  • Honestly, I dont think the state of herhair has to do with having a perm. I'm natural and I can see that.Christ, my mom has permed hair and it's thick and down her back....longer than mine. I think that is more to do with the manipulation. She puts a lot of weaves in her hair. Not that its a bad thing, she just may have fragile her that can't handle it. Sometimes, natural hair get neglected. She's trying. Ngl, it doesn't look so good but it can always be fixed.

  • NOT EVERYONE's HAIR WILL LOOK THE SAME...Just because her hair doesn't look like what you feel it should doesn't mean it's unhealthy!

  • WTH is up with these comments. she is not the only black girl that relaxes her hair. people do it to make it easier to care for it and secondly everyone hair is different what she does for her hair helped it grow. Stop Hating!!! if you don't like her videos click the little red X button on the screen or move to another video it's just hair it's not like she is trying to bleach her skin white. like get over it people

  • Do you mind letting your subscribers know how far you came with your 2011 challenge before you closing it down? you were doing a great job and a lot of people probably would appreciate an update.

  • @aboat029 You will find the most up to date info on her progress on her other channel: BritPopPrincess. ;o) Her new haircut looks great.

  • Since you detangle on dry hair, have you ever considered using olive oil to aid the process? It really helps with any tangles.

  • Your hair is absolutely unhealthy and you quite frankly do NOT know how to take care of it. Why don't you learn and or watch videos of people who actually know how to take care of relaxed hair. I have watched a few of your videos about "helping" people and give them "tools", but maybe you shouldn't if those things are not working on you. I'm afraid that with the amount of views you get, and you passing on your videos as "how to" and tutorials, people might actaully be coping you. Ridiculous!

  • Your hair looks horrible to be honest. Brittle and dry, you need to moisturize a lot more. If your hair was natural it would be in be in better health and look much nicer.

  • @SeverineKiss healthy hair is healthy hair, natural or not. I agree her hair doesn't look so healthy in this video but i've seen women who are relaxed and their hair is long and healthier than some naturals out there. It's all about finding what works for you and your hair and keeping it in good condition.

  • Thanks for sharing you are such a sweet person!

  • I love watching your journey. Can you also do a vid about how you apply your wig or other protective style/ weave. It always looks good and I don't think my protective wig looks anything like yours so I would love some tips and a show and tell. Thanks!

  • I have been following your progress and Mate Bravo ....keep growing, Just wanted to say that I love you color hair. IMine grows like yours its color is natural like yours too. I love your twist by the way and Congrats on the engagement. oh Luv the vids keep them coming

  • Of course hair can be hair! But you really do want to watch what you putting in your hair and on top of your head, because you sure donot want to be bald like some people I have seen on here! Its rather to take care of your hair the healthier way, that way you wouldn't run into any problems! You see my first relaxer had me in the hospital, because I had a 101 degree fever! Yes 101 degree, so please don't end up like I did!Sodium hydroxide is a strong chemical and it is not good for anyones hair!

  • Yea I have to agree with other women your hair does look pretty thin! But you see when you are relaxed the sodium hydroxide is what thin out people hair, so of course your hair going to seem thin and fine! That is exactly what the relaxer is doing! But you see if sodium hydroxide can melt through a coke bottle, what makes you think it can do that for your brain and scalp! Believe me I know lol! You can have long hair, but it rather have it long and thick and not too thin, in my opinion!

  • ur hair is fine thats why it looks thin wtf can u do? staple stands to ur scalp? don't listen to the haters.

  • Do you cut your spilt ends ?

  • MORON

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow I've never heard "ashy" used to describe hair before. Do you think a product or mix with a diff pH will make a difference?

  • I JUST DISCOVERD YOUR OTHER CHANNEL WITH YOU AND YOUR FIANCE... CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

  • your hair has grown alot! Good job :)

  • your hair is getting so long now!!

  • looks great!

  • Your hair has really grown. I can't wait for me hair to reach your lenght. Really good to see you keep going with this.

  • but ur hair is growing like crazy. it's magnificent.

  • u need OIL. like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil. one of those. not that product u were using. maybe it's the camera or something, but i didnt see the juicyness of ur hair u were referring to.

  • Comment removed

  • hey @msakereth as i said before i'm not AGAINST putting chemicals on hair. BUT u made a point of saying there is a difference of relaxing it every 6 weeks & 2/3 times a year. Please be real, anything that breaks dwn the natural composition of ur hair ONCE or TEN times a year will damage the hair on ur head. As far as this channel goes, i think she still has a long journey learning what her hair likes, because i dont thinks the products she is using are right for her hair, including the relaxer

  • Love the video. I'm getting sick & tired of all these natural newbies & their higher than thou attitude. Hair is hair. There is nothing deeper to it than that. It is not a racial issue. I'm tired of african americans trying to make it a race issue. It is not. Do whatever you want to do with your hair people. Burn it. Dye it. Cut it. Braid it. Just becoz some of you are experiencing identity crisis doesnt mean we all are. Plz address your self esteem issues & the rest of us in peace.

