  • Wow when Backstreet Boys's Drowning came on I was like " That's not by them I thought it was OTown? Isn't it called All or Nothing??" that was so weird.

  • Vanilla Ice Paid David Bowie to have the song in their song

So its not similar its purposely done

  • I'm pretty sure Vanilla Ice sampled that song....

  • Nickelback isn't bad! Our farewell song was by Nickelback (if today was your last day) and everyone loved it!

  • what exactly makes nickelback bad?

  • Raise Your Glass and Teenage Dream

  • I like nickleback!!

  • and what do you wanna tell us with this crap?

  • ice ice baby had a sample of under pressure

  • They all have 2 things in comon they sound the same and they suck ..well exept Queen

  • Sweet home Alabama - Werewolves of London

  • Good job - very interesting!

  • Damien Rice - Cannonball

Will Young - Leave right now

Now these two songs really do sound a like.

  • ice ice baby is a remix not a sound alike

  • @THEMEGAWAVE10 actually its neither he left out one note in the melody and called it a "different song".

  • Respond to this video... oh sorry, he ADDED one note and called it a new song

  • @THEMEGAWAVE10 No. He actually got sued for it. It's copyright, a rip-off, therefore a sound-alike.

  • you left off all of Taylor Swoofts songs

  • you should add The Doors "Hello, I love you", and the Kinks' "All Day and all of the night"

they are really similar.. too similar!

  • david bowie/ ice ice baby was intended though

  • wow creepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the piano riff sounds like i can go the distance from hercules the disney movie

  • california girls and tik tok

  • Backstreet Boys "Drowning" sounds a lot like "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams

  • The first song has the first chords of a Disney song. lmao.

  • Vanilla ice actually took the background music from queen so I don't think that one should count.

  • @axlfoleyfanatic Yeah, but at first Ice tried to claim it as original before he credited Queen or Bowie.

  • eff you all... nickel back is a fun band to listen to on a Friday night with your friends.. die all haters.

  • @hoobalogginmedia I really hope you don't breed.

  • Also Halo by Beyonce and Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson sounds alike (:

  • OMG They are covers.

  • I love how you actually think Nickelback is a good band. @ambersuzanne1

  • @xojillyjillox I love it too :]. Take your sarcasm elsewhere babe:)

  • @xojillyjillox You fell for his obvious troll

  • @xojillyjillox they are

  • @xojillyjillox I love how you hate on his opinion.

  • @ambersuzanne1 HAHAHA

  • Vanilla Ice sampled Under Pressure he didn't necessarily use the same rhythm.

  • how about tik tok kesha and california gurls katy perry. they sound very alike!

  • Try "my Sweet Lord" by George Harrison and "He's So Fine" by the Chiffons. Identical except he changed the lyrics. It was obviously a lift, but he probably didn't realize it.

  • "when love takes over" - David guetta. and. "clocks" - Coldplay. they sound very similar

  • Michael Jackson's Earth Song sounds very similair to the first song too.

  • @parry84 ...yeah very similar

  • "Ghost Busters" Ray Parker Jr. and "I Want a New Drug" by Huey Lewis & the News

  • "Drowning" and "All or Nothing" also sound like Son by Four- A puro dolor.

  • Now in the 2000s its all remixes and remakes of movies and music. Nothings ever original. I wonder how music will be like in the 3000s i bet they will still remakes star wars lmao and holographic light shows.

  • well if you think about we only have 7 notes to work with. kinda hard to get something totally new

  • Never had a dream come true is quite simliar to 'heaven' by bryan adams.

  • hiow about te amo and dutty love, or yeah 3x and im not alone?

  • To be fair, there are only a limited number of key sequences that don't clash horribly, so any modern song will have at least one older song it sounds similar to.

    It's unavoidable.

  • @MumboJ That means NO ONE is original.

  • some are samples but that shouldnt count it should only be ones who have not had actual samples.

  • Video Killed the radio song - Buggles and Check it out - Will.i.am Ft Niki Minaj is another one :P

  • Well actually...Rhythm Nation does sample Thank You for Letting Me Be Myself, so I guess it's justified

  • First one also sounds like Kim Lukas - All I really want

  • Ya'll shut up DAMN! There is a video about songs that sound familiar, and ya'll are writing LONG paragraphs about it! Geez! There's always an argument on here!

