gretsch's are have a really awesome cystal/sparkling characteristic to there high tones....something that is hard to naturally come by an most other makes/models of guitars without adding effects etc. Not talking about screaming pitchy wailing highs either...if you've played a gretsch you'd know what I mean. Completely awesome....
