  • This was a great video not only for it's content but for how it was edited. It switched music right at the sad part. Almost made me TT_TT.

  • Actually, the videos DID break the Terms and Services. Many of them were removed...

But thank you so much for this video! It means a lot :)

  • @ProudToNotBeRacist That's good to hear :)

  • @ProudToNotBeRacist nice username.

  • @hotwhire Thanks!

  • I'm so sorry you were called a Nazi.I've had to endure that also because I am German, but I was born and live in America. it's very hurtful.one of my classmates actually believed that all Germans were nazis :( its so mean and cruel.this applies to ANY THING like that, all racist comments...mein gott they are ANNOYING!

  • The head of year for two of them knew me very well, he taught both me and my brother history and helped my mother change a flat tyre when I was 12. When we got a name, he was down on them like a ton of bricks. I learned from Mum that at the time (I don't know if it's still the case) but German citizens were made to choose a German name. Mine's Irish.

  • @halashet

    They started it.

  • Something else "Proud" and his followers have ignored. Asian and African people are NOT the only people to be hurt by European and American individuals. Native Americans got, and are still getting, a pretty raw deal.

Also: Asian dressed as Sailor Moon = Geek in Dress up. American dressed up as Wonder Woman = Geek in Dress up. It isn't a bad thing, just the truth. FYI Geeks are the coolest people to hang out with.

  • Finally someone speaks sense :'D

  • well, all i can say is at least you should appreciate japanese ingenuity, creativity, dedication, and talent they showed in creating the animes you now love..

  • @halashet And I do, however, as I said before, Japan has a melting pot culture. It has elements from around the world. So to act as if we're stealing from their culture is completely inaccurate.

  • @AcanthaDante don't nuke them anymore,. ;)

  • @halashet The Americans were responsible for that, and I'm British, so I had nothing to do with nuking them.

  • @AcanthaDante just saying...peace!

  • yay!! another anti-proud!! :D

  • You are one wise man =D

  • @shrll133 More like a wise woman ^_^

  • @AcanthaDante sorry! My bad ! =D

  • I love White people!

  • I'm half English! But I was born in America and I'm still here lol. But whatever, awsome video. Instead of flying off the handle and screaming at people, you made a good video full of truth and common sense. I don't understand how Proud can be so ignorant and hateful.

  • @LunarpowerCKP I think he had a bad childhood. Probably had some bad experiences with racism that completely changed him into a hateful person who wanted revenge.

  • i thought the person who invenetd the computer was american?

either that or he refined the thing which is it?

  • @NurseNekoNeko Charles Babbage designed a mechanical device referred to as the 'difference engine' which is deemed the predecessor to computers. This was designed in the 1820s, electronic computers weren't designed until about 50 years ago.

  • @AcanthaDante

arabic numerals were invented in india and loads of technologies including computers wouldn't exist without in. generally the west was uncivilized before the renaissance. and over half technologies in the renaissance originated in asia. but it has nothing to do with cosplay.

  • @RX78 Archaeologists have been believing that the west was more advanced in the Bronze Age than initially believed. That aside, the reason I included computers is because they are a vital tool in most anime and manga works in the present day at some stage, whether it is completely via tablet or for clean-up and colouring. The key point is that Japan is not 'pure' but a melting pot culture in more than just anime.

  • @NurseNekoNeko The person who invented the computer is called John Atanasov and he's Bulgarian.

  • Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for making this video! It has all the points and objections I was thinking of when I watched one of "VeryProudtobeAsian"s videos. I truly love Asian's, I think they are beautiful and their cultures are amazing, in fact their cultures are why I am taking Anthropology in University, but I couldn't believe what that person was putting on the net! Thanks Again =)

    LittleDarlin

  • Good video =) Very intelligent points.

What's funny is the origin of cosplay was actually in the western world. It came from Star Trek, as that was really the first sort of "convention" and people would create costumes for the occasion. Now Japan did expand on this idea and help create what cosplay is today (even contributing the word "COStume PLAY" to give the hobby a name).

We all share one world people! Let's be nice to each other and help each other up, rather than push others down. =)

  • @candace658

cosplay started in america. but cosplay on anime /manga / video games started in japan. its natural that japanese are good at cosplay because most anime characters are based on japanese just like american comic heroes and disney princesses are based on americans, though everybody can cosplay.

  • @BrainTetsujin17

You're right everyone can cosplay =) However, I don't really think being inherently Japanese has anything to do with being "naturally good" at cosplay. I think Japanese cosplayers devote more time and money to this hobby, as anime and manga is something they grew up with in their culture. It's not being Japanese per-se that makes them good at cosplay, it's just something they are interested in that happens to have Japanese origins, thus increasing their exposure to it.

