  • Johnny is 14 months younger than me, and was my constant heart throb from 7th grade through college. I loved his sweetness and innocence. I accidentally met him on a studio lot when I was 16 and founcd myself speechless.

  • I love this

  • His singing is nice but I prefer Ricky Nelson's version WITHOUT STRINGS.

  • That was a really good version of "lonesome town", You have in my opinion a strong clear voice! Great job!! Also I liked the part you played on the rifleman, you played the part very realistically, playing a typical kid, but one who was "mentally tough, with a big heart". Go Johnny, Go,!!!!

  • I'm looking for "So goes the story" from the early '60's. I think it was on the flip side of "Daydreams". If anyone has a good copy coupld you please put it on YouTube? Thanks

  • this song is so sweet..

  • Hey where is Johnny Crawford???? I want to see more interviews, songs, from johnny crawford. afterall he was my first Crush. then there was lief garret, shawn cassiday, andy gib, kerry von eric, the rock. now im married no more crushes LOL

  • Very, very, good, thank you Johnny.

  • Beautiful. He acts with great sensitivity - and sings so, too.

  • he's not Ricky Nelson but not too bad I always liked the rifleman a great song that within about 7 years after its release was looked on by the hippies or freaks as they liked to be called, with derision on anything like this they were locked into an acid rock if you will mindset many of them judged you by how long your hair was and "oh man that's really heavy" with that California accent like today I hear kids from the South trying to sound like they came from Harlem or South Central

  • Stumbled on this as a rifleman related vid and expected to get a laugh out of Lucas's kid parlaying a recording gig from that show, singing a tune I've always associated with and very much liked by Rick Nelson. And was blown away by how really good it was. Maybe better than Rick's version. Certainly at least as good.

  • @carryhatton39 same here! I listened to Cindy's Birthday because I was trying to get "friday" out of my head, and I was like "oh yeah sure this kid could 'sing'" . . . and then I listened to it and thought, "oh . . . this kid CAN sing!" It's nice to hear something free of auto-tune for once, too.

  • Hats off,Thanks

  • Wow. Never knew Johnny recorded this. Absolutely wonderful version of Rick Nelson's song. I think perhaps he was a very underrated young singing talent. Thanks for putting it on here.

  • Wow! Incredible.

  • never knew he could sing like this!

  • kind of sounds like the Everley brothers on this one

  • @MegaCrowman Actually I think he sounds a little like Ricky Nelson

  • Beautiful!

  • I've always loved this song. Heard many fine versions, in addition to Ricky Nelson's classic original. Had no idea that the multi talented Johnny Crawford had done his own rendition. Enjoyed it very much....nice use of strings....THANK YOU so much for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! :)

  • always enjoyed johnny crawford's music . can someone post some songs from his RUMORS cd. thanks

  • Heatbreak Hotel's locale.

A pure take on an under-rated classic.

Ricky Nelson's version is fine, too.

  • made some of the best 60's tunes.what a voice and a great choice of songs.covers or his own.

  • Great song.Johnny Crawford does this song justice....RiflemanRay

  • Not bad,but the Ricky Nelson version is better.

  • Such a great singer and overlooked talent. What a shame. Thank you for this.
