I must say, the Kirk Hammett stack is beautiful. How much does the thing weigh? That wood seems as though it would be heavier than common plywood.

Ultimately, I don't think I'd want an amp like that. One scratch or dent would kill me... And you just know it would happen.

It doesn't look cool enough to warrant the extra money and hassle. Tone is what it's really about, and you can get it just as good for about 90% less.

I agree,I will take the Blackstar 1/200 over this anyday.Besides I heard Kirk is going to have a Sig B.S. 1/200 as soon as his contract with Randall expires..Probably just a rumor but IMO of all the new Amp's out there Blackstar is honestly the sickest most versitile amp Ive ever heard and played in my life.3g for the whole rig and actually paying for tone not the finish.Studio decoration hits the nail on the head as far as this is concerned.lol

Yeah, Blackstar amps are awesome. I've always wanted to try one. I've listened to videos and I'm never sure if I like the tone or not. Trying an amp for yourself seems to be the only true way to know what it sounds and "feels" like.

I doesn't really matter to me I guess, as I can't afford a Blackstar.

I am more than happy with the sound of my Rectifier combo anyway. Plus, it only cost me $700 used in great condition. That's money left over for rack effects and a midi control system.

So true,you cant tell by Ytube demos,real presence,tone and pick attack responce,etc.I wasnt looking for a head when I plugged in a series 1,but sold my JCM 2000 and triple Recto heads to get one and had it about 2 weeks after,lol.Just blew me away and still does everytime I fire it up.The series 1/100 is 1600.00 which is a great price next to most big name amps.The Series 1 heads are priced right exept the B.S. Artison series.700 for a recto combo is a sick price cant beat that.

Especially considering the B.S. 45 combo is crazy I think over 2500.00,Same with the Artison 100 watt head,2800.00 and IMO the series 1 blows it away.And speaking of Midi and racks I just bought the RJM music technology RG 16 with mastermind midi foot cont.Hands down the easiest unit for independently assigning pedals,and using multiple amp stereo applications.Awesome price and worth every penny.Give that a look,

I highly disagree since they started to change the sound only in about '94/'95.

The "Black Album" might sound a but more modern, but it's definitely nót the later Rock-sound they had, but ridiculously heavy.

I would go with a Line 6 then if you can't afford a tube amp. Because you get all of the tube amps in one solidstate amp. That is your best bet.  A very good amp for the money hands down. Look into the Line 6 Spider 3 line.