  • @msakereth...Here, here!

  • I have been thinking of texlaxing my hair, I think I may take the plunge. Thanks for sharing :-)

  • i agree with @nicegurl35, i mean good channel, but i think we should all be honest, there is nothing GOOD about relaxed hair. some people DO get away with being able to maintain processed hair, @naturalhairgrwthshow should stop putting chemicals in her hair, as it seems to look thinner to me. i'm NOT against processing hair, but its important that people learn when to stop. what kina hairgrowth is she trying to achieve? long thin lifeless hair? We need more black woman promoting healthy hair.

  • @Pschool1

clearly you have not met my hair. It is 100% unmanageable in its natural state. I relax my hair with the SUPER strong chemical and it barely relaxes it! There are some good things about relaxed hair. As with everything in life....its all about moderations. Relaxing your hair once or twice or even three times a year is way different from relaxing it every 6 weeks. Ofcourse your hair will be damaged if you apply chemicals every 6 weeks.

  • @msakereth I know people who relax every six weeks and their hair is fine, healthy and shiny. It's all about the type of hair and knowing exactly what it does and doesn't need. If someone can go longer than 6 weeks or 10 or whatever without breaking and shedding, then fine. To each her own.

  • @msakereth "it's completely unmanageable in its natural state" you sound so silly lol.. you just don't know how to take care of your hair =/

  • @CRUNKKGLAM

there are plenty of natural women out there...why would you come on the one of the 3 or4 relaxed ladies on YT to comment...? I prefer my hair like this, thin or what ever this is what my hair looks like, I like straigh hair my natural straight hair looked worse then this so this is a lesser of two evils for me.

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow um?? i was subscribed to you when you were natural.. realize you're replying to me on an account CALLED "naturalhairgrowthshow". also, i was replying to someone else and not you....... hence the at msakereth in the beginning? not sure what you're referring to.

  • @Truthisification Do you feel some sort of satisfaction writing horrible comments like that? that was all just completely unneccesary and un called for. it really upsets me that there are people like you how are so bitter about life and feel the need to take it out on others...really does. :(

  • @Truthisification just because she has a white husband doesn't mean she's self hating, just because she has a british passport doesnt mean she's self hating, your an IDIOT and a racist! I'm black, I moved here when I was 4, I have a british accent because you ADAPT, I have a passport because I live here, stop talking nonsense, cant stand black men! I've seen your pathetic comments on her main channel, get a life

  • nice growth

  • Wow - your hair is growing well. I like how you keep your regimen simple. That is what I have gotten back to (clean, condition, moisturize) while in braids. This has made a huge difference in my hair (less tangled and dry).

You will def make BSL :)

  • What do you do to remove excess glue from your hair- I have a hard time getting it all out// Ndd if you use combs how do you remove glue from combs- @NaturalhairGrwthShow ??? Plz Help

  • WHy do u still call ur channel naturalhairgrthshow when it's relaxed? Have u ever thought about a 2nd one for maintaining relaxed hair?

  • Have you tried coconut oil as a deep moisturizer? put it on your hair while it's still wet and let it sit under a plastic cap for an hour or more and then shampoo and rinse. I'm sure your hair will be shiny when you let dry after that.

  • You should try S-curl activator moisturizer. It says its for waves and such but relaxed/texlaxed heads use it all the times - its got no protein, just pure moisture (i'm relaxed). Also, b/c my hair also tangles like a beast, i recommend creme of nature moisturizing & detangling shampoo and Organic root stimulator's replenishing condish. (make sure achillea millefolium extract is in there as they may have changed ingredients). Hope u read this :D :D

  • Yes its finally up!

  • i can see why you wear weaves, your hair must require alot of maintaining, i am african too but east african so ethiopian and somali hair types are more diff than west african diversity is amazing, you have jareer hair type in my language use olive oil mixed with malaab thats what we use in somalia, hair grows softer and longer

  • @iamsociallyawkward what is malaab?

  • Just read that you tex-lax

    Tex-lax = dryness/porosity

  • Ok my bad... I know I assumed that your hair had the characteristics of no-lye use. (I am a cosmetologist just trying to help) May I then suggest a light protein conditioner and following with a apple cider vinegar rinse. This should help for more manageability.

  • Thanks for this video my hair air dry like yours I thought I will have to cut my hair an start over I guess not

  • I think your hair looks good. I like that you showed us how you detangle. Your hair looks easier to manage now that you are relaxed and for those who think that you should go natural and press your hair instead need to realize that many people are more sensitive to heat than no heat and a relaxer. Everyone is different.

  • So are you in a wig in your other videos?

  • Your length is coming along quite nicely. Thanks for the part 2 vid!

  • I love your hair color and length! I cannot wait for my relaxer because then i can put all ur lovely videos to use. keep up the great work:)

  • I like your natural hair color!

