@bronxandrew yeah totally. the idea is to push your preamp as most of the gain character comes from this section of the amp. since its solid state, i guess you have no power tubes to push
@bronxandrew yeah it was a tubescreamer with the gain set really low and the level was set high (though I'm not certain). I have no clue what his amp settings were
Randall soild state amps kill all. Fuck Kirk Hammett. Poser never built his reputation on Randall like Dime. My Randall amps have killed plenty of posers.
I love Metallica, but Kirk gots his own fuckin amp, and doesn't show? What the fuck dude, i love Metallica, honestly, but Metallica never shows their faces at anything aside their concerts, what the fuck?
I'd rather spend 10 grand on a house or a car, you know, something WORTH that much money? Not a retarded signature series from a sucky band's guitarist
there are actually 2 Kirk signature amps, the one in this video is the Limited Edition, like the guy said, only 100 made, Then there is also a KH Signature half stack, which is completely black
I'm one of the biggest Kirk Hammett fans, but ten grand for his signature amp? Only rich amateur wankers would pay that, and believe me, there are plenty of amateurs with money who think they are pros.
Yea. Kirk Hammett is rich but I doubt he's paying ten grand for anyone's amp. When I'm rich, I won't be paying ten grand for anyone's amp. The only one in this economy paying ten grand for any amps are stock brokers and bankers. BLAH. LOL!!
I must say, the Kirk Hammett stack is beautiful. How much does the thing weigh? That wood seems as though it would be heavier than common plywood.
Ultimately, I don't think I'd want an amp like that. One scratch or dent would kill me... And you just know it would happen.
It doesn't look cool enough to warrant the extra money and hassle. Tone is what it's really about, and you can get it just as good for about 90% less.
This is a rich guitarist's studio decoration. Nothing more.
I agree,I will take the Blackstar 1/200 over this anyday.Besides I heard Kirk is going to have a Sig B.S. 1/200 as soon as his contract with Randall expires..Probably just a rumor but IMO of all the new Amp's out there Blackstar is honestly the sickest most versitile amp Ive ever heard and played in my life.3g for the whole rig and actually paying for tone not the finish.Studio decoration hits the nail on the head as far as this is concerned.lol
Yeah, Blackstar amps are awesome. I've always wanted to try one. I've listened to videos and I'm never sure if I like the tone or not. Trying an amp for yourself seems to be the only true way to know what it sounds and "feels" like.
I doesn't really matter to me I guess, as I can't afford a Blackstar.
I am more than happy with the sound of my Rectifier combo anyway. Plus, it only cost me $700 used in great condition. That's money left over for rack effects and a midi control system.
So true, you cant tell by Ytube demos, real presence, tone and pick attack responce, etc.I wasnt looking for a head when I plugged in a series 1,but sold my JCM 2000 and triple Recto heads to get one and had it about 2 weeks after, lol.Just blew me away and still does everytime I fire it up.The series 1/100 is 1600.00 which is a great price next to most big name amps. The Series 1 heads are priced right exept the B.S. Artison series.700 for a recto combo is a sick price cant beat that.
Especially considering the B.S. 45 combo is crazy I think over 2500.00,Same with the Artison 100 watt head,2800.00 and IMO the series 1 blows it away. And speaking of Midi and racks I just bought the RJM music technology RG 16 with mastermind midi foot cont.Hands down the easiest unit for independently assigning pedals, and using multiple amp stereo applications.Awesome price and worth every penny.Give that a look,
WHat the fuck? You don't need to drop $10,000 to get Kirks tone. You just have to know what you're doing EQ-wise. Not to mention if you want Kirks tone, just get the MarkIIC and the Triaxis for a fraction of the cost.
10 Gs is ridiculous for anything like that. I am a huge Kirk fan and of Metallica in general, but I wouldn't spend that on an amp just because it has a famous guitarist's name on it.
I don't doubt you......but I think that if you take his name off it and sell it as is with out altering anything like Peavey did with EVH's stuff, they'd sell it for maybe 6 grand instaed of 10.
Yeah you're right, the endorsement is a big deal. I wasn't trying to argue, I was just astounded because I've seen plenty of guitars with figured maple finishes but never an entire half stack that was completely covered in it! That's pretty excessive.