  • @candace658

I think japanese girls don't fit disney princesses even good cosplayers or professional models. if you have the time read my other comments.

  • the proud guy is like the only one who clicked dislike XD

ps that cat girl thing is EVERYWHER she pisses me off >.>

  • @AcanthaDante is that u at 2:08 ?! u r not real german like me.

i have never seen such a cute girl like u!!

    marry me please ^_____^

  • @heerwa2 No, that's a feature from Proud's video. If you want to see my appearance, check my earliest videos.

  • @AcanthaDante So embarrassed and so sorry >_<

anyway white girls are the cutest of all , i can prove this.

i chose white girl as my ma ^__^

and u r very beautiful. have a nice day !

  • There are occasions when two people in different countries tried to invent the same thing, which includes the lightbulb and the develivsion. But computers and cars are significant to modern Japanese industry, and as I have stated, neither of these were invented there. The best way for me to put it is that they combined the originals with their own styles and cultural expectations.

  • Ive seen so many peopels responces to him/her/it, but I think I like yours the most!

keep your chin up about how people have treated you though! I've had people be cruel to me as well. Im amarican but my family is of German and Cuban imagrants that came over during ww2 and castro's take over (best of both worlds there! what cant people find falt with...) , ive heard it all...

  • For REAL! Lolita and gothic styles are of European origin! Japanese people always dress up like Victorian era dolls and Victoria was the Queen of England!! What a hypocrite that ass ProudAsian is. He gives REAL Asians a bad name. He has a Hitler complex obviously!

  • I'm sorry youve had to suffer racist comments from people. I live an was born in america, and yet people make fun of me becuase Im swedish. Alot of TV shows and forth(COUGH suite life on deck COUGH) make fun of swedish people's accents and traditions. And that proud to be asian guy isnt even asian!!!! who does he think he is?...

  • I love you, marry me please?

You use logic to its fullest power.

I also understand how you feel. My parents were stationed in Germany when I was born so I get called a Nazi a lot but you know what if you have to make fun of others to make yourself feel better then go ahead cause you're making me a better person :D

    Keep on trooping!

  • I Love how you made this video almost exclusively about the statistics and logic. I know that behind this is probably many emotions that were in your mind, but logic was put on the page and that is the most convincing thing for me. So thank you. Also with the lack of emotion present, it makes me feel more powerful against this type of unintelligent, verbal assault.

  • Logic is the way forward no matter how big an idiot you come across. I won't deny that I had a hard time because of my own wounds, but am I taking it sitting down? Hell no!

  • Thanks, I myself cam across one of Prouds videos and i was upset and confused by what his intentions were. I sent a message to him and he pointlessly made fun of me because i was English and not Asian, yet he claims to posting these videos and creating many fake accounts to get rid of racism how can he say this then be racist towards me "YOU Westerners" and as such it would have been much more polite to refer to my Username : / I think you have one this argument and wonderfully at that congratz.

  • Good job. You made very good points on this video. Some that I didn't even know.

  • I did a project on Japan as a country when I was in school. On top of this, my little sister is studying art and animation in Sixth Form. I also had a lot of practice in building arguments in English class at school. This is a result of that teaching and research with a splash of humour.

  • that girl in the webcam has a pretty long nose....

  • I'm sure Proud doesn't comprehend logic.

  • @ChuChiuxxTrain Probably not, I think my arguments with him made his brain explode, but I won them because I would say something he couldn't try to argue with.

  • Racism sucks...trying to reason with a racist person is like trying to break down a brick wall with a marshmallow...it just doesn't work. It's unbelievable how people can be looked down on because of what some people did hundreds of years ago. This is probably a main reason why very few people openly celebrate their heritage anymore.

  • I love you!!!

  • Thank you so much....I'm so happy that someone made this video....Anime is a form of art, and in anime there are western people aswell. I know quite a few characters with blond hair and blue eyes. It's creative, and wonderful. I love anime and I'm glad I have it where I am. I truly appreciate that, but I do not appreciate or tolerate hate or racism. No one will ever turn into an anime characters. Thank you so much, I hope that your scars are long healed... Love be with everyone, even veryproud.

  • @VioletMoonFire

in the 1960s, colored anime were not popular. in the 1970s anime, yellow hair means blonde. other color hair means aliens. in the 1980s-1990s anime, color hair expresses personalities. red is passionate blue is calm yellow is immature pink is innocent gray is mysterious for example. in the 2000s anime, color hair means almost nothing.

