@forrykid Now that you mentioned IWTV, I, too, can imagine him as Lestat. He did tap a Golden Globes nomination. Awards? piff! A legend surpasses such banal tokens. I suppose that sums up my admiration (or unhealthy obsession, perhaps?).
I loved Martin Essenbeck (Helmut Berger) in this. He has such a beautiful and alluringly face, paired with his creeping snake-like air, it's simply stunning. God, he was a looker. The character of Martin was very interesting, a submissively dominant but frustrated deviant, who broke through his family confines. I found him intriguing. Those poisonous serpentine movements, and smoldering looks, made Martin one of the most debonair villainous main characters I've seen thus far.
one of the best music videos I've ever seen on youtube! the atmosphere and dramaturgy of the music you used to build up the tension and the tragic beauty of the plot is unbelievable! all the moments of surprise and shock, the fine connections between the scenes in their fatal disposition! a lot of work has to be put in such a breathtaking masterpiece! I recently saw the film and was overwhelmed by it, so I was very sceptic about towards this vid, but it's genial!
Excellent job on this video. I normally hate dub overs of old films with contempo music but this was good and SICK! Berger was excellent in The Damned.
Martin is so perverted and evil. His beauty makes it even worse.

@Fantageous
When I read "Interview With The Vampire" back in 1976,
Lestat was Helmut and remained so for 20 years.
He should have been nominated for Best or Supporting Actor for his performance in "The Damned".

Wow, I absolutely love this music video. It's so intense!
Amazing how well the song fits the story, as if it was written with the movie in mind.
Please make more music videos with Helmut Berger. :) Your ones are the best.

This song doesn't fit with the glauquous and dark aspect of this masterpiece.
But It's my opinion...