  • @PerkySketch I don't see how you can actually like eating small, cute pets. You even have a recipe on your channel for cooking them. Totally wrong!

  • i know what ur talking about ice ice baby and under presure i have under presure on my i pod and i always think its ice ice baby

  • Those songs don't just sound the same... they are the same... each band got permission from the other to use their music.

I was hoping to find something like -

    Codo-DOF

    Buffy - Nerf Hearder

  • @koolanator

vanilla ice did NOT get permission to use that bass line, that's why they got sued.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Oh really?... I never even heard of that lawsuit before... good to know :) But generally - I was still hoping for songs that just sounded the same, but weren't the same...

CODO by DOF + The Kids Aren't Alright by Offspring = Buffy by Nerf Herder

  • that second song, the all or nothing sounds like westlife's swear it all over again :P

  • In the case of Under Pressure, that was just a blatant rip off.Vanilla Ice claims to have never heard of the Queens/Bowie song..yeah,ok.

  • 2nd song also sounds like Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams ;)

  • "thank you for letting me be myself" sounds more like "Play That Fuinky Music" by wild cherry.

  • 1st one sounds like Everytime We Touch toooo

  • i swear the song "you will find a way" by the offspring is a complete copy of "times like these" by the foo fighters

  • haha this reminds me of the "4 chords song" look up "axis of awesome 4 chords" hilarious!! :)

  • eagle eye cherry save tonight and soda stereo de musica ligera

  • Am I the only one who thinks Vanilla Ice is a wigger dipshit? Thumb sup if you agree, I suppose.

  • stand by me and beautiful girls

daddy dj and all i ever wanted

  • this is stupid! we could be here forever if we wanted to name songs that sound similar. everything's been done.

  • Um if you're going to be comparing Queen/David Bowie with Vanilla Ice for using a clip of the song, you may as well do Rick James and MC Hammer.

  • @cherrybombsaway You could also go on a limb and accuse Sarah McLachlan for ripping off Pink Floyd. drop.io *slash* PossessionandCirrusMinor

  • @cs2sasuke741 "The song samples the bassline of "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie."

    Wikipedia

  • I think Silent Running by Mike and the Mechanics and Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz sound similar, but that's only my opinion.

  • Ice Ice Baby shouldn't count because it's a sample of Under Pressure.

  • Two very obvious ones.

Viva la Vida by Cold Play and.. the original.

If I could Fly by Joe Satriani

  • what about like a virgan and billie jean. like a virgin intro sounds to similair to billie jean. in fact madonna acturely sang billie jean when she started to sing her song live in the 80s

  • Titanic Theme song and OTown All or nothing. :D

  • Songs that sound the same, because they were using fucking samples. Derp.

  • you forgot super freak and cant touch this

  • @darkhorse4eva A) Whoever taught you to type is an idiot

    B) Continuing to do like you've been taught after you realize it's wrong makes you an idiot too.

    HTH

  • OK the Ice Ice Baby one is called a "sample" - this is a different thing.

Also the Sly Stone vs Janet Jackson one is just funk man, jesus. Funk.

    I'm going to bed now.

  • stairway to heaven and taurus by spirit

  • hoooly shittt,

  • i've heard Lady Gaga rip off the Sugababes (or is it the other way round???)

And also Anthony McLean's "My Name" takes parts of OneRepublic's "Apologize" and Alesha Dixon's "Breathe Slow".

  • Dude theres hundreds

  • You forgot the entire discography of Nickelback.

  • @dfbhcf and the packard bell riff

  • @dfbhcf hahahahahahahaha

  • @dfbhcf You sir, are an idiot.

  • @WWEdeadman Well sir, 55 people don't agree. It's just a damn joke, lighten up. Btw, your name is "WWEdeadman", which is self-explanatory to how much of an idiot you are.

  • Comment removed

  • @dfbhcf So what, you found 54 other morons who think like you do. Big deal. There are way too many idiots in this world, in my opinion.

And as for my Username: 1. You don't need to tell me my Username, I already know it

    2. How does it make me an idiot?

    3. What, for the sake of god, does "dfbhcf" mean? did you have a seizure when you typed that? Or yre you just too dumb too figure out a username that's at least SORT OF pronounceable?