  • @VioletMoonFire

sailor moon made anime characters color hair popular. and the creator said sailor scouts color hair was inspired by the 1970s super sentai. lots of anime creators and manga artists were inspired by super sentai. if you don't know about super sentai, check out "Goranger" and "Sunao" on my channel.

  • @VioletMoonFire

generally anime characters are based on japanese. but anime creators introduce fashions into anime. lots of characters in the 1980s science fiction anime were basd on caucasians because of hollywood movies. the protagonist of space adventure cobra was bsaed on a french actor named jean paul belmondo for example. check out "AMV" on my channel.

  • you know proud always said cosplay is japanese but its not it ORIGINALLY is american but known a costume play. a guy from japan came to 1984 scifi convention called worldcon. he was impressed by the people's costumes that he reported about it in japanese magazines that it became popular cospaly was american but had a bigger fandom in japan. only japanese is the word cosplay by the combination of costume play. stupid git doesnt know that the thing he's fighting to protect is western.

  • I love also how he thinks Asians did nothing wrong in reality Japanese brutally killed Chinese during the raping of Nanking

  • =) You're a wonderful individual <3 I agree with you, cosplaying should be intended for fun not to be rated.

  • Yes! I love the attourney style you presented this too haha

  • You were completely right and said things that were absolutely intelligent.

  • This made my day Acantha :)

Not only did you completely upstage VerProudToBeAsian with fact and reason, but you did so politely and without losing your head. Good on you!

  • Trust me, I was seething when I watched his videos, but personally, when I'm mad I find facts work better than cuss sessions.

  • Your video was very thoughtful & resourceful. Great defense. :D Really interesting stories.

  • I finally found the ultimate way to get that proud crap person banned.

    1. Report all his videos for hateful content

    2. Report his profile

    3. Report the person himself following these steps:

    6ZLVVpCbuFw

  • @KawaiiCafeMovie :/ The only problem now is how are we going to remove his group that's going on

  • @shatteredXmirror Can't we report the vidoes for racism or something? XD

  • I wish I could meet you right now. You are BRILLIANT!!

  • I'm sorry for what you've been through..and the song was so beautiful at the end. That objection at the beginning was pricelessXD But hey. You have what I called 'Honor'. For what you've been through, you don't want others to go through and that is what I call an honorable thing you are doing. I salute.^^

  • Thank you for putting this video up. As a Japanese person, it means a lot that someone is willing to say something to stop some rather unpleasant depiction of Asians.

  • No problem, I have been uprooted and moved to different countries, so I know there are both great and downright horrid people in every country. But I've met Japanese exchange students and knowing about and embracing their culture is something that makes their week. Not to mention curecos, the website he refers to so much, has non-Asian cosplayers on it, so he shot himself in the foot there.

  • Oh i hate him, i jsut uploaded a new vid arguing with him, half of these videos he doesnt even watch he cuts and pstes responses cause if he saw that u hae actually went through racism hes afraid his heart might to beat again. *HUGS* great video and really good ponts

  • The real low was that he claimed that foreign fans are fine as long as they don't cosplay. Not to mention a huge portion of anime characters aren't Japanese.

  • Check my vid out i open a can of whoop-ass on him lol

  • @AcanthaDante LOL I know right.

  • I got pretty mad myself, but making assumptions like that doesn't help anyone, least of all yourself.

And yes, we can be friends, after constant chain mails on another site, well, I don't take random requests, that's why I haven't had any so far.

  • Whether any of those things turn out to be true or not, to be honest, comments like this would only fuel the fire. At the very least, I think I won a spat with him because I asked him why there are foreigners on curecos at all if it's racist, or why Asians have complimented me while in cosplay (even when it was slightly different in colour because of the resources available). He never got back to me.

  • And your video is Favorited for Truth

  • By the way, I also know what it feels like to be made fun of for your heritage. All I can say is stay strong and don't let them get you. Yes that country has done some bad things but so have a lot of other countries. Also know that your country has done a lot of good things and be proud of your heritage for it. Keep up the good work.

    -XIII

  • The thing is, it wasn't my heritage, it was a stupid assumption because of differences (In Britain, you can claim citizenship if you are born there, in Germany, it's completely different). Looking back on it, I should've told them my great-grandfather was in the British army during WWII, so he fought against the Nazis.

  • Well said. I hate that Proud thinks all people who are western people are evil and that Asians are superior to every race and that they have done nothing wrong. He has no right to tell us what to do nor does he have the right to say that all western people are evil.

  • And I hate how he trashes actually proof that Asians HAVE and CAN do wrong.

He called Rape of Nanking American lies.

  • @Phoenixangelgal

He called the Rape of Nanking "American lies"? What a fool. He should try going to China and saying that. He'd get an education right quick. What a douche.
