  • your hair is to long at the back

  • you dont even need a adampter get an interpahse at guitar center

  • thers no mic slot on my ipad 2 .... but i know people do connect them so Im thinkin theres a adpter u plug into the base of the ipad where it charges,, is that correct???

  • @stevethebassman100

Correct...just paused to have a better look on one of the tutorials and there is an apple adapter thingy job.

  • thank you!

  • thanks. how do you plug the mac into an amp? just from the headphones to the the amp?

  • so i got that cable thing to connect a cable to the mic input but my macbook pro doesn't have a mic input? only headphones

  • theres no little red dot in garage band with i'life 11

  • dude it registers and i can hear it faintly, it is reallllllyyyy realllyyy low i can bearly hear it even when i turn the recording level all the way up, but then it still sounds static like. HELP!

  • thank you sir!!!

  • in macbook pro 13 there's only one input!!whAT do I do?

  • How old r u? The sound is real time? or it have any lag?

  • @AdamPotterblogmusic it is natural

  • thanks!

  • Radioshack ftw. Just came from there

  • i work at radioshack. we have all of this stuff :)

  • dont u need a preamp?

  • How does this work without a preamp of some sort? I have an electric violin, and this method does not work for me at all.

  • This kid is cool. I like him.

  • @themrmetallicaman1 Interface! You need a usb interface! you can get them anywhere....but you might not like the price haha ...you can get them from 50-400 bucks....of course the more expensive...the better quality

  • my guitar registers and i can hear it but it is so low i can bearly hear it, so i turn the recording elvel all the way up, tehn i can still bearly hear it, but now it has all this static in the back, any thoughts?

  • @gta4sergio did you check your cable first? lol sometimes that can happen and possibly it could be your adapter...hmmm....let me know

  • LoL 0:15

  • do u vever blink?

  • @GEAR217 Yes everyday regularly actually!

  • what red dot????

  • @Cancun2888 the one next to the name of whatever instrument you want to record.

  • @link0867 you look like my brothers friends biggerbrother :)

  • nice vid, and jw what mac comp you got.

  • I can use this as playing as a track if I wanted to record right? Like having other backing tracks with it and stuff

  • What if i have the macbook pro, and i dont have a microphone slot. I only got the audiphones slot.

  • @rabbsneitor Its the same shit?

  • @rabbsneitor i get the same Problem as you

  • @rabbsneitor go into prefs, sound and change "use audio port for" to input...

  • @rabbsneitor

Its in and output combined, according to the mac site

  • All i get is feedback, what can i do?

  • @rabbsneitor To save space on the 13" they combined them into one. If you need to use both input and output at once you'd have to buy an 2-to-1 adapter.

  • @rabbsneitor i think wat we need is a usb setup then instead so you would need either a toneport usb or just a straight usb guitar cable im probably getting one this week possibly

  • @rabbsneitor system settings>sound>change output to input>rock on!!!

  • @rabbsneitor If you only have one slot for audio then it acts as an input AND output :)

im guessing you have a 13 inch Macbook

  • @link0867 Hey bro-dizzle thanks for the tips but embarassingly I fixed the problem some few seconds after posting the comments

    kthnx anyway though bye x

  • Hey mate simple question, where do I plug the adapter into, the headphone jack or the other one (don't know what the model of my Mac is called or anything It's just hella big haha) Anyway so they are the only options plug into the headphone jack or the other one that looks like a circle with two arrows pointing into it and using either it does nor work

  • @LFrithable well it should be in the mic jack...The headphone jack will not work haha I do not know what the other jack you have there actually...Do you have USB ports on it? If so you may have to use a USB interface which unfortunately can cost a bit of money. Private message me for more details on the interfaces and your jack issue!

  • does this also work to the ipad??

  • @zheLL1407 I do not believe so...I have an iPad too. It can't hurt to try!

  • pause at 0:42

  • i always get shitty sounds when i use the presets, how do i get a good sound?

  • 0:37 photo booth moment

  • @Bob8199 stop hatin' on the kid. What's your hair look like?

  • @dirkbauman Thanks man.

  • @dirkbauman not like every other suburban skater kid ?

  • Man, when you get older, you're going to regret that you combed your hair like that.

  • @Bob8199 And why is this?

  • nice video mate

  • @WenchesandMead Thank you it means a lot.

  • ive got a macbook with just one input and thats for headphones. When i try to recording myself i just hear everything thats happening in the room on the computor. What shal i do?

  • @BucketheadfeatSlash Well you could run it through an interface which is a usb cable going from the computer which goes to a place where you plug the guitar in, and it will give you better sound quality than the shown adapter anyway! Just look up USB interfaces!

  • @BucketheadfeatSlash go to the normal system preffences ----> Sound -----> and select what you will use your audio in/out put too

  • nice vest asshole

  • @jakemconnor Let's be nice.

  • Hey bro, what did u mean by the " little red dot next to my instrument " ? :0 Please and thank you

  • @dimimusic101 In garageband on the right side where it has all the tracks (which are named by the instrument that the track is for) there is a little red dot that arms the track.

