SRK's Devdas is an epic film in it's own way. It was spectacular.
Dev D is an extremely intelligent and artistic film...and I thought it was very different from the mainstream stuff. Devdas and Dev D are both great in their own unique ways.

I think the idea of a modern twisted Devdas is fantastic. But I just felt the film didn't reach it's full potential. It dragged on, and the film maker didn't understand the difference between gritty and artistically gritty.
i personally didnt see much more scope of improvement in this version. agreed it dragged on in some scenes, but no movie is perfect. liked the use of "gritty" btw :D. i think Anurag Kashyap did this movie best to his abilities. his other movie, Gulaal was also as surprising as this.
btw, do you see anyone else playing Dev in this movie other than Abhay? i can only imagine how comic the movie might have become if someone else played the part. shahid kapoor, booby doel are all kids for this role.

This song was shot very innovatively and unconventionally. I was impressed at how cinematic it was.
However this film itself was a dissapointment. There was so much more that could have been done with a premise like this.

i personally though the movie was great. saw it when i was in mumbai in march..
i didnt like the shah rukh version of devdas.. HATED IT!
but this modern and twisted version of the classic story really caught me by surprise.

I think the idea of a modern twisted Devdas is fantastic. But I just felt the film didn't reach it's full potential. It dragged on, and the film maker didn't understand the difference between gritty and artistically gritty.

i personally didnt see much more scope of improvement in this version. agreed it dragged on in some scenes, but no movie is perfect. liked the use of "gritty" btw :D. i think Anurag Kashyap did this movie best to his abilities. his other movie, Gulaal was also as surprising as this.
btw, do you see anyone else playing Dev in this movie other than Abhay? i can only imagine how comic the movie might have become if someone else played the part. shahid kapoor, booby doel are all kids for this role.
