.

  • I just was searching after this...thank you very much! You keep me a lot of free time to practise....

  • i can allready paly this song on piano i am thinking to be an accordion these things are damn expensive!

  • if you get--I think it's, Charles Nunzio's-- "Hanon for the accordion"comment do a few pages of that to help you learn how the left-hand bases and the right-hand ordered exercises go together, you really jump forward, . . .

  • Great lesson :)

But has someone the notes for the piano part ?

    It begins with A B C B C D, C B , A D and then ?

  • Thank you for this great lesson. I love the song and the Movie. You are awesome keep up the good work. I am subscribing to your stuff.

  • Thank You David Martinez (GPT) for this link.- You play just as good!

  • When you play the accordion you never see the left hand (the bass notes) So play the left hand over and over and over until it becomes second nature and you don't have to think about it. Then you can play both hands.

  • buena.

  • could i have this score?

i learn accordion for this song, i really love it!!

thks so much for your video!!

  • i dont know if the e at 4:48 is right. maybe there is supposed to be a g

  • okay i can do like the right and the left side seperate

but if i try to do them together i can't

any tips to make it easier for me ?

(+ its my first time i'm trying a song)

  • i have the same problem... : /

i cant coordinate both hands together

lets meet, you play left and i play right, lol. :P

  • okay lets do that, where are you from ? ;p

  • Thank you SO much! I'm trying to learn how to play accordion and I LOVE this song! I'm not very good yet.

  • bravo adesso provo ad impararla, ciao dalla Sardegna

  • Really helpful. Thanks a lot.

  • thank you for posting this! I would love to learn accordion-- I am looking for an instrument/teacher in Pennsylvania right now.

    cheers!

  • Thank you! This has been very helpful.

  • Congratulations and merci. You know is this material edit by wom

    Mameruso

  • Very nice! I like the really wet musette sound. Wish I had talent.

  • This is a really popular Parisian musical instrument! Everytime I hear it, i think of a scene from some European movie! :)

  • thanks a lot.

  • Thanks a lot for the tutorial!

I just started playing and am trying with this (at least with the first part for now). Could you comment on your left hand usage? I read some tutorials that suggested using one finger per row, but your fingers are all over the place. Is this the way to go or just a "bad habit" i should not copy? Thanks!

  • Roman, thanks a lot for the tutorial. Though I still couldn't figure out the third part - so I am playing without it:-) If you happen to have a sheet music you can e-mail it will be great. Thanks again!

  • :( i dont have an accordian
