  • so awesome!!! so quite also!

  • DO WANT!

  • damn that is quiet

  • I always get excited over this kinda stuff. Its awesome.

  • that is awesome!

  • ..is that really how silent is it? o_O

  • Dude. Duuuude! You are smart!

  • i believe the revolver shoots under 330mps?

  • @cometaztheoriginal Indeed it does. The projectiles average 181mps. :)

  • @elitearbor what about the output speed? i heard about something that when it's under 330mps it doesnt break the sound barrier, which makes a silencer pretty effective... am i right? =)

  • @cometaztheoriginal The quiet sound levels coming from this particular combination are from the silencer trapping and cooling the gas before allowing it out, plus the relatively low speed (well under the speed of sound) of the projectile. If I were to fire a projectile that is even slightly above the speed of sound, say 335mps (about 1100fps) then there would indeed be a sonic crack and the report would be quite loud still. In short, yes, you are correct about how silencers work.

  • @elitearbor awesome.. subbed =)

  • @elitearbor where you find ammo for this?

  • can you post a link to where you got this silencer?

  • @vinosd773 YouTube does not allow links, but it is a YHM Cobra 9mm. It is no longer available, and there are FAR better choices in silencers for this sort of use.

  • i though you were dry firing it intill i noticed the smoke and little puffs of dirt shooting up on the barrier! thats crazy!

  • My $10 airsoft pistol is louder than that! good work man.

  • Comment removed

  • I think the hammer is louder than the firing

  • Very cool. I thought it was impossible to suppress a revolver. The concept works though. Good deal.

  • that's quieter than a movie silencer for fuck sake

  • If you can hear the sounds of the action, that sucker is QUIET!

  • it takes a very long time until your bullet hits the sand!!

  • No better revolver to try this on! Were you shooting 7.62x38R?

  • @CrotalusKid Yes indeed, Romanian HotShot brand. :)

  • Wow, a silencer that actually sounds quieter than movie silencers. Jesus christ that's silent.

  • sounds like an airsoft gun

  • nice

  • All i hear is the trigger getting pulled!

  • INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Dude, that is scary silent...

  • wow. That is QUIET!

  • that is soo cool

  • That is amazingly quiet.

  • I wonder if it's possible to jury-rig a Turbodyne silencer onto a larger revolver.

  • the hammer dropping is louder than the report, FUCKING AWESOME.

The nagant's ballistics are pretty puny though, like a bit better than a .32 ACP.

    I think.

  • One of the few silencers I have seen that acctually does a good job of silence.

  • an airsoft gun is loader than that

  • Exactly as the top comment said, never thought a revolver could do that.

  • That thing is ridiculously quiet. RAD!!!

  • sick , no sound whats so ever . id pay what ever to get that .

  • hey! i love this range! down near buffalo creek wilderness and northfork, CO?

  • wow never thought that a silencer works on a revolver

  • the camera view looks like a first person shooter XD

  • WOW!!!!!!! thats really really quiet!!!!!!

  • That's the best stealth weapon ever.

  • u cant here anything with the silencer

  • That's bad ass!

  • Are those bullets sub-sonic?

  • @schizoidboy do the math. "sonic" is about 343 m/s or 1125 ft/s. He says in the description that he is shooting at about 900 ft/s. 900<1125 so yes, sub-sonic

  • I love how people after watching this video still deny any scilenced revolver.

  • amazing

  • That's a pretty amazing silencing effect, even by the standards of other suppressed weapons! The Nagant is a beautiful revolver as well...

If I ever become a secret agent, I have a new favourite sidearm... though one might have to get a holster specially made for that thing.

  • That Nagant is rather lovely if i might say so.

  • now that I like

  • I would've never even noticed you fired that gun if you haven't recorded it!

  • an aditional bonus is that there's no sound of shell casings hitting the ground, unlike a suppressed sem-automatic.

  • Did you need to make threads yourself for the revolver, or did you change the barrel according to the "hush puppy"?

