Come to think of it, "D" movies, or is this a "M"(?), are a hell of a lot more realistic than "A" movies. The creepily amateurish nature of the movie, is like my life. My life is a lot more like this movie than anything that I rent from my local mainstream rental store.

There are a lot of incidental sounds, like the sounds of the guys leather jacket, and the sound of the girls boots. It seems easier to make good images, than it is to make A-movie-like sounds.

Also there is a lack of music. I guess that the music we can here is so old that can be used without paying. They are using it as background music (backing the sound of creaking leather), but isn't there any copyright free music that is good enough to use full blast like scenes from True Romance, say.

No way. I disagree. To a certain extent I understand your disgust, but it's beautiful to see that there is a moment of love and neediness from both these people. No matter what their age, what they look like, and how different their backgrounds are, the beautiful thing is the connection they find themselves to be in. Unfortunatley, Didi is emotionally immature.....even to realize she has a child to take care of.

In the end everybody wins, except Dede/Jane. Perhaps unintentionally, she brings to others what she can't get for herself: love.

First, she helps Lucky/Mike realize he can't leave his ex-girlfriend because she loves him and he probably loves her.

Dede also brings newborn love to Emil. When he wakes up and realizes the mother is gone, he is not at all surprised and he doesn't appear to be concerned. Instead, you are presented with the most pure form of love and tenderness in the entire movie.

Independent films like this make me believe there is hope for America and the whole world, because there are people who still think and do make others think. Everything is so genuine here. Actors are brilliant too. Any Hollywood star wouldn't do better! And the scene 1:16:14 is unforgettable, it reminds me of the great american classics. Special respect to Karin Anglin.

this was a great movie and a great story. The lack and desperation for love and a escape can make you do some stupid things. I think DeDe/Jane shouldve stayed and let Emil take care of her and the baby, but she was desperatley chasing her escape to somewhere far from her home.

I really love this movie.  It's so thought provoking. I friended Lara Phillips on fb and we chat from time to time. She doesn't do to much acting anymore, but has a role in a Forrest Whitaker movie that was filmed a long time ago but is finally being released. If you've seen any of her other work, you know she's quite a chameleon...She's like a comedic Kate Winslet. She's an excellent painter as well...She displays much of her art on fb.