I didn't see it as an argument, but yeah, I agree that a whole amp covered like like that is a bit much. I'd rather have an amp look like shit than sound like shit, you know what I mean? I don't care if it'd been blown apart and reconstructed, but as long as it SOUNDS immaculate, I'd be fine with it. :)
I want to smack that guy right every time I hear him "TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS" No amp is worth $10,000. The RM100M is hardly even that much divided by 10.
Wiki says that Kirk switched to Randall in 07 and right before Dimebag died he was using them as well. Im planning to by Mesa when I pay my car off later this year.
Wow, he mentions Gothenburg metal sound. I had no idea we had our own metal sound, but now that he mentions it, yeah stuff here does have a flavor to it. I wouldn't call it staccato, maybe more melodic and dark.
The KH half stack ("entry level") is solid state...but the limited edition one isn't....the MTS modules have 12AX7s in them....so does the other signature Kh half stack (the one that's not shown.....it's like $2500)
TEN GRAND??? are you YANKING ME? No one is going to buy that in this economy. That and it is SOLIDSTATE, not even tube. Get real Randall. Your off your ROCKER!
not to mention 10 grand for a solid state amp... who the heck is going to pay 10 grand for a solid state amp with power tubes?.... buy a vox, i have a b-52 at100 amp and that thing does it all... and i only paid 699 for it..... and it's a tri mode rectifier.... tube a , ab, solid state if iwant it... which i never will.... i hate solid state amps... tube all the way baby
The Ninja's cab has a mic eliminator. You could always run that through some sort of crazy get up to be able to turn it all the way up, and play at a low volume.
Hello people on YouTube, I play guitar and i'm interested in purchasing a V2 Ninja here in the next week. My band plays Hardcore/Metal/Rock little punk in there to. Has anyone heard the V2 Ninja in action?? My lead guitarist has a Randall V2 and he told me it's pretty much the same amp only the Ninja has 1 tube that sounds better.. My band's name is Storm Shadow. we're on myspace.
I've been looking at them online and I've heard they sound more solid state then just full on tube amps do, but theres a lot of knobs did you try some tweaking? I've heard people say they sound "awful" and dont have the rich tube tone but not heard anyone say they are thin or call them a joke yet. love the growl and tightness from what I've heard. I was leaning towards possibly buying a v2 or a mesa instead.
I demo'd a v2 in a store and wasnt impressed.. The negative things you heard people say about them is right on.. Thin, no tube tone at all.. I actually have a krankenstein which is the ideal version of this amp..
Michael should have stayd with Krank I don't know why he switched. I was going to drive across Houston, Tx on Monday just try his and Kirks amps out, but now fuck that. I been getting a lot of messages saying don't waist your gas. I feel that they just wanted endorsement money and not real quality.
i got a line 6 a few years ago good practice amps in my experience, but its kindof like the foot pedals you get for cheap with a ton of effects. None of the channels sound as good as what they were meant to copy.
Dude i completly agree, If i had ten grand laying around i'd much rather have a Full stack than a fricking Kirk Hammett Half, that price is major bull shit.
I just bought the "affordable" version of this half stack. It justs kick asses. The limited edition is only for collectors and they'll keep it in his box or it will be loose some value.
Have you played the Krank amps or do you just own an Engl. I've owned both and I like them both. To me I like the tone of the Krank better. It's more unique. The Engl tone is more generic. To each his own.
I would go with a Line 6 then if you can't afford a tube amp. Because you get all of the tube amps in one solidstate amp. That is your best bet. A very good amp for the money hands down. Look into the Line 6 Spider 3 line.
Err no haha, so not worth it...If anyone here knew anything about amplification you'd know its only 'good' cause their names are printed on the control panel...
i saw arch enemy live last month and mike was using his randalls all right, he got his new signature model guitar, which honestly i dont like as much as the old one, but yea he used his randall, he used to use krank, but he switched over for the rise of the tyrant album