And FYI: If you're not down with that, i got 2 words for ya.

  • @WWEdeadman My username doesn't mean anything. I don't like wasting my time thinking of stupid nicknames to represent myself so I just wrote jibberish as my username. And your username makes you an idiot because you're a fan of the worst quality of entertainment on tv. I admit I used to like wrestling as a kid when it was called WWF and was actually good, but now it's just awful. Oh yeah, and you're also an idiot because you like Nickelback. Go suck John Cena's cock dipshit.

  • @dfbhcf haha

  • @dfbhcf ur forgetting this video was from 3 years ago

  • I'm not sure how foolish yall are, but Vanilla Ice as AnarchyRule stated also sampled that song, lol.

  • meh abit but with or without you is one of the best songs ever written... no song can come close to it!

  • Shadow of the day and With or without you sound alike too :)

  • Vanilla Ice was using a sample, like most hip hop songs, btw doesn't wild thing by tone loc sound like jamie's crying by Van Halen

  • Tone Loc was using a sample too.

  • vanilla ice ripped the beat off of queen and they sued that white trash for stealing

  • vanilla ice and janet jackson obviously sampled those songs. it's not a coincidence but it's not plagiarism. usually hip-hop songs use samples of other songs (usually funk songs.) you can hear this all over the place. like "u can't touch this" by mc hammer uses a sample of rick james' "superfreak." it's totally legal. the record companies get clearance from the other artist or record company.

  • O=Town + Backstreet Boys... Aren't we forgetting someone?! BRAIN ADAMS?! *sigh*

  • Brain Adams?

  • "Under Pressure" and "Ice Ice Baby" doesn't seem like much of a fair comparison. Yeah, they obviously sound similar, but isn't one of them a rap/hip hop song? And if I'm not mistaken, a fairly common practice in some rap/hip hop is using parts from other songs.

  • .... it is a fair comparison, and your argument is extremely lofty. when an "artist" (which vanilla ice is not) loops part of a song into their own, it automatically makes fair game - and obvious - comparison.

besides, vanilla ice got in some trouble for sampling. there's a certain amount of legality that comes with not creating your own beat... it's called "you have to pay up if you're going to steal."

  • I guess what I mean is that it's not a very surprising comparison, like with some of the other songs compared in this vid. The others were similar to each other, but not in a "copy and paste" kind of way, and that's what's a little more interesting to compare, imo.

  • @mattmanguy The difference being, vanilla ice didn't get Queen's permission to sample their track, he stole it. And worse, when confronted, he pretended like they were two totally different things.

  • @TornadoApollo: Hmm...yeah, I think I've heard of that. : /

  • @mattmanguy if that statement is true. No rapper in the music industry not only "doesnt" makes music, but none are original.

  • @Emblemz: Um...I didn't say all rap artists do that. o_O

  • @mattmanguy yea but vanilla ice completely ignores that they are similar he says they are completely different

  • @mattmanguy no vanilla ice sampled the bass line...so it doesnt count as sounding similar he used the same bass line so take that one off its stupid.

  • @mattmanguy yeah, they sampled the bass line

  • Justin Biebers New Song Love Me sounds like another song! i jus can't put my finger on it can you help me!!!

  • Fuck justin bieber

  • Clocks by coldplay and when love takes over by kelly rolands/ david guetta. The snake by al wilson and ooh la by the kooks. Theres two more pairs of similar sounding songs ;D .

  • yeah but the other songs usually get the rights to use it and sell it. Vanilla Ice simply sold it without giving credit

  • The last two sound nothing alike at all. That sly song sounds closer to play that funky music white boy.

  • yeah I thought Thank You for letting mr be Myself was gonna be compared to Play that Funky Music too.

  • that second one sounds like bryan adams aswell :S

  • 80's by killing joke and come as you are by nirvana are very similar

  • the first one also sounds lik the slower version of everytime we touch

  • I always thought Wonderwall and Superman's Dead also sounded alike during the Acoustic Intro.

  • Vanilla Ice used a sample off Queen & Bowie...

    Thats not copying.

& the others were freakishly alike!

