Really the US is not that far behind Canada. We have a government and politicians that have said that the US Constitution means nothing, we are being inundated with people and cultures not compatible with the homeland, our institutions of society- the government, education, clergy, media are now a fifth column army in our midst, and the list is endless. There are some that say the western part of the US could merge with the southwest of Canada to form a new country. Who knows.

Well, shamefully, Michael Moore :). The actual number is hard to know especially since the firearms act, which everyone knows is the first step to making them illegal. The government estimates 5 million haven't registered and that number is probably low (in a country of what, 33 million?). Only 6 million guns have been registered.

By contrast 70 million americans own guns (out of 307 million).

So it's probably really close. Of course, Canada has a MUCH smaller homicide rate.
