I, as in ME, I think it's the greatest country. Mostly because I LIVE THERE. I'm sure someone living in Germany would argue that Germany is the greatest country, simply because they live there, have pride in their culture. It's called ethnocentrism. I'm stating my opinion, so please, fuck off and die.
@CrimsonTears2177 How can someone actually think that the US is the best country? I mean, is there even one? If there is, I sure wouldn't pick the country that has been in war 205 out of 236 years of its existence, doesn't support equal rights (being homosexual or atheist is not that appreciated), doesn't give a fuck about poor people and probably has the most corrupt government among developed countries. I could go on all day, but it's hard to open up a manipulated mind.
I always knew Pam was a cunt with something simmering underneath. She just has that dour expression when she's off to the side - you would almost think she was on Cymbalta and lithium....
Pam's reaction is totally understandable when you consider who Michael is: an immature, moronic, extremely selfish person who always demands to be the center of attention and who hurts everyone around him. (And who had been saying sexual comments about Pam for years.) And lo and behold, he broke up with her mother in an insulting way, on her birthday dinner, because she told him her age. So Pam was right about what was going to happen.
Is anyone else bothered by how she should say, "I couldN'T give a s**t about your happiness?" I mean, if someone Could give a s**t, they could possibly give more and the statement specifies a minimum, not a maximum, which it should state.
@AAA999XYZ - I agree with you totally, but it was explained to me that the actual phrase is supposed to be ironic, like there's an implied "like" in the beginning. So it's more along the lines of, "Like I could give a crap about your happiness."
@JayDeCapp The correct grammar is 'I couldn't give a shit', as in 'I couldn't give a shit if you paid me' ect. American people seem to think it is 'I could give a shit' which when used in a sentence makes no real sense.
Person 1: Could you ever care about me? Person 2: I couldn't give a shit about you.
Person 1: Could you ever care about me? Person 2: I could give a shit about you.
@purplemonkeyelephant Both make sense. As in "I could give a shit about you, but I don't" or "I couldn't give a shit about you if you paid me". Bottom line is, both sentences seem awkward without the ending part (if you paid me/but i don't) so it's all in context and you have to trust that the listener is smart enough to interpret the connotation.
@purplemonkeyelephant Uh, I'd say it's, "I couldn't give less of a shit about you," but regardless as to whether it makes sense or not, when Pam exclaims "I COULD GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR HAPPINESS," it's pretty Goddamn hilarious.
The phrase is, "I couldn't give a shit" or two shits or whatever. If she could give a shit then why doesn't she? What she said leaves her open to questions.
@RussianAssassin21 Pam's just an idiot. All that semen from Jim's hairy balls got pumped so far up her ass that it got backed into brain and at this moment it was coming out her mouth
Pam's such a bitch in the newer episodes. I hate this show now, and the way they ruined Pam's character is a huge factor in that.
What happened to the nice Pam who wouldn't put Michael on the line right away to save him from embarrassment? She's gone, and so is everything else that used to be good about this show ='(
@theSuperMetroid02 if you're refering to only this scene, then yeah i agree. but the whole point of this scene is to surprise you because she's usually so subdued about stuff.
@CaraBrimleyRules What you have written here is probably one of the most ignorant, uneducated, ethnocentrist pieces of shit I have ever read. You have shown that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and I suggest that next time you keep your cock holster shut instead of opening it and demonstrating your foolishness.
@DantehMan You clearly have no comprehension about the mastery of the British version of the office over the US version. The UK one was crafted over just 12 episodes with clever intelligent humour for the UK viewers. It is a classic that is becoming one of the comedy greats. It stands the test of time. The US version was simply churned out for series after series of toilet paper slapstick TV. You watch it once and throw it away, never to be seen again, rather like toilet paper wiping your ass.
@CaraBrimleyRules And that's your uneducated opinion. Also, have you ever considered that I might like both the US and UK versions? Because I do. They're different types of comedy but that doesn't mean one is better than the other. Like I said, you're just full of yourself. Go to hell you overly opinionated runt, we don't need you here.
@DantehMan i agree with him actually.............the UK version is MUCH better...........
don't get your cock in a twist just because someone doesn't agree with your own opinion. You like the U.S. version. Awesome. That doesn't mean you get to call someone else wrong and foolish just because they don't agree with you. Next time, why don't you keep your hurt feelings to yourself instead of unleashing them on someone on the internet you've never even met before. Talk about ignorant and foolish.
@tianang77 Yeah, you're one to talk about such things. You're as big a moron as CaraBrimleyRules if you can't see that they weren't just sharing their opinion, they were being completely insulting to the show, people who like the show, and Americans in general (what with comments about "dumb yank shows" and such). If you guys like the UK version more, that's fine, but don't go about being fucking assholes about it. And this isn't about my feelings being hurt, it's about people being discourteous
@DantehMan I see and being discourteous back by calling me a moron and an asshole IS ok in your book? Talk about a double standard i mean my god. You acuse us of being discourteous and then you go and be a dickhead right back to us. Of course you're probably so shallow you can't recognize it.
And how was i an asshole exactly? I said i agree that the UK version is better and that you shouldn't be so hurt by it. If that's not giving an honest opinion i don't know what is. nothing douchy about it
@DantehMan Of course, I have taken it for granted you like the UK version it is much better. Good on you if you do. You are probably one of the few Americans who can appreciate it. And I am not full of myself. I never even mentioned myself. It was you who brought the subject up with a cheap personal insult instead of arguing cogently why the US version is not crap toilet paper TV. When a person resorts to cheap personal insults, it simply shows they have lost the real argument.
