actually you are both wrong I sell chicken eggs from my free roam farm and dont think i'm bad for it i let them run around and have a better life than you people would think so dont go making acusitions you fat !$#@$@'s to journeyman47 (posted 1 year ago) dont you people go thinking what they said was tue
@123chickensrule They have factory farm so called free range chickens, that are literally crammed in a huge pole barn by the tens of thousands, and that is what they call free range, hes not wrong. You will not find chicken eggs at the store where the chickens get to run and frolic and play in the grass like ours, and be real chickens!

I'm from a battery farm, this is the best way to keep hens by the bulk for large production and in thebest interest for the hen, because it's clear how much food each of them are getting, they get clean fresh water. If you compare the average Battery hen to free range (i'm talking in the thousands scale not someones back garden) the battery hen looks in much better condition. I'd much prefer to be Battery hen than a free range it's videos like this which misleads people!
I actually do have Free Range Chickens in my backyard. It is so sad seeing chickens suffer in the factory farms. I will never again buy eggs from the stores. Even if you don't have chickens, you can buy eggs from your farmers market. Those chickens are most likely treated humanely.
i was quite disgusted by the first caged hens vid but well dissapointed wiv the last one. the last was very very misleading and dissapointing, so i seriously didnt like the last part, it was really bad idea and waste of my time coz farm chickens are not tht cozy mate! otherwise good job for keeping yo own chickens, good for u lol
free range and battery are exactly the same. they keep them in small enclosed cages like that, dont give them any vet care and dont care about them at all except for their hormone boosted egg production! it makes me sick!
These pictures are not typical of a battery system and its a shame that the people showing these pictures are not very informed. its a complex subject and not as simple as cages versus free range. free range has negative effects on the birds that arent seen in well run enriched cages. i suggest you watch the countryfile report on this subject.

yeah real sad, bit of a pity i don't care and will spend the rest of my days encouraging this treatment of battery chickens and hens. They're worthless and serve to provide cheap produce for me.
@jarg0n1 FUCK YOU u are a dumb ass these creatures are actually alot more useful than you they provide food for us and live a painful short life whilst u have nothing better to do than diss them saying there worthless but of course your wrong as you just said that they provide cheap produce which means they are not worthless to you...also stop thinking about yourself and maybe think about these poor things u bastard.
This is so sad when my mom bought chickens (some had no feathers) we slowly took care of them till they had feathers i felt sad about them cause they where cold side at night cause they didnt have any feathers. i wished people dont treat animals like this.
scorpk8 is right: eggs labeled "free range" in stores do NOT come from chickens running around in someone's back yard as depicted here. They are crammed by the tens of thousands in dark, dank, dusty, smelly, cold or hot (depending on the weather) buldings, where hundreds die every day and no attention is paid to their health at all; some deaths are simply considered part of the "business cost".
This vid is very misleading; don't buy eggs unless you SEE for YOURSELF the farm they come from.
What journeyman47 says is absolutely correct. This video is VERY misleading, and to add to that, many so called "Free Range" eggs come from the exact same exploiters that own the factory farms. The majority of their hens are tortured in factory farms, while a smaller percentage live out their lives in shitty poll barns with a door cracked.
DON'T BELIEVE THIS VIDEO. LIKE J'MAN47 SAYS "SEE FOR YOURSELF" before you buy.
your a mug bruv, where did i say that these chicken supply supermarket eggs. the whole point of the video is to stop poeple buying supermarket eggs and keep their own chickens!
@afnuk You should specify that. This vid is totally false in the way you approach it that "free range" eggs and happy birds running around in a back yard. The U.S. laws state that to be called "free range" all they have to have is X number hours of sun and X number of hours to ground. all they do is place the cages on the dirt ground and open the windows for a couple hours. Bravo for keeping u'r own chickens! (we do too) but be more clear what you mean.

If we all had happy chickens in our backyards, we wouldn't be buying anything from the corporate breeders.
Love the second half of the video, the Queen is perfect. Happy hens make tastier healthier eggs.

free range are no less cruel unless they live in your back garden. store bought free range eggs is just as bad sometimes worst than battery.
