its not a 100% kiss song search this song on wikipedia only Desmond bruce and paul are the only ones from kiss in this song and this song is on a soundtrack called bonfire
The finished product is on the "Shocker" movie soundtrack. A small horror film in the early nineties directed by Wes Craven. That version is very much heavier with Desmond Child singing...
@jschultz1226 It is performed by Bonfire, the singer is Claus Lessmann. Both versions are great though, too bad that the Kiss version was not completed.
One of my favorite Kiss songs ever! It's a shame that it wasn't released. Bonfire did an okay job, but it's not as good as this. BTW, the Shocker soundtrack IS worth tracking down. I did and it's in heavy rotation in my disc changer. The whole soundtrack is amazing.
why did bonfire get this song? they could'nt even make a 1 hit wonder out of it KISS sang it in a bad recording studio and would of made a hit out of it
@foxyhare2001 From what I heard before that when Paul was doing the Shocker soundtrack that he offered it to Bonfire to do for the soundtrack. How true that is, I am not certain, but that's what I heard.
Sword and Stone, Shocker and Time Traveler were great tunes. THey should have put them on Crazy Night, fired Ron Nevison and voila - a classic rock album.
@NathanArnoldCharging see, Gene and Paulie should let me be their manager, they wouldn't have had the problems with the elder, choosing the wrong members, the wrong tunes. lol
@NathanArnoldCharging yeah, I prefer Angel Schleifers solo as well. I presume this is bruce kulick, it just sounds a bit like a below par Yngwie Malmsteen, the back end of the solo sounds like a straight copy of part of the solo in You Dont Remember I'll Never Forget .. actually the whole song sounds a bit like it.! Bonfire Rock! (occaisionally)
It's a shame that this never made it onto a KISS album. Makes no sense that a song like Bang Bang You would be used for the Crazy Nights cd instead of this.
I totally agree..This could have a been a single..Paul sings his heart out on that One..sames goes for TIME TRAVELLER, can't believe they didn't incude this one either..
sounds like a song you can work out to, then go battle your enemy and come out victorious with wind in your hair and chicks all over you. muscles gleaming from all the sweat. you are ruler of the earth. wearing animal fur as a skirt.
Granted this is just a Demo...I'd Like to hear this with slicked up production. Whoever produced and engineered the Bonfire version did a helluva job.
This song I dare to say is somewaht un-kiss, it had been a diferent math in musical direction, sounds interesting indeed, but more mainstrem, similar to so called hair metal at the time. But very interesting anyway. A kiss veteran until make up came on again
Bonfires version is better? PLEAAAASSEEE!! It's A Paul Stanley composition.. So Sad that this was never recorded for a Kiss album.. release the demo officially already!!!
This song was twice relased in 1989 - by Paul Dean of Loverboy on his solo album "Hard Core" and by Bonfire on the "Shocker" soundtrack. Bonfire's version is very close to Kiss' - very cool but too metal for mass pop consumption in the late '80s. But Paul Dean's version is much more commercially viable. Had Kiss released the song Paul's way, I very strongly believe it would have been a big hit for them.
I have no problem with it sounding '80s, just it really sounds like survivor. BTW thanx for commenting, I forgot about this already. For what it's worth I do like the song.
I, too, love this song and think it should have been released by Kiss.
However, I'm thinking that this song would have fit better on The Elder. And if that be the case, you can understand why Kiss would be weary about releasing it.
I remember walking into the movie for Shocker and hearing "The Dudes of Wrath" thinking "That sounds like Paul Stanley." He should have recorded this and maybe even did "Timeless Love" as a duet with Saraya. That would have been classic.
it's a great song, but I can kind of understand why Paul wouldn't want Kiss to do it. It's just not in their style - reminds me of I've Had Enough from Animalize, which isn't a very Kiss-ish song at all. IMO.
awesome-ass song! the verse part is so cool. paul stanley's voice makes this better than bonfires's. their version is nearly identical anyway, just less apparent keyboards.