  • @link0867 Hey, thx ! :D but the thing is... I still cant get it to work. Could it be a problem with my computer ? D:

  • Hey, man, I've got a problem. In the audio output found in the Garageband preferences, there is no Built-in input only output. Can you help me out?

  • i thought you played guitar, that was awful!

  • @TERRANCIO I am a drummer and I experiment with guitar, the playing had nothing to do with the lesson.

  • he has a stereo adapter but you should get the mono. ur guitar cable is mono. mono adapters have one black stripe stereo has two. mono means to record two channels from one source. stereo means to record to two channels from two sources. so mono is fine since your guitar cable is one source. (as opposed to two sources of one performance such as two mics on one guitar for example)

  • When I connect my guitar via a usb cable I bought it comes up as c-media usb headphone set. I can hear it but it sounds horrible, almost as if its recording via a mic. Any way to fix this?

  • @GuerreroUrbano100 wait you are going via usb? what is in between the computer and the guitar

  • i have a imac to i just got mien on dec 21 waer is the mic slot

  • @tonysvlog2 It is the same as the headphone input, I think? You just have to adjust its settings like he suggests at the end.

  • did you use a macbook pro ?

  • @tomattosfutleimierda no I used an iMac

  • @link0867 oh , i have a 13 inch display macbook pro and it only has audio output , but it works like input with the microphone of the iphone earphones , and i'm like wtf .____.

  • @tomattosfutleimierda I have a 13" MBP and it works perfectly.

  • what if my screen doesnt have that little red button?

  • thanks heaps man, really helpful

  • @jasonrinaldi you are very welcome!

  • How do u get it back into an amp

  • @xolilcreight that is the problem with the 13" macbook pro, you can only use the input/output port for input OR output at any time. This means that if you are using the port for connecting you guitar, you have to use the macbook speakers to hear your music. Stupid design i reckon. I just bought a 13" macbook (not pro) and it has both. STOKED :)

  • @jasonrinaldi exactly thats why i am glad i just have an iMac. Macbook pro is not for me.

  • Hey dude I don't have a guitar cable to connect my acoustil/electric guitar to to the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter thing. What cable would you recommend? Preferably not too expensive! Like under $30. Thanks

  • @joselitodude this is THE cable to have i love these babies, the monster cable 1/4 inch instrument cable...they are great

  • @link0867 thanks man!

  • totaly over driven you nedd an interface

  • thank you soo much!

  • @Mrmattmarproductions you are very welcome

  • guitar center 4 bucks lol

  • Can connecting guitar to mac somehow damage your guitar or mac ? Does guitar get enough electricity and power through mac and ?

  • is that adaptor mono or stereo?

  • Hey help me please. My macbook pro 13 have just the headphone enter, so may i connet the cable guitar into the headphones ?

  • @DrBigas @DrBigas well no you can not do it it since macbook pros do not have mic inputs, a more expensive aproach is buying the Line 6 TonePort UX1 USB Recording/Modeling Interface. which has a guitar input but also a usb connection to your macbook. maybe out of your price range, but its even better recording quality than this,, you can buy it at guitar center just type it in google

  • @DrBigas yes you may,on the macbook and 13" macbook pro.. that slot is a audio input / output.

  • hey thanks..but i have a problem..the guitar sounds late after picking..theres a lag..thae sound comes late after picking..

    plz help!

  • @ninjaduderantaro yes i have heard of people having this problem actually, here are two sets of steps for you.

    1. Garage Band > Preferences > Audio/Midi: Make sure "minimum delay when playing instruments life" is checked.

    2. Track Info > Master Track > Details > Turn down the ducking slider.

  • hey again, what amp and settings did you use on the vid?

  • @MrEyelessmaggot i used the grey lookin cabinet same one showed in the video. i use a distortion pedal totally maxed out, and i believe it was Low 4, Mid 5, high 8-10 (cant quite remember) Presence was around 5-7, thanks for the sub btw its very appreciated

  • @link0867 thanks :D

  • Thanks dude :D took me ages to find the adapter online as all the measurements are different in Britain :L cheers again (:

  • @MrEyelessmaggot No problem! Glad it worked for you!

  • the song was stupid

  • @dejavu121 yes im glad you judged this video totally on the playing at the end and not what i was actually trying to teach.

  • Thanks brotha. I finally figured it out. The input has to be on 2, not 1. All good now...

  • I bought a small fast track pro tools interface. Is it compatible with garageband? I seem to only be able to hear clean sound...

    Thanks...

  • @setmedic Now is the interface a totally different input, like something totally between your computer and your guuitar, with what i showed the guitar is directly into a computer, but say for instance you had something like an Mbox (which usually is what people use with pro tools) you have to change your input. lie i showed in the video you have to go to the input settings and change it, there should be an input that that has the name of whatever you are using to play with.

    Any effects?

  • lmao dude, i love this vid. even though ill never use it it actually tought me something unlike most of the tutorial type videos on here. funny as hell too

  • thanks dude

  • Dude you should turn on the CC for your video and see the FUNNY things you DONT say but Youtube THINKS you say lol , let me know if you did it

Crue aka Ya THAT bass player

  • well dude when i generated he caption it said a bunch of stuff about bill clinton it was pretty wierd lol

  • real nice.

now you see why I want a Mac!!

    xD
