I prefer the microbrewery beers or the seasonal beers here in Japan. I am not a big fan of Kirin but of course I would never refuse one either! Hehehe.
i usually prefer bottles, but for japanese lagers - i don't know why - they just taste better in cans for me. the cans are available in the states, but only at like japanese/asian markets. also, i don't know what they are called (assuming they have a name for this certain type of beer), but last time i was in jp i grabbed a can of asahi aqua blue or something... oh man, it was like lighter than light beer. seriously, pretty much just water.
Orion is the best Japanese beer.

I am also a big fan of Kirin Ichiban. They sell it at target in the US.
