I simply alt+click on the ground and maneuver my camera inside of my body (because if you alt+click your body, you won't be able to look inside of yourself). Then I find whatever the attachment was, right click, edit, then move it back out.
Isnt it easier to just Ctrl+Shift+R to pull up the wire frames then just pull it out? what about if you accidently launch an item far away? how do you find it quickly when undo isnt working?
Isn't it better to just add the edit option in the inventory list so i just right-click on the worn item from inventory and sellect edit instead of looking for attachments worn on my avatar ? That way i could retrieve all sunken attachments from my body. Other workaround is to edit the appearance, shrink my avatar, retrieve the object and then restore back the shape of avatar.
another tip about attachments. If the attachment is modifyable, rez the attachment (necklace) on the ground and create a tiny prim in the center position of the necklace. Make sure the prim has 0 for each rotation. Next you attach the necklace to this tiny prim. When you attach it, it will be rotated correctly for the attach point and you won't have to rotate again like torley does in this video.
Hey Torley...speaking of retrieving attachments...Is there an easy way to get your hair and boots out of your butt (okay, okay, center torso) on those occasions when all of them land there after a bad teleport? By "easy" I mean some way other than going through inventory to detach and reattach everything?
This is a bug (which was actually patched by open source contributor Nicholaz Beresford and never adopted by LL.) There are really only two ways to do this: Make that outfit into a folder and so when you arrive with shoes in your rear, you can remove the entire folder and then drop it on yourself again, or you can log out and in.
Thanks, Torley, this is great. I'm in a group where attachments have a tendency to either float or end up lost inside people's chests (darned pesky commbadge and rank pips...) So this is helpful, and I'll be sure to point our cadets in the direction of this video. =)
AHAHAH! Awesome tip! I can't tell you how many times I've spent half an hour trying to cam inside my body to retrieve something that ended up attaching itself all buried. Thank you!
Hey do you have to download this game?!?!?!?!?

Really good tip, as obvious as it may seem! I have lost attachments in this way and it took me an hour to figure out how to outsmart it!

But this is a good way too. Great tutorial.

Easier way. Go into wire-frame view and move your attachment - then you don't lose all your rotation, etc.
As for retrieving attachments that all attach to your rear end, logout and login again. They will be back to their normal positions.
