  • so goat's eat dry bamboo? splinter much? lol

  • @flamedrag18 She would go after anything you set down but bird bait definitely attracts goats.

  • I wouldn't have thought that a goat would eat dry bamboo, splinters everywheres.

  • don't let anyone under 12 years old try to get the bird from the trap. then end result... it gets away.

  • @Brettjet4realz

We let them go anyway he was excited to catch them.

  • @Colhane o well. he lives and he learns. good for him. glad he had fun.

  • idk i kinda like you and your video :)

  • Thanks

  • good vidio

  • He's eight now.

  • it not the arapuca its the old english cribbet trap !!!!!

  • Nope, sorry, it's been the "Arapuca" here since the stone age. Actually versions of this trap can be found the world over. Even here in South America there are variations of this basic theme.

  • Bro, I just loved that final comment: "Goats are rich in protein!" Great vid Mac!

  • lol urr kid is funny hes awsome too

  • cute kid lol

  • How thin can you make the cracks, slits, holes?

  • Small enough to keep the bird in.

  • The arapuca is not a deadfall technically, in that it does not kill. Mice and rats set them off on occasion but they tend to climb out. Larger mammals are usually strong enough to force their way out.

  • The trap itself is fairly light weight. Mammals tend to break out. It is probably better to set up a dead fall.

  • but what happens if a cat or some thing comes a long to have a look

  • Predators take animals from traps all the time, check your traps regularly.

  • im on about if a cat was under the dead fall when it was sprung

  • Indeed there is this coyote who constantly eats the hares i coaught ! Althoug i can't trap it cause there are alot of domestic dogs that pass by there.

  • can u use this trap for small game like rabbits or squirrels? ((maybe make it bigger?))

  • personnaly i think that a squirrel can very easily squiz itself out considering i had a metal cage which i caught some with and they could get out of a 1inch or less hole. it probably would work for a rabbit but you'd have to test it and block the sides cause hares and rabbits are extremely quick and might sping away before it completely falls. Whats good about birds is that there reflex is to fly away but they just hit the roof of the trap.

  • nice work

  • yea colhan made another video BEST day ever

  • cool

  • Cool ill have to make a trap like that.

  • loll goats.. ur beter off with a cow more milk and more meat

  • Don't fell to bad Dan, your just a high energy lad that really wants to help, gotta love the spirit. nice job Mac.

    Omniviking, Pat

  • lol the goat ate the trap. And you ate the goat?

  • It can be upsetting to see the process behind obtaining meat for food. Every time anybody eats meat they should realize that something akin to what this video shows has happened to enable that meat to be available. Mac is showing us how we can catch our own 'chicken' equivalent to eat if we need an alternative to a supermarket or fast food outlet. I also note that Mac appears to be realistic and humane. Another interesting and informative video thanks Mac !! Best wishes....Coote, NZ.