  • lol damn thats just like toy gun with that silencer on it. Thats damn amazing. Is that thing really effective with a silencer on it? I dont know much about guns but I have an interest in them.

  • @WhiteWolf56765 so you are intrested in silenced Guns? Quite suspicious, or not ? :D

  • how does it counter the muzzle gap?

  • How is that trigger pull? hahahaha

  • oh my goodness, i watched loads of videos of silenced guns when i heard from someone that they can't actually really be silenced, but this is evidence. i fart louder than that.

  • @UltimateVenom Well, it's unique design, combined with the fact that it is a very quiet gun to begin with, makes it one of few guns that can be legitimately silenced.

And its a revolver. Fancy that :P

  • I was watching the History channel recently.I saw how the Negant provided for a gas-tight seal at the cylinder head. The first thing I thought was,"Shit, you could probably silence that bastard".Looks like I wasn't alone in that deduction.

  • Wow this is sweet.

  • damn, if it wasn't for the smoke I would have thought all those shots were duds, impressive.

  • huh, i was under the impression that revolvers could not be silenced. Purty nifty!

  • @panikattak14

    Gas seals of course.

    KGB and such used em.

  • @panikattak14 the nagant revolver is the only one that is able to be silenced it is a sealed cartrage and the cylender is self sealing thats the only reason it works with a silencer

  • omg that is awsome

  • This is so quiet that people think you're just dry firing.

  • DAMN man, never thought I'd see a silenced revolver.

  • It sounds even quieter than the .22 silenced pistol video you got. That's pretty crazy.

  • Cobra 9mm silencer, im pretty sure the Nagant M1895 fires 7.62x25. How did you get it on? Is it supposed to be compatible with this pistol in addition to, lets say a Glock 9mm?

  • @FreemanLambda I think you answered your own question. 7.62mm is smaller than 9mm so he is just shooting sub-cal through it. When doing so it's a little less efficient but it still works very well. People shoot .223 out of 30 cal suppressors all of the time.

  • nice range is it on your property

  • Wow--it seems the sounds of the mechanism are louder than the bullet.

Though I think I heard the "echo" of the round firing--any data on how many decibels that gun is when firing silenced? And, if this old, old design can be silenced completely, why can we not figure out better systems for more modern weapons?

Good video, thanks--yours are always rather useful. My wife's an amateur writer, and knowing how loud "silenced" guns are is always useful.

  • @senselocke The reason it isn't a very much used design is that you either have to fire it single action or use the very hard double action, because the trigger pull pulls back the hammer, rotates the cylinder and pushes the cylinder forwards.

  • Original revolver has the suppressor integrated into the barrel:

  • sounds like a cap gun

  • that's brilliant!

  • Cool

  • Wow the hammer falling is louder than the gunshot now.

  • wow thats impressive

  • I've been looking around for a good revolver as my first gun and wondering if you have any thoughts about best types.

  • silencers on revolvers make them louder you retard!

  • @theairsoftbeast1 You know nothing of real guns,go back to airsoft.

  • @theairsoftbeast1 i think you'll find they don't as you can hear in the video

  • are these revolvers hard to find? and what are they chambered in?

  • @gotmini They're chambered in a very unique catridge, 7.62x38mmR. Unlike most catridges, the bullet is seated completely INSIDE the shell casing. Google it so you get what I mean. This, combined with the special cylinder design of the Nagant revolver, makes a complete seal between the barrel and the cylinder, so that none of the gases escape, allowing the suppressor to work. They're technically antiques, and aren't common, but you can find them easily enough at gun shows and the like.

  • @gotmini 762 Nagant. The revolvers are under a hundred bucks or so. I paid $89.00 for mine a few years back. The cartridges are pretty pricy but you can buy a cylinder that allows you to shoot .32 acp out of it as well. Fiocchi still produces new ammo for them so no problem finding cartridges.

  • Very nice! I'm assuming that you did not pick the Cobra for this purpose, as you state you have a G17 and P38 as well. My question is, do you think that a suppressor designed for a .30 caliber firearm would decrease the Db levels when firing? Excuse my ignorance, I have no practical experience with suppressors.

