I think halloun88 doesn't know that a lot of Iraqi musicians left Iraq to Israel and carried their music along with them. Don't blame him for his stupidity and naivety :)
i am not a teacher of music but as it is obvouis,, most of the MAQAMS bettwen ASIAN nations are unknown and nobody knows which Maqam comes from where?! but SEGA....is more kurdish.. than any other nations around.
a lot of them are known per their names; for example, Nehawand is a place in Persia, Hijaz is a region in the Arabian peninsula. In addition, a lot of maqamat were confirmed to be originated in Iraq as well as Turky!!
Those Maqams who people claim that they are arabic or turkish are Kurdish infact. arabs had no music till they came to iran during second khalifa and turks were wild mongolian and what ever they have is from Anatolia which is North of Kurdistan. for everything there are many reason and evidence just you have to open your eyes.
@Serok2707 The kurds never had any state, and don't say anatolia is the north of kurdistan, tht's nthing more than a legend, you're not the firsts to be there.
And after, tht's obvious you're not muslim (whereas every normal kurd should be), bcause before they came to iran, the muslims used the maqams to recite Alqur'aan (7 maqams were used: bayati,7ijazi,rasd,nahawand,3ajam,saba,segah=> read hadiths you will understand), and turks had their own music(of course not the same as anatolian music)
@rawazroj You kurdish nationalist, did you know that "Segâh" is not kurdish at all, but is actually persian. Make just a little bit of research instead of saying "yh this is kurdish" and i have a 2nd thing to say, even if this was kurdish, what would change? You would be more intelligent? stronger? NO, and furthermore, the name of this maqams can be persian, but the problem is... that doesn't mean it comes from there.
you are not very civilized. this is not politics . it is music. as a kurd i even listen to arabic music, despite all savagery the arabs done to the kurds.
Study history ppl...Jews come from Middle East. Arabs and Jews are Cuzins. Period. The musical styles are Semetic together, naturally. For periods muslims banished music, but Jews could play music and excelled at the natural soul of it.
Now, why not complain about Greeks who have borrowed from Turkish and call it Greek, lol...seriously
