The fuck is this voice acting? Remember how Joker sounded a little more badass in Japanese? Especially when you beat him later on in the game? Why have you done this Nintendo?

You should know by now that English people actually like Jap dubs with English subs better!

I haven't played this, nor have I heard of a wii version. I only ever played klanoa 2 on the PS2 and I fell in love. This however, I do not.

Laura Bailey & Liam O'Brian have done some marvelous voice acting on the remake, and, in my opinion, perfom the best voices in the entire game. But I prefer the original's voices. :P

I love the klonoa series but after playing the wii remake I'm enjoying it but the thing I really hate about this game is the voice acting. I miss klonoa's gibberish talk and if they make a another klonoa I hope they go back to the original voices because the americans have ruined it acting american voices

I honestly hate the mindset of entertainment marketers over here in the west. Sure, lets give a character who sounds and acts like a child the voice of a teenager who sounds 'cool'. These guys are apparently still stuck in the 80's and 90's when 'cool' was the rage. Nobody looks for 'cool' anymore, just realistic and true to the original content.

Just putting it out there before I go to sleep, once you listen to Klonoa's dub voice for the whole game you get used to it.

You can't expect Klonoa's voice to be as cute and stuff like the original. Nothing beats original. So they decide to go at there own pace with this. Atleast they decided to dub it. I really think that people take the voices way to seriously and they think the game's unplayable which really they could just say 'screw it' and get used to the voices and play the game.

Lets be grateful that they brought it overseas so you can enjoy it thoroughly instead of importing it for more than the game's worth just cause of the voices.

It's just not as simple as that. There's a lot of factors involved especially in the audio department when you make a game and when you assign actors to characters. You don't assign a child's voice to a muscluar character unless there's a good reason for that. For Klonoa, he's meant to be childish, he sounds like he's 16/17 years old. Problem.

They've brought most of Klonoa's games out here with the exception of legends so I don't see a real reason why they wouldn't bring it to the west.

I don't doubt that, some people will be too immersed in the gameplay to take much note of the voices after a while. Others will though, appropriate character voices are important to many.

I did expect it to sound very similar to the original one, and it's been done before. It's still the same company redistributing Klonoa so it's not a pacing issue. Finding the right voice actors wouldn't be a problem, it's the localisation team's fault for aiming Klonoa to be 'cool'. Hense the teen voice.

I do think it's great they dubbed it this time around, the voices won't stop me from playing it myself. But you'll find when you get into the games industry that visuals and audio are very important as they set the field for the player; i.e the, world, space, characters and so on. This is important for a lot of people who like to be immersed in the game, for many this is why they play games.

Gamewise Klonoa is a great game. But the issue here is still the localisation problem with the premise.

You have a great point there and your completely right. And maybe the people who find the voice actors think that Klonoa should be the deeper voice type person, cause lately, besides Naruto, alot of male characters who have that childish high voice in the Japanese version have been dubbed with 16/17 year old voices just cause they think they'd sound better.

All in all, yeah. Their localization team really needs some help with the Klonoa series. But frankly we can't do squat about it. :/

Though it might not seem like it a lot, a large amount of games companies do like input from fans and people who buy their games. Everyone's input does add to something, whether it be easier gameplay or even true to the original releases.

I'm sure if there was enough emails, courterious ones at that, we might see a different voice actor come when Namco releases a new Klonoa game, maybe even Klonoa 2 for the Wii.

Sure, It wasn't what I expected at first, but over time, I grew to accept his voice acting. Besides, on the anime and cartoons he does voices for, he's actually quite good. It isn't his fault alot of the sonic games lack any really expressive dialogue.

To be honest, I think 4kids could do better. They just censor too much crap that it makes it unbearable to watch a lot of the anime they put on there. Remember, 4kids did start off doing pokemon if I remember correctly. I dunno what went wrong after that.
