Well considering if a wild animal does not react to unfamiliar sound, it's unlikely it will survive very long, the raptor was more than justified to turn and look. My qualm is that the raptor didn’t do anything as it saw the girl coming towards it. Usually if an animal fails to react to something unexpectantly coming towards it (such as a predator or a large falling object) it will probably not survive very long.

The raptor wasn't responding to what the girl said; it was simply responding to sound. Hell, when my dad farts in the kitchen my dog looks up. There's nothing farfetched about an animal turning towards the source of the noise.

... Combative gymnastics, on the other hand, is ridiculous. Also, the fact that the raptor apparently didn't notice a SPINNING CHILD less than four feet away defies nature and logic. Damn, this movie was such a mess >:(

It would be more stupid if the guy being hunted said hey look over there and the animal looked.....
