  • A hundred million miracles should be said when you wake up and when you go to bed. Because every day is a grand day

  • "Fine, but do not sing too loud" *Takes out gong*

  • For 10 years, from 1980-90, I worked right across Pine St. from St. Mary's Square and ate my lunch under the Sun Yat Sen statue pictured above many times. I got to pay that back on Oct. 17,1989, when I was personally responsible for keeping Long-distance and emergency communications working OUT of San Francisco during the Loma Prieta Quake. I've wandered the streets and alleys of Chinatown many times over the years.

  • Was she Mrs. Livingston from The Courtship of Eddie's father?

  • @tubebitch12 She was !

  • @tamerswan Ikr? Our drama department is doing this play this year, I'm the tailor, in like the third scene, the guy who measures Wang Chi Yang's outfit, other than that I'm in ensemmble but yes, it's an amazing play/movie and I can't wait to perform in June!

  • "I will only break the law a little bit!" Mei Li is so cute >_<

  • i've seen this musical about 4 times. i just loved it! thanx for posting!

  • "But do not sing too loud".....then father goes and bangs a gong. Giggle.

  • This song almost makes me cry every time.

  • i love this movie miyashi umeki was so adorable, and i love this song it is so pretty.

  • Among the "miracles" she sings of, she might have included her own sweet self.

  • holy crap!!! that chick has some badass HANDS on her!!!!!!!!!!!!! beautiful voice

  • Miyoshi is one of the only actors in the movie whose performance goes beyond just being an archetype and into an actual character.

Her face has a kind of Audrey Hepburn quality.

  • @WillScarlet16 I agree. I love the sweetness, charm, class and innocence she brought to her character. Hepburn had a knack for doing the same thing.

  • Tazal: Myoshi was picked for the movie, not only because she was an Academy Award winner, but also because she starred in the show on Broadway. Juanita Hall is from the Broadway cast as well. Hall had previous worked for Rodgers and Hammerstein both on stage and screen for SOUTH PACIFIC.

  • I always loved this movie when I was young. Now when I see Myoshi again I realize why Susan Oh always reminded me of someone!

  • I recall that she died of cancer shortly after "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" in the late 60's, but now I just found out she died of cancer a couple of years ago. Someone is really messing with my head. Richard Dawson was supposed to have died in the late 70's, but he is still alive. What the H is going on!??

  • so was all of los angeles.

  • ooo cool

  • She is so beautiful

  • @wickedfeylady lolz r u asian? i am =P

  • i think myoshi was an obvious pick for this movie since she won the academy award for sayonara. and she was well known already for her singing.

  • that was cute

  • One of the most beautiful films ever made and this is perhaps the prettiest song.

  • She has such an open, honest, cheerful little face. I really need to get this movie.

  • One of those songs that help me get out of bed every morning.

  • One of my favorite movies... Nice to see so many good vids at utube. Thanks! :~)

  • Im going to sing this song for chior for the Lunar New Year performance. She was a great singer/actress. I really love this song and so those my friends =]

  • Sad to hear of her passing. I remember this movie on TV, she had a lovely voice.

  • This always cheers me up. A beautiful song performed by a lovely lady.

  • She was so precious. I've loved Ms. Umeki ever since I saw her on TV when I was a kid. I cried and cried when I heard she passed away. I never met her, but I still feel as if I've lost a friend. She brought so much happiness into the world! I'll miss her so much! I'll never forget you, Miyoshi chan...

  • it's too bad about the audio levels on this. I have my volume turned up on every dial and can barely hear it.

  • Miyoshi Umeki died today on 9/5/2007 aged 78.

  • A followup news story corrected this date to August 28, 2007.

  • What did she die of ? I saw this film when it was on the big screen

  • According to IMDB, she died of cancer at 78.

I remember her in The Courtship of Eddie's Father. She was wonderful.

  • Id not known that she died.A wonderful talented woman.

  • A wonderful Broadway show followed by an excellent film.

  • That cute little girl @ 2:05 is Sharon Soo Hoo, she was attending Castelar Street elementary school in 1961.

  • 1961, I think.

The Broadway production opened in '58.

  • this is great what year did this come out?
