  • the achor sounds like he's holding back tears

  • I never met him personally, but I think I loved him. I mean, I really enjoyed watching him host on Meet the Press, and his coverage of the elections! More than 3 years later, and I still miss seeing him on TV!! He had that drive, strong personality that rang out to his viewers!! RIP!!!!

  • @OldTimerGuy58 Tim Russert and me went to the same college, John Carroll University in Cleveland. He was 4 years ahead of me. One day though I got to meet and talk to him at a JCU reunion 2002. I had a couple of highballs and I said what the Hell so I went up to him and sternly said Tim Russert, Meet the Press. Big smile came across his face and we proceeded to talk about anything for about 45 minutes. Even had a couple of drinks with me.A really good time..Really good guy..

  • @801liveable So glad you shared your experience with me. A person could tell that he was a gentle giant in his demeaner! I weaped upon hearing of his death! It bothers me a bit even now, and I never even knew him personally.

  • I am not delighting in anyone's death. It is sad when anyone dies, but the way NBC covered this was sickening. Russert had never been elected to anything he never risked his life in the military - and the coverage of his death and funeral rivaled a fallen president. The news media lost a lot of credibility with this coverage.

  • he was killed by Satanists ruling USA...they've got poisons to stop the heart

  • @discouniverse Illuminati got him...

  • Only 58.

I'm 56 and things like this really scare me.

  • @frantic1971 are you still alive?

  • Tim was just making a living - he was just a hardworking pop journalist - enfotainment - great attitude towards life. Anybody that takes the phony debate of Meet the Press seriously is very ignorant of real journalism which is fading fast but don't blame a good guy or kill off the messenger. Ed Murrow or Eric Severeid are dead along with unbiased independent news in this country. Don't blame Tim.

  • Funny, most people viewed Meet the Press as the ultimate test for politicians. If they didn't melt down in front of Tim (not Tom), they have proven themselves as a politician in answering the hard questions. Russert himself once said that he finds out everything possible about the interviewee's position and then argue against it.

  • Burn in hell.

  • Many a good man has left this Planet..John lennon,,Robert Kennedy?..Martin Luther King..Elvis,,George Harrison..John Adams..and now Tim Russert....WOW..What a crew I picked..You can pick your own..but one thing I know..I am happy that I shared this time in History with all them!!!JRingo

  • Wow Dude..That's Cold..Ha..ha....He must of pissed you off real bad!..By the way, I'm not satan.but close!

  • Ya know, anyone who has the power to spread the truth, but them spreads lies and deception doesn't deserve respect. He put himself in his position and deserves every negative comment. Their game will remain the same until they die off. Their game is to passify the public with bullshit, laced with just enough truth to confuse you into accepting it.

  • Don't blame Tim for being a hardworker and making a buck off phony pop journalism. Its not his fault the ignorant people of America are content to watch crap like Meet the Press.

The days of independent supported news are dead - America free press is no more - but don't blame Tim.

  • Dude..You're one step away from Camoflage and a duffle bag loaded with weapons..Lighten up!.We're only dancin on this planet for a short time..Enjoy it!

  • muted...what an asshole you are. You don't know what the hell you're talking about and it shows in your comments. Don't ever mention John Lennon with the same damn words you used....you disgrace what Lennon was all about.

  • Yeah your right. Russert was a likeable guy in most ways.

  • I am shocked and really sad that this happened today. Reporting is becoming more and more subjective with blowhards like O'Reilly and Olbermann going on their rants. Russert was one of the last true journalists left.

  • what a shocking tragedy!

  • you are truly an asshole

  • Yep, made me cry.

  • What a tremendous loss. What a fair guy- he will be truly missed! May God bless his family and friends.

  • This was shocking, RIP Tim Russert.
