As someone who's been in the business for nearly 20 years, this bouncer did an excellent job. He DID NOT have him in a choke hold past the initial take down, since the guy was still conscious throughout, and a true choke hold would have rendered him unconscious in seconds. He had him restrained, and when he started to resist, the bouncer applied pressure. Handcuffs would have been nice, but the bouncer did an excellent job of dealing with the situation with the tools he had available.

Law states that while under detainment, all persons no matter the crime have the right to water and a safe environment. Bouncers should carry handcuffs but the business owners are too cheap to pay for the business insurance etc and the employment cost of a real security officer who is trained in the employment of handcuffs. End game is that they lack the proper methods of restraint, so we get violence.

As someone who's been in the business for nearly 20 years, this bouncer did an excellent job. He DID NOT have him in a choke hold past the initial take down, since the guy was still conscious throughout, and a true choke hold would have rendered him unconscious in seconds. He had him restrained, and when he started to resist, the bouncer applied pressure. Handcuffs would have been nice, but the bouncer did an excellent job of dealing with the situation with the tools he had available.

In all fairness, the bouncer could lose his job for his... method of restraining the man. Law states that while under detainment, all persons no matter the crime have the right to water and a safe environment. Bouncers should carry handcuffs but the business owners are too cheap to pay for the business insurance etc and the employment cost of a real security officer who is trained in the employment of handcuffs. End game is that they lack the proper methods of restraint, so we get violence.
