  • Thanks a lot for the upload. It's awesome!

  • Very calm and warm voice, great educational video and thank you for sharing, how can you calculate the radius if more pentagon is added as a second layer on the bottom, I want to create a 12 feet radius dome and I have calculated A= 2.26 m and B= 2.00m but I want to this with 16 pentagons instead of 6, I appreciate your response.

  • is it possible to do this without the use of glue?

  • here is a good tip, photocopy it.

  • Great ! Greets Inge

  • Thank you so much for this instruction video. We were discussing the how difficult it would be to build and live in a dome. We have decided to design and build a dog house for our pup based on the instructions and formulas you provided. Your video is extremely informative and organized. We really appreciate that you have shared your knowledge.

  • El video es muy bueno y completo.

    Construiré algunos de esta manera.

  • Beautiful & informative!

Geodesic design has been a passion of mine for forty years. I had the chance to hear Buckminster Fuller speak at our local library, and got to speak with him afterwards. I think he would be delighted to see how this new medium can be used for noble educational purposes, especially when it involves his eco-friendly, energy efficient domes.

Great video! Great use of Media! Well done sir!

  • How do you tell what the angle of the tabs are if this structure were to be made of a hard substance? Great video

  • My kids are wanting to do this as a school project. We will probably finish it off with an aerosol lacquer.

  • Explains the concept so clearly my 7 year old grandaughter (&me) could understand it and create a model.

    Excellent!

  • awesome reference!!

  • Monolithic > Geodesic

  • @leopluridean On a larger scale, very true. Easier to build as well, provided you have the equipment at your disposal.

  • Thank you, Great info.

  • THANKS SO MUCH I REALLY LIKE THIS VIDEO I wish there was more of this quality on youtube. One suggestion, add more math at the end...is this the same math for different number of tiers and so on. THANKS!

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! I'LL TO DO IT MYSELF

  • A WE SO ME ~ AWESOME SIR THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR AMAZING KNOWLEDGE ~ NAMASTE BLESSINGS :)

  • Awesome!!! i was going to make one out of plastic straws but this video is amazing! Ill just make it out of paper. i wish we could do this in school

  • There are so many professional dome designers and manufacturers now. I googled it and found several: Timberline Geodesic Dome, Domes from American Ingenuity, Pacific Domes, Dome Inc., Good Karma Domes, etc., and .Desert Domes has calculating formulas for designers.

  • Thanks ! : ) I loved it, I believe I have the design for my future home! YEY : ]

  • Thank you for posting this its very well done.

  • Im gonna make one of these...no clue why but it looks cool.

  • if you want to know the diemsions watch 5:40 and 17:00

  • a very satisfactory video

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • I want to make one of those things

  • An excellent demo to make a scaled model. Thanks

  • Thanks for all videos

  • Thanks for the video :) Can't wait to have a house with a garden to build a giant one :>

  • well presented

  • great dome shots

  • Cool, thanks for post!!!

  • Muchisimas gracias!!! Excelente material, didactico, educativo...impresionante!!

  • I've become addicted to Hila Road.

  • very nice vid!

  • thanks for the vid! i am making a dome out of wood.. but this helps a lot! i can figure the rest out from seeing this!

  • Another quality video from Hila road. Im never disappointed!

  • Thank you! It is very clear. How would you make domes with more frequencies?Since the only way to make a larger dome using your method would be to make the sides of the triangles longer.

  • very interesting

  • Most excellent - thank you !

  • Great video, very well executed.

Wish they did this in Maths/Science classes when I was at school!

  • Very Amazing how you make all these cool creations, such as the Sun Measuring device, to the Lemon Battery, to this.

You would make an awesome science teacher, and I bet you would get a reward for it!

    Nice job!

    Invun

  • just finished making one and its much harder than it looks didn't use a base tho

  • are their any print outs of the triangles any where?

  • Wow, that was actually pretty interesting, one question though. Those domes u show in the beginning in englad, r they bio domes?

  • I watch all your videos, great stuff!!!..thank you

  • That's pretty nifty. You post some very interesting videos.