  • I love your hair..You do a great job!! I am thinking about getting a keratin treatment on my natural hair..Any advise or thoughts on that???

  • you are so gentile with your hair! (black girls take notes!)

  • Great progress on your hair growth!

  • Your hair is JUST like mine, down to the thin fine strands, color and ashiness!!!!! That's my texture, AND my hair does that strand spiderweb thing. I learned that certain products will make it do that. Also, oils have made my scalp SUPER itchy! To help with my shine I sleep with a satin scarf tight around my head and not a bonnet.

  • please show how you do your sew-ins!

  • I also cannot put anything on my hair when detangling cos it gets so messed up. I only spray the elasta qp h2o leave in and comb it. You can try this cos it detangles and hydrates the hair. After that I moisturise and seal.

  • I'm loving your success in retaining length. You were my hair twin when you were natural. I can definitely see the benefits of relaxing/texturizing when it comes to retaining growth with our hair type. I don't think i could ever relax my hair but i'm happy you are having success :-) Hope you make BSL this year, if you haven't already!

  • I think her hair looks kind of like natural hair after its been blow dried straight. I also think that a relaxer makes her hair easier for HER to manage.

  • @ladybird955 no, it doesn't look like natural hair after it's been blow dried straight..lol but i agree with the second statement.

  • do you have difficulty (under processing) with your relaxers because your hair is porous? Also what relaxer do you use and do you have someone do them for you or do you do it yourself? Just wondering

  • @ce426

yes! as my hair is porus it relaxes very quickly, so me and my sister get it all on very quickly 20 mins and rinse out straight away

  • Have u ever thought about just pressing your hair out, to straighten the new growth? i think your hair would do alot better if you did this instead of perming it.

  • @pkmelody3

nope, my hair doesnt like heat, I used to get mi strand splits my hair just couldnt handle it. since relaxing my hair has been 10x better (to me)..I have to be honest

  • :/ i just can't see how anyone could find this better than straightened natural hair. it looks a lot thinner and harder to manage.

  • thanks for sharing

  • hey luv! i didnt actually see you use a moisturizer.......is it because of your hairs porosity? (oil doesn't moisturize, it seals in moisture.... :-D ) Do you have a water based moisturizer?

  • love your hair your doing realy well looks long and healthy. am a brunatte to and i hate it i want to dye my hair but am scared my hair will break

  • You can get rid of the spidery effect if you switch to a lye relaxer instead of a no lye. That will also help with your porosity issue. You will gradually see your hair getting smoother and smoother with each relaxer. :)

  • @cococure77

I use a lye! as I know of he no lye drying effects...this is just the way my hair is, and I dot use heat, so that doesnt help

  • do you relax your hair?

  • Comment removed

  • ur hair looked much thicker wen u were natural

  • @nicegurl35

looks can be deceiveing..Ive never had thick hair..my hair, low density, and fine strands

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow...Either way, your hair looks great, keep up with the fab work lady! ;@)

  • @nicegurl35

it was a big illusion, obviously short packed condensed hair looks thick...stretched out it was just as fine.

  • any updates on your sister's hair?

  • @torinakins

when she can be bothered...probably at the end of the year

  • thanx! hey when should i expect my wedding invitation? i can't wait! ;) yeah i've noticed that i lose alot less hair when i comb at 70% dry. i hate that olive oil stuff w/ a passion, it makes my hair too stiff.

  • b.t.w-i'm no so sure, buy do you TEXLAX' your new growth when it comes in, OR RELAX it ? thnaks :)

  • @cobainbride

    texlax all the way

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow

    thnx for the reply

especially despite the spelling mistakes :)

    x

  • I love the hair color and I am jealous of your edges, I got some weird Dragonball Z thing going on with my edges :).

  • @yunXhee

lol, I had that before..Im really careful, after I lost one of the edges due to sulfur, I babied those back!

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow Could you please tell me what you did and what you used to grow your edges back please. Thank you :)

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow Do you have any videos/tips about taking care of edges? And by 'taking care' I mean nursing them back too life after being careless about braids! -_-

Did it take a loooong time to get your edges back? Maybe i just need to be more patient.

  • @soccersprincess apply castrol oil to your scalp /edges maybe 2 - 3 a week. when you apply the oil make sure to massage where you have applied it and then massage the whole scalp/edges

  • @specialsfan18 I will give this is a try, thank you.

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow

What did you use to grow your sides? I have the SAME problem!!! i hate it!...Plus do you have any good styles for a protective wig style not one with bangs? Ive seen some previous videos but as im so late you uploaded them last year so didnt think you would respond if i commented on them...but you say your wearing a wig in some and would like a good shot to know the style so i can try to make a wig that looks decent! Thanks xoxo

  • You've had a lot of growth since the last time i saw you :)

    Congratulations, I'm happy for you
