I work as a Teacher's Aid and I have mixed views on this. First of all, ALL cell phones should be turned off during your work hours, that's a given. Second of all, devices such as these should remain behind your work area in a bag or cabinet of some sort. However, a student has no right to touch or go through anyone else's items except his or hers unless permission is given by the owner of said item.
Was the nude photo taken in school? If not.... NEXT. These kinds of things kinda give the punishment themselves. The TA got humiliated, there's a chance her reputation will be ruined. Firing her is adding salt to the wound.
We need to accept the fact that any electronic devices can and will be used as portable closets to store your skeletons in. It's as personal as her checkbook that might be sitting inside the same bag.

I work as a Teacher's Aid and I have mixed views on this. First of all, ALL cell phones should be turned off during your work hours, that's a given. Second of all, devices such as these should remain behind your work area in a bag or cabinet of some sort. However, a student has no right to touch or go through anyone else's items except his or hers unless permission is given by the owner of said item.

Was the nude photo taken in school? If not.... NEXT. These kinds of things kinda give the punishment themselves. The TA got humiliated, there's a chance her reputation will be ruined. Firing her is adding salt to the wound.
We need to accept the fact that any electronic devices can and will be used as portable closets to store your skeletons in. It's as personal as her checkbook that might be sitting inside the same bag.

I agree that she has the right to have nude photos of herself on her phone, 100%. And that the student that got a hold of her phone should be punished. Expelled maybe? Either way, the student does need to be disciplined. But the fact remains that the photo was discovered and seen by any number of students that saw it and her position working with the students has been compromised. I'm not saying that it's fair, but sometimes crappy things happen in life. Move on and learn from the past.

The student was in the wrong. If the school district the student aid works for fires her for the picture that is on her phone. the kid, however, is probably under 18 and as such would not be legally penalized.
however, that kit should be expelled, for:
theft and redistribution of a stolen item.
in any other situation, (where the aide was not the focus) the kid would be found allready and probably expelled allready.

If you have a pictures on your mobile phone someone at sometime will see it. The teacher's aid is innocent. Sue the school if u are fired. Sew the person who stole it. Crimes: Theft, transmission of porn to minors. Police: everyone who sent the pictures to minors are guilty. Get it done.
