  • PJ is would be a better prime minister!!

  • SHES SO GORGEOUS OMG I WOULD CUT OFF MY RIGHT TESTICLE TO SLEEP WITH THAT GODDESS

  • what the fuck was that pig david cameron doing there

  • @bitcheata It was the Tory Party Conference. That's why David Cameron was there. More curious is what was PJ Harvey doing there?

  • I half expected the BBC to bleep out the bit when Cameron said "ITV"

  • They ask her a serious political question regarding the current government's record on culture and she responds seriously (much to their shock and dismay apparently). I hope Britain manages to expunge the shallow Eton-bred twits like Cameron from it's political class one day. "Run along along now and let the old boys club deal with these pressing matters dear" seemed to be the general message.

  • Awesome tune PJ...rock on girl! And...wow..guys...at least try to take your heads out of your arses...

  • I think that little spat gave us her best rendition of that song.

  • Go Polly!

  • That was incredibly discourteous to her, whether meant or not.

  • the primeinister is down wid da kids now lol

  • I'm in love again

  • PJ Harvey is a goddess.

  • BTW politeness and civility win here just by the very fact the huge egos sidelined her. Turning the other cheek always makes you more noble.

  • Love how polite PJ is. And how she makes Cameron squirm. Squirm!!!

  • ..I don't get all the Cameron hate, David Cameron is just as much a puppet as the rest of Society...the real rules of this planet are the JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Rockafellas etc etc...these are the real rulers of this planet.

  • @Dungarth So, we shouldn't hate him because he's a willing, dutiful puppet? That's worse, if anything...

  • @diskochimp ..You have to put yourself in his shoes before you can form such an analysis. Its all too easy to sit and commentate from the sidelines..

  • Man that musta been awkward

  • And I wonder if 'smantha has the first album? Might look a bit unsightly next to Michael Bubble...

  • ... Nothing, NOTHING! pj isn't a Tory

  • cameron is such a ponce, trying to be cool saying he has her album, then letting marr dismiss her answer,he came through gatwick in the summer, what an elitist cunt

  • Goodness she's good

  • Is PJ a Tory? Just curious...

  • Beautiful!! PJ just may be England's last living rose.

  • the fascist had to listen to the liberator!

he talks bout vietnam and ignores her whole album and britain. then she blasts him for 100% cuts to arts!!!!!

PJ Harvey for the win, sublime!!!!

  • Eeek "Yes very keen" TWAT!!!!

  • Wessex girl socks it to them in style. PJ is such a marvel. It wouldn't surprise me if she gets a gong within the next few years, especially as Cameron now knows who she is.

  • A political agenda through music not being forwarded? Almost as if the Manics never had number one singles with If You Tolerate This... and Masses against the Classes.

  • @m06een00 No, I don't think Marr was trying to shut Polly up either. There may have been a scheduling problem as discussed very early in this thread. However, Cameron had plenty of time to answer Polly's questioning statement. He chose not to by bigging up the BBC's and ITV's financial investment in the new building they were sitting in. Then the newspaper guy, hijacked the interview. No one in that studio had the good manners to listen to what she was saying or the honesty to answer her.

  • Pj Harvey, you are the living rose between those fools! Goddam politicians!!

  • Mr Marr told her to shut up? well at least she let her sing some words to both Brown and Cameron: let England shake you fools!!!

  • I always felt this song represents a 'my country right or wrong' attitude.

My favourite from an album full of potential favourites.

  • Bloody Marr shuts her up and she is so pleasent and cordial.. I'd have said, 'wait a sec and let me finish you bastard.. such a great chance to tell the Prime Minister how much he's fucking everything up. Damn you PJ, you can't let them stop you! Fuck cordiality and good manners!

  • [Overheard in the bar after the show]

"Fancy that, a girl playing guitar! Shame she sounds a bit of a leftie but she did so jolly well to remember all the words!"

  • Polly sticks it to Cameron...frigging Marr tries to shut her up. You can't kill the truth.

  • Its true this song just gets better every time. Those men all made me squirm though.

  • Few people in America understand the sway PJ Harvey holds overseas.

  • PJ meets PM. Bizarre. But yes, she was wonderful.

  • How utterly awful is Cameron. Jesus, it's like watching an 80 year old baffled with the modern world.

  • really she holding the flag for everything beautiful and precious of England ... i just can't get over how gracious and potent this performance was ... hopefully this will haunt Cameron and make him think .. given than any protest do nothing to him and his - sneaked in - government .

  • Great song! It is a shame we can see the face of that little sh*t named Cameron here.

  • Love her work and this is one of the best songs on the album. Chuckled at the way its lyrics at first seem to be played in the character of a grumpy Daily Mail reader! Something for Cameron to chew on...

  • This was sooo exciting to watch

  • Amazing, they both had to listen to her, respect to the show and PJ! Loved you in NYC! (Wish she played The Glorious Land:-))

  • hahah those two FAKE!!! pj so adorable!!

  • marr is so inept in dealing with creative types and we now know david camerons wife tells him what to listen too but that she appears so disconnected that it takes an award to get her attention

  • would have been a lot more interesting to hear what she had to say than having them going on the same old loop ... indeed she does have the last word with her grace and poetry -

  • @241247 sweet :)

  • Pj Harvey, the only real voice of truth here.

  • Stick it to the man PJ!

  • she has performed directly in front of two prime ministers. amazing.

  • @FaultYesteryear yes, amazing! hard core each time!

  • I'd have liked Polly to have a bigger slot on the show, even just a few minutes of seeing her and Cameron take her point further about all the cuts being made in the arts. I bet she'd be fascinating in conversation.

  • don'tthink that's agenda, more scheduling, but i agree with what you say.

  • @bourgoisereader yeah I can see what you're saying, thanks

  • So when Polly makes a little statement (1.28 to 2.05) that the world seems to be steered towards economic gains being the only goal of worth, she is asked to go and get her guitar ready and the statement is glossed over. Are they ever going to listen? Thanks for posting this video.
