I lost it this first time I saw this on the DVD... literally was crying I was laughing so hard, nearly fell of my bed, uproarious laughter -- lost IT lol. I'm glad it wasn't put in the movie, though, it's too ridiculous, as funny as it is (and since in the book Sammy did have a little something for Jonfen;D)

It is really too bad they deleted this scene--I have heard from friends that the scenes that were deleted, were among the best scenes in the book. Personally, I don't think it would have retraced from the story--it would have made it a helluva lot FUNNIER--oh my dear lord.

the scene is funny but is doesnt fir the story. i am glad they deleted all the fantasy scenes with alex and his harem and jonothan and the dog and his award ceremony and stuff. they detracted from the real-ness of the movie. thats what i liked about it- i know dzens of people who have taken trips to eastern europe just like this charachter for similar reasons

it was a part of the book, sammy davis junior junior was obsessed with johnathen. it does fit the sotry in a way, it tells about the characters hopes and dreams, and basically that's what the whole story is about.