  • Vanilla Ice never admitted he 'sampled' them. He said his had a ting, which made to totally different.

  • solution: stop listening to bad music and this will not happen.

  • ice ice baby is just a sample

  • vanilla ice should be sued because its the same song there is no difference

  • yeah i heard the ice ice baby start onc ei thought it was under pressure

  • Warwick Avenue - Duffy reminds me of the start of "My Girl"

  • Coldplay -> Clocks

David Gueta ft. Kelly Rowland -> When love takes over

  • should of put, already gone - kelly clarkson and halo - beyonce

  • its weird how when you get good at music you start to realise how samey it all is and how easy it would be to pretty much copy someone else's song, change it a bit, and make millions from it because the majority of people wouldnt notice

  • @ThunderHeadMovies

yeah, sometimes i wish i didn't become a musician for that reason. lots of music is starting to sound the same to me.

  • @ThunderHeadMovies you don't really have to be good at music!

  • i remember that drowning came out before all or nothing and i think it was brian littrell who said they had the piano for drowning first but o town relased before or something like that.

  • how sad that you know that...

  • Add Bryan Adams- Everything I do... before the Back Street Boys and O Town!, and was there maybe a Journey song also similar?

  • You mean that Journey song that sounds similar to REM - All the right friends, and Tina Turner - The Best?

  • janet jackson - rhythm nation also reminds me kinda of stevie wonders superstition.

  • the reason under pressure and ice baby sound the same is because he sampled it,,,,,,,,, he is a rapper they do that, and i honestly think it blows,,,, some of these are extremly similar, some are just in a different key, or off set by on half or whole step..............

  • about to say the same thing, but decided to see if any one said it already, word for word.

  • the first are the same just in different keys!!!!

    THEY COPIED SCLUB7!

  • the first are the same just in different keys, and the second two are the same just in different keys!!!! There's no originality in this world anymore!!!!

  • One Fine Day and Hanamaru Sensation sound the same in the chorus. XD But I'm convinced that one's a coincidence.

  • Vanilla Ice's Song is a cover of Bowie, which means they used their record to make it. It had nothing to do with coincidence or not. Covers are done all the time. Are you 13? You need to get a serious lesson in how a lot of the songs are written. There are millions of these examples out there.

  • Actually it isnt a cover, he samples it...

  • it wasn't a cover he stole the bass line and got sued.

  • its not a cover he completely ripped them off

  • Move ya body by nina sky, culo by pitbull, and Jook Gal by elephant man all sound similar

  • Sweet Home Alabama , Werewolves In London & All Summer Long Sound The Same but were forgotten

  • Hell yeah SLY!

  • There is a green day song - Waiting and Downtown by Petula Clarck

  • For the first two songs, that lame Go the Distance song from Hercules also sounds the same.

That Sly & The Family Stone one also sounds very Stevie Wonder-esque

  • wow good call!

  • vanilla ice stole the bassline from queen as a sample

  • Correcting: Vanilla Ice sampled that bassline from Queen.

    Sampling is not stealing.

  • actually he got sued for using it because im pretty sure he didnt have the right to use that line and he tried to prove that they were different basslines however no one was convinced

I know what sampling is but im pretty sure you have to stilll get permission from the artist which he didnt

    so basically. he stole it

*not saying hes a bad guy or anything

  • Vanilla Ice adds an extra note in if you notice, its still a blatant rip off.

  • lol

    one note.

  • I'm pretty sure that there is a publishing deal behind it, which means that the person who wrote the song (Queen?) actually makes a certain percentage of the money that Vanilla Ice made through the song.

  • No, they don't. Vanilla Ice stole it and wouldn't own up to doing so.

  • there wasn't he got sued and lost. He ripped under pressure off.

  • its the same song

  • Duh

  • how bout the beginnings of walk like an egyptian and are you gonna be my girl

  • and lust for life

  • how about elecmans theme from Mega Man 1 and Faithfully by journey

  • better think twice- vince gill +

    think about me- fleetwood mac

  • its practically copied :o

  • This song no are the same. This are arrangements, the problem the use the same or simile chords and some same ideas. Like the beggin with the bass in vanilla and queen.

I thinks is a copy or the same song when they use the same melody.

But also is a BIG mistake use a arrangement simile to another song.