@jkubed95 Well you are yankees. You call us Brits, we call you yanks, get over it! Gervais is no gentleman, but his humour is sophisticated and he is a comedy genius. Did he ruffle a few feathers at the awards earlier this year? He's about laughter, not mutual backlsapping and crawling up each others asses in the Hollywood style. Deal with that and be thankful there are some people in the world that can show you insular lot the way forward.
@ChadDylanCooper If my boss was a nice guy like Michael, then no I wouldn't. And even if I didnt approve I wouldn't throw a temper tantrum in the middle of the office like a two year old. Pam should've been fired for this over the top hysterical outburst
@theSuperMetroid02 Well, Michael isn't a nice boss. That's sort of the point. He's a jerk to his employees because he just wants to be liked. His intentions are good, but nobody finds them to be.
And if Michael Scott (or any boss), the boss you've ALWAYS complained about, a jerky and ignorant man, was doing your mother, who JUST got out of a divorce, wouldn't you just...I dunno...scream? I would.
@ChadDylanCooper Umm...he is a nice guy. Sure, sometimes he makes mistakes but he's not mean spirited. And if you were to have problems with his conduct you confront him about it AFTER HOURS not during work when he can fire you in an instant. Pam was very selfish, immature and unprofessional in dealing with this situation. You seem to forget it was a consenual relationship that Pam was destroying simply because she disapproved. But her mom can do what she wants. Whos she to judge?
@theSuperMetroid02 That's true. But Michael sort of just blatinly explained that he and her mom were having sex. And she also found out that Jim knew about it too, so that just set her off. I guess you just have to be put in her shoes. It's everyone's opinion. I won't get at you for thinking one thing opposed to mine.
@samskuse lol it does in our colloquial. Shit, as in something you do with little thought and little interest. or a shit, something no one really cares to think about. ok that was gross...haha.
@harvestcheddar0 Haha! I understood that bit, we Englanders say 'shit' in that sense too. But saying I COULD give a shit, when you are talking about NOT caring doesnt make sense. If you COULD give a shit then you are inferring that you do care in some capacity, when in fact the point that you are trying to make is that you dont care. We say, more aptly, I couldn't give a shit, clearly conveying the point that we don't care about the given topic in any capacity at all.
@samskuse Actuallly, I usually here "I couldn't" not I "could" but I guess here it's equating shit to not caring and spins of the phrase "I could careless" or "I could care but I don't".
Its also funny when Michael confronts Jim about Pam's mom in the break room. He asks about her car and Jim says f*ck which is a scene or two before this one.
#OMG If this happened in a real workplace Pam would be so fired. But then again, there are about 20 times before this episode that Michael did things just as bad.
I'm of the opinion that before Pam gained confidence she was much funnier, mostly because it seemed funny things were always happening TO her. Now it just feels like she's trying too hard to create funny. I mean its great for her character development, just saying i miss the old Pam
@ joe80dmanizanerd: well, i don't think is just because of jim and pam's "cute scenes" together, i mean, i loved the first seasons (1 & 2) mainly because of all the pranks they pulled off, especially on dwight! Haha, Funny as hell! Wish these last seasons had more JAM pranks, miss those days :-(
@ joe80dmanizanerd: well, i don't think is just because of jim and pam's "cute scenes" together, i mean, i loved the first seasons (1 & 2) mainly because of all the pranks they pulled off, especially on dwight! Haha, Funny as hell! Wish these last seasons had more JAM pranks, miss those days :-(
Come on guys, seriously, it's not about her character being bitchy! A) Pam's pregnant at the time...so emotions all over the place. B) Come on, the girl just got back from her honeymoon and finds out these SHOCKING news. What would you do after finding out Michael Scott is sleeping with ur mom? Duh! D) It was just too damn funny to watch her give it to him like that.↲Way to go, Pam!
@MerJamoff05 I agree, but it's still not a fun episode. They were in character but it was a situation I didn't want to see both characters in. It's probably my least favorite episode in the series.
@ThELaStSoNxx I disagree. I think they made michael simply too annoying in the last few seasons. The show revolves around its credibility. The fact that michael is really that much of an idiot, unproductive and simply annoying makes it very unrealistic.
Even if realism doesn't concern you, Michael sometimes makes it hard for me to watch the show because he's simply too annoying.
@joe80dmanizanerd Steve Carrell always had to balance Michael Scott between unbelievable and unrelentingly stupid although I think he pulled it off. As much as the whole Jim and Pam thing got fans, it was Michael and Dwight that are the comedy draw.
@Taospark I think Jim and Pam are only loved by women who like their "cute" scenes together. I personally never even laugh at anything they do. Jim annoys the crap out of me because it's simply idiotic how much he lets michael fuck up without ever getting mad at him.
I think Pam is completely in her right - I would of been a lot more mad. Michael isn't exactly the best boyfriend, he's still attached to Holly, and he can never keep his mouth shut. Pam knows all this about him. The way he dumped Pam's mom was probably exactly the thing Pam foresaw and wanted to avoid. Also, This is season 6, of course she won't be the same as in the first seasons, if she was I'm sure all of you guys complaining about her being OOC would say boring and repetitive the show got.
@dancealittlemore I agree! All these people complaining about how she's overreacting.. I mean honestly I kind of hate how they actually showed her accepting the relationship in the end. She had a right to be pissed and she should have stayed pissed.
Was Jenna Fischer really pregnant at the time and they just put it w/ the storyline? Also, was the real baby in the show, some actors can do that i think.
I don't get how people claim Pam is bitchy/OOC in this scene. If Michael Scott started dating my mother I'd beat his ass into the ground. Hell, if anything I admire Pam's restraint.
@tornarrow1 Actually, she WAS pregnant. This was after their wedding, but before Cece was born, so...yes, Pam is pregnant. So, in your words, "shut the hell up, moron"