KH3-Channel would be "Black Album and beyond".
I highly disagree since they started to change the sound only in about '94/'95.
The "Black Album" might sound a but more modern, but it's definitely nót the later Rock-sound they had, but ridiculously heavy.
What's up with everyone always putting the "Black Album" in the same package as the "Load-era" and all that?
It's completely different from any later albums.

Have you played the Krank amps or do you just own an Engl. I've owned both and I like them both. To me I like the tone of the Krank better. It's more unique. The Engl tone is more generic. To each his own.

cristsagarakis 3 years ago
the kirk hammet signature is tube
the kh120 is solid state
and the michael ammot is a valve driven mosfet circuit and it has 4 tubes i think

OK, lets hear them! It's like selling a car without a test drive.

i beg for advicee!!, please, i'm looking for an amp, i have no idea what to go for, so please, whoever reads this, gimme a hand PLEASE!
tigreslokos 3 years ago
alright, what type of music do u play???
Iizdacool 3 years ago
thanks man, but i already decided, i'm goin for a Peavey Vypyr, i can't go tubes,
tigreslokos 3 years ago
What kind of music are you playing? What kind of guitar are you using? What are you trying to go for? lets start there.
Leinieslightman 3 years ago
oh thanks man but I already chose one, the Peavey Vypyr 75. any comments on that amp`?
I don't have it yet...
tigreslokos 3 years ago
Sounds cool. The 6505 is an awesome head. I dont know anything about the Vyper
Leinieslightman 3 years ago
yea i've heard the 6505 and the 6505+ and they both are amazing, but i can't use tubes, and i can't afford a very expensive amp like the 6505s...
tigreslokos 3 years ago
I would go with a Line 6 then if you can't afford a tube amp. Because you get all of the tube amps in one solidstate amp. That is your best bet. A very good amp for the money hands down. Look into the Line 6 Spider 3 line.
Leinieslightman 3 years ago 3
i dont like at all line 6, too fake for me,
tigreslokos 3 years ago 4
Idk what to tell you then. there good for the money and there a hell of a lot better than crate amps. Now crates suck!. Look into B52 then.
Leinieslightman 3 years ago
i never considered crate, but i did consider B52s, let me check them again...
tigreslokos 3 years ago
line 6 doesn't sound fake at all on the spider 3
skaterdylan101 3 years ago 3
yes it does!
ur a douche!
adsm2007 3 years ago
spider 3 is the worst amp i have ever heard. 100 bucks ill never ever ever get back. i guess i could sell it back to guitar center for 30 bucks.
iobserveutube 3 years ago
dude, you paid 100 bucks of course its gonna suck.
xhatexmexnot 3 years ago
line6 is crap dude
CradledToEnslave 3 years ago
I agree. I tried the 6505 the other day and is the most practical head if you want a nice van halen crunch to a really heavy metal tight sound.

i so want one of those kirk hammett amps!

mradamo93 3 years ago
Err no haha, so not worth it...If anyone here knew anything about amplification you'd know its only 'good' cause their names are printed on the control panel...

i saw arch enemy live last month and mike was using his randalls all right, he got his new signature model guitar, which honestly i dont like as much as the old one, but yea he used his randall, he used to use krank, but he switched over for the rise of the tyrant album
vampyricmantra63 3 years ago

$10 000 is a lot of money. I'll buy the 100 watts amplifier with no graphic design and the head's cost is $2000.
Stt035 3 years ago 4
10 000 bucks what the shit man.....i have to get my doctorate before i can afford this amp!!!
lthydn 3 years ago 6
Actually Michael Amott dosn't use on tour. I think he uses it for band practises
slayerlover666 3 years ago 2
