  • You fuckin hicks need everything you fight for.if your not winning then fight another way

  • Yes we did come looking for trouble and we go it.....but not as much trouble as Massey energy And Joe Manchin are going to get. Kids are getting sick and he turns his back. What a man!

  • These people came looking for trouble and got what they deserved. Acting like juveniles and screaming your demands will get you nowhere.

  • wow you people have no souls. i think this was horrible. mountian top removal is a big issue to me being an environmental studies major.

  • livinsimply, if you're an environmential major, do you have any idea how to stop this horrible thing? How can our govt turn their backs on something so terrible as mountain top removal? Even if they say they're reclaiming the area, you can't rebuild a mountian. Aren't there any environmential groups who can stop this?

  • oh well they dragged them through the water1 boo hoo

  • The police were doing their job!!!!!! And i say they did a good one. These people need to get a life. I cant stand them.. And they need to quit filming our kids. They say they dont but they do, I have seen them. You people dont need to protect my kid. I am her mother I can protect her. She is fine at her school.

  • DONY READ THIS DONT READ NO READ NONONO

OMG I RELY H8 THESE THINGS TO PEOPLE... DAM..

    SO SORRY

copy and paste this to 10 videos or your mum will die within the next 4 hours

    DAMN!

  • You all people need to put yourself in the troopers shoes...just think if those people were screaming and hollering at you

  • What's interesting here is that not one of the demonstrators arrested has said a thing about the police treatment of them, in fact, many of us have participated in this conversation and those taking place elsewhere by directing the focus back to the issue - no child deserves to go to school in the shadow of one coal silo none the less two, or beneath a poorly constructed sludge dam, or any sludge dam and that there is no way that this would happen in an area of affluence.

  • Argh, stupid character limit. Why do spaces count?

Anyway, to be honest, I truly do sympathize and understand why the protesters are upset that they were rough-handled a bit, but I find allegations of "police abuse" to be frankly ridiculous. This isn't Rodney King, or that guy from New Orleans; it's some mud and maybe some carpet burn.

    But that's just me.

  • h is everyone in this society- even "criminals". We will face our consequences, we are not above the law, nor should they be OR should the state of WV be, which is why we deserve a new school in my community, this one is violating federal mining law.

  • The fact of the matter is that these protesters knew (or should have known) the ramifications of their actions. I agree with what they're fighting, I agree with how they're fighting, and I sympathize with them for getting dragged through the mud. However, it was a consequence of their action, and they should be prepared to accept it. Just because the state may be wrong doesn't mean that necessary systems (the police) should be criticized for doing their jobs (policing).

  • The people knew they would be arrested but there is no need for abusive or excessive force by police. This was non violent civil disobedience on the part of the protestors. The protestors asked to be arrested, they didn't ask to have their arms dislocated.

  • The students and staff at Marsh Fork deserve a new school in our community. No child should go to school in the shadow of one or two coal silos. No one should feel they must either accept an unsafe, unhealthy school or loose their school, in a community where so many of the community buildings have already been lost. All children are equal and deserve to be treated so. The kids at MFE deserve at least as much as the teachers and students of the schools where our elected reps send their kids.

  • Great video! The issue is what's important -- not the particular arrests or questions of police brutality. The issue is the on-going destruction of mountain communities by coal corporations, in particular A.T.Massey. Coming from a filmmaker now in Texas but with roots in the mountains, the video is wonderful and brave.

  • these policemen were absolutely justified! after being given an opportunity to say what they wanted to say, these people were asked to leave the RESTRICTED AREA they were in, and you're trying to sit here and tell me that their removal was unjust. this is not engaged citizenry...just ignorance at its best.

here's a lesson that *I* learned in elementary school:

acting like an idiot is NOT going to get you what you want (and neither is violating the security of the person you want to help you)

  • They were justified pushing aside an 87 year old woman? arresting a woman who left the restricted area just because she is a leader? arresting a man for asking for a badge number? where is the justification for that eh?

  • What the woman in the video doesn't tell you is Sarah refused to stand and was laughing as the police was dragging her and Hillary was given multiple chances to stand and not be pulled by her arms and refused. Nice piece of video editing to mask the truth.

  • What wstewart1 doesn't tell you is that the police went around 2 other people to target Hillary....Hillary was not in the arrest zone..they went after her...then put their knee on her head to handcuff her. Many people didn't stand to be attested and those people were NOT brutally carried in the way that Hillary was...wstewart1 is the one masking the truth...it leads me to think that wstewart1 is one of the opressors that hurt these people

  • She agreed to stand up and walk out. As soon as the cops put the cuffs on her she then decided that she wouldn't cooperate and collapsed. She was then carried out by her arms. The methods of Jesus? You left wing whackos are quick to make fun of Christianity until something fits your agenda.

When you bus in outside agitators this is what you get. Huntington, Morgantown, Philadelphia. Philadelphia? WTF? Socialists & wannabe hippies.

  • I was there as a peaceful protester and I was not bussed in- I drove to support those in the community in their efforts to get the children of Marsh Fork a new safe school in their community.

  • Ever hear of nonviolent resistance, the methods of Jesus? That is what they were practicing and unless you are not a Christian you should be worrying about your eternal soul for those comments. You can still repent but you better mean it. Jesus can sniff out liars quite easily.

  • This is truly what democracy is about. One day every four years to cast your vote is a small part of it, an active and engaged citizenry is the only way for a state to be truly democratic, to thrive and be just.