Person 2: I could give a shit about you.

purplemonkeyelephant 3 months ago
@purplemonkeyelephant Both make sense. As in "I could give a shit about you, but I don't" or "I couldn't give a shit about you if you paid me". @blonddude207 Erin is fucking dumb though. i mean she can't even turn the phone off xD

@hurbaga Yeah I know. LOL

#OMG If this happened in a real workplace Pam would be so fired. But then again, there are about 20 times before this episode that Michael did things just as bad.

Dumb Americans, you never learn that saying "I could care less" implies that you definitely care a whole lot.
JohnZackarias 6 months ago
@JohnZackarias I have always said that and whenever I tell people they always tell me to shut the fuck up.
MrHeavanell 6 months ago
@MrHeavanell Your friends are stupid, stick up for yourself!
JohnZackarias 6 months ago
@JohnZackarias IKR? I've noticed that for years, and people still keep saying it.
"I could care less" means that you care a lot, so it is possible for you to care less. If you don't care in the first place, how do you care less?
minamu8 6 months ago
@minamu8 I think it's sarcasm haha ;)

@minamu8 Yeah except everybody says "I couldn't care less". I've never heard anybody say "I could care less"

Michael should have fired her for that statement, THEN she would give lots of $h!ts about his happiness.

I'm of the opinion that before Pam gained confidence she was much funnier, mostly because it seemed funny things were always happening TO her. Now it just feels like she's trying too hard to create funny. I mean its great for her character development, just saying i miss the old Pam

Oops! Sorry! 'C' =D

@MerJamoff05 you missed "C" ;)
Idkot1933 7 months ago
@MerJamoff05 I agree, but it's still not a fun episode. They were in character but it was a situation I didn't want to see both characters in. It's probably my least favorite episode in the series.

Pam just became a bitch period. Not just this scene but in general
ThELaStSoNxx 8 months ago
@ThELaStSoNxx I disagree. I think they made michael simply too annoying in the last few seasons. The show revolves around its credibility. The fact that michael is really that much of an idiot, unproductive and simply annoying makes it very unrealistic.
Even if realism doesn't concern you, Michael sometimes makes it hard for me to watch the show because he's simply too annoying.
I'm kind of glad he left the show.
joe80dmanizanerd 8 months ago 2
@joe80dmanizanerd Steve Carrell always had to balance Michael Scott between unbelievable and unrelentingly stupid although I think he pulled it off. As much as the whole Jim and Pam thing got fans, it was Michael and Dwight that are the comedy draw.
Taospark 7 months ago
@Taospark I think Jim and Pam are only loved by women who like their "cute" scenes together. I personally never even laugh at anything they do. Jim annoys the crap out of me because it's simply idiotic how much he lets michael fuck up without ever getting mad at him.
joe80dmanizanerd 7 months ago
@joe80dmanizanerd I feel the same way.
coolfundylan 7 months ago
I think Pam is completely in her right - I would of been a lot more mad. Michael isn't exactly the best boyfriend, he's still attached to Holly, and he can never keep his mouth shut. Pam knows all this about him. The way he dumped Pam's mom was probably exactly the thing Pam foresaw and wanted to avoid. Also, This is season 6, of course she won't be the same as in the first seasons, if she was I'm sure all of you guys complaining about her being OOC would say boring and repetitive the show got.
dancealittlemore 8 months ago 3
@dancealittlemore I agree! All these people complaining about how she's overreacting.. I mean honestly I kind of hate how they actually showed her accepting the relationship in the end. She had a right to be pissed and she should have stayed pissed.
holadios08 7 months ago 4
Was Jenna Fischer really pregnant at the time and they just put it w/ the storyline? Also, was the real baby in the show, some actors can do that i think.

@mchllwoods no she was not actually pregnant.

I don't get how people claim Pam is bitchy/OOC in this scene. If Michael Scott started dating my mother I'd beat his ass into the ground. Hell, if anything I admire Pam's restraint.