  • well, without the silencer it would sound the same LOL

now it sounds like the cap is just hitting the bullet LOL

  • I was told years ago that Dan Wesson made the perfect wheel gun for suppressing.

  • ive been wanting to get a silencer for one of my pistols but hows aiming with the sights being blocked?

  • @03protegeES You can still see the sights, you just need to "see beyond" the silencer tube. You'll get used to it with practice along with the bullet's new path.

  • Jeez, at the end I thought you were dry-firing, or miss-firing, all I could hear was the hammer clicking. I guess that silencer works!

  • @KimberLuv487 Oh, a .22lr trainer? I want one of those, some day. Quite nice.

  • @seanypatpatterson Another intelligent post. Thank you. :)

  • @CaldaroneRyan That is completely untrue. You heard wrong - the mainsprings are especially fragile, being a leaf spring and not a coil spring, and the mechanism jams if not taken care of. A hammer would be of no use, this is a machine, not a nail.

  • @happykillmore88 Significantly better with the HotShot ammunition and the silencer on than with Russian surplus ammo and no silencer. I was able to make a 3" group at 50 feet with single action fire, taking my time.

  • They are called suppressors not silencer.Hollywood at its finest.

  • @Kehmet14 They were invented by Maxim and titled "silencers" as a both a description and yes, a marketing ploy by Maxim, so that's what I call them. Suppressor is a tactical mall ninja armchair commando kind of thing. A poser at his finest.

  • @elitearbor Lol I call them a gunmuffler but you're right Maxim pattented "silencers" and thats what they are called by the ATF and the NFA of 1934. A gun muffler just sounds so much more mundane though.

  • @Kehmet14 Actually, with the Nagant, YES, they are silencers.

  • @Kehmet14 wow lol ur such a twat to think that. get a real gun before you think u know something. COD is nothing compaired to real life man. If you're gonna play COD and think you know stuff. Go in the military you will know much more.

like when you die. good lucky trying to respawn

  • @Kehmet14 Oh snap, you got owned buddy..look at the number of thumbs up that disagree with your retarded comment...go play COD or something while the cpu helps you aim and eliminate enemies.

  • @thegamechiken not really brother...

  • now ive seen everything

  • I love how he sets the Camera up Like Call of Duty... :)

  • It semes like a movie line bofore you shoot sombody

  • silence dead!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 45 people lost a bet on this ;)

  • how the hell do you silence a revolver? that makes as much sense as flying a helicopter in space

  • @stoopidoooo Nagants when fired, the cylinder moves forward forming a flush tight seal with the barrel so there is no escape of gas and therefore sound from that area, once u silence the barrel its very quiet indeed, the NKVD and later Viet Cong used them for assassinations.

  • @stoopidoooo Condescending and ignorant. You sound like a liberal.

  • @elkriverscott

New guy, just watching the video when he saw this comment.

    Attack ad hominem dude.

  • @stoopidoooo Your user name is quite apropos.

  • wow huge difference!

  • It sounds like the bullets are just stopping at the end of the barrel.

  • Dear Santa. . .

  • I read that the pre-soviet secret police used suppressed Nagant revolvers for assassinations. But I couldn't find any other information on that.

  • great video man. People didn't believe me that there was a certain type of revolver that you could put a suppressor on. now i get to show them and call them dumb lol

  • weak round, but with that silencer its a real hush puppy.

  • @Alexn1067

I wear real hush puppies but i try to keep quiet about it......

  • I thought it was very silent. Then I noticed that my sound was off.

  • @narkash Hahaha! Wonderful, finally an amusing comment. Well played, sir. :)

  • Does this gun still retain "antique" status?, And would you have submit a 4473 form to have this?, Just wondering.

  • @furryhater4life Some of the early models are antiques, but only the ones built pre-1899 are going to be antiques, of course, no 4473 on those.

