  • Hey Bob, It's cousin Jill. I was going to email Polly, see how she's doing, but I found you (been listening to music) so say hey to everybody. Do you have a MySpace?

I love Katie's song. Didn't know she lived in S. Weymouth. That's the first place we lived in Mass (so long ago).

Hope all is well with everybody!

  • thanks jill! everyone is fine & we miss you. Kate is back in VA now :~)

Lets get together soon...time...time....seems like last week.......

  • wow Bob, i'll bet if i played that handsome old guitar it wouldn't sound as alive...just great!

  • COOL-very country sounds-good guitar,man-5*!!!!

  • Unseasonably cool Silvertone Bob!! Nice playing too, I'm always happy to see a vintage archtop explored from the entire neck. Mine was given to me because it was too much effort to hold her down?? Thanx for sharing.

  • Thanks David, On your Archtop...Its probably not an adjustable truss rod am I right? I reset the neck and re-fretted this one. As you know the frets hold the neck straight by their varied thickness. I used a tool from StewMac to shave each frets tang while I held the guitar in the neck jig. Completely dead flat neck (I dont like any relief) and lucked into perfect action & intonation along the entire finger board

    Peace

  • Hi, could you give me the model number on that guitar? I have one that looks the exact same. It should say S-700 or S-710.

  • sorry Neo, I've looked and can't find any numbers on this guitar

  • It could also be a 688.

Inside number would read 688(then another number, for month I think).

  • I love that picking! You make me toetapping. Great !!!

  • Thanks Tink! I love the way you play also. I've been watching your videos (can't stop) your voice is hauntingly beautiful! Peace, Bob

  • Really, really nice. I love your playing

  • thanks StikPivot!

  • Thanks Plasticsoul...I'm not sure about the Kay (could be) This audio can't reflect the guitar very well. Awesome tone out of her!!!

  • sweet old Silvertone archtop. I think that one is from when they were made by Kay yes? Sounds great. Very cool piece of music too. I love that chord you are playing up around the 7th fret...I think you end on it as well. Really nice!

  • Thanks Taxman!

  • My God, your playing is so real.