  • @furryhater4life Most Nagants that are available were made well after 1898. Since the manufacture date is after the cutoff, they are not antiques. The 1895 refers to the design/model year. Presumably a true antique version would be worth a large premium.

  • @furryhater4life No, and yes. Only the few model 1895s built between 1895 and 1899, and imported here, are exempt from 4473s and Federal firearms laws as antiques. This was built in the late 20s, if I recall right. I'd have to check the date on it.

  • I suddenly feel compelled to buy this gun and silencer once I am old enough.

  • @SpartanXLVIII don't bother. that ammo is probably hard to find and expensive as shit. not to mention how hard to find that revolver is too. you're better off with a 9mm automatic - anything- that's new.

  • now combine this gun and a Webley- Fosbery automatic revolver and you get the most awesome gun ever

  • make a vid ofyou shooting that in the rain that would be awsome the sound ripping through the rain

  • It's barely louder than a cap gun silenced! That's ridiculously awesome, thanks for the video.

  • That's awesome! Though, It doesn't look like the sights clear the height of the silencer (or maybe just barely)

  • great vid buddy

  • where can I get one?

  • niiiiiice, thats cool as shit

  • Does this have a really heavy trigger pull? It looks like it does.

  • @aZOMBIEpanda It's a double action revolver...so yeah, yeah it's a bit heavy. 12# iirc.

  • perfect no jam EXTREMELY quite

  • silencers should be illegal ...

  • @raikiry100

    why?

    they are cool

  • @raikiry100

    Are you being sarcastic?

Selling keyboards or pencils to stupid people should be illegal....

  • @vbludov ha ha ha ha

  • @raikiry100 If you dont mind my asking, why?

  • @raikiry100 Move to california and they are :)

  • @raikiry100 stupid comments on youtube should be illegal. silencers dont drive people insane, but retarded comments drive many people to insanity..

  • finger strength

  • probably one of the strangest pistols ever used by an army

  • Hah!... I never knew the cylinder pushes forward to seal itself on the breech (or forcing cone?). Awesome video and thanks for posting, learn something new every day haha

  • I knew it could be done.

  • what's the caliber?

  • @oldstock1607 it is 7.62 Nagant

  • are you firing blanks?

  • They had silence revolvers in the movie Eastwood "thunderbolt and lightfoot", but those were normal revolvers so it wouldn't of worked.

  • click...click...click...

  • Bad ass! So that's that =^_^=

  • LOL

    That gun looks plastic..

  • @RockyShitNigga Are you serious? Yes, very metallic plastic. Prior to even bakelite being used in issued firearms...

  • Do dumbasses on here really believe all the garbage that comes out of their mouths? Im a secret agent and my papy was in the wild west BLAH BLAH BLAH....

  • How do you aim it when the silencer covers up the front sight?

  • Sounds like a cap gun

  • wow sounds more like those airsoft guns. great gun BTW

  • my pappy used to silence revolvers back in the wild west, he said all you needed was to muffle the muzzle with a pillow and then press it against someones head o_0

  • You are my newest hero. They should copy this design for the 500S&W, be more practical for secret agents such as myself that prefer revolvers over S&K or Beretta

  • @DangerD205 Lol At Secret Agent Fail. Not so Secret anymore is it? >.>

  • MI fail

  • Jeez, sounds like a cap gun. Good work.

  • that range is sick.

  • dude props to you that is a nice revolver, where did you find one?

im just curious because i live in california and the gun laws here are wack haha

  • @miggyjiggy10 I bought it from a military firearms dealer.

  • did he shoot? lol

  • goddamn. the russians make amazing guns. i want a nagant, makarov and tokarev when i am old enough.

  • @jediguardian10 Don't forget the AK 47.

  • awesome:D

  • The downside to that suppressed revolver is that you get 7+1 ammunition capacity: you can shoot seven rounds, then throw it at the guy.

  • @halfassedfart why comment about guns if you don't know anything about guns? When does a revolver ever have a "+1" capacity? Epic FAIL
