His mother escaped with him and his brothers to his maternal aunt's house, his mother's sister, when he was 7 years old. His mother wanted to protect them from their father's abuse. I connect a lot with this song especially the lyrics: "Calls her man her great white hope. Says she's fine she'll always cope" and "so free her!" I went through a similar thing to Roland when I was young...............

Ok let's clear this up, what you people trashing Lyrica don't know is that:
1. she was performing with Ike turner on this program and had literally just left the stage going buck wild doing Proud Mary, had two minutes to change into the gown and also change into the slow groove of the song.
2. she was added to that song because Oleta could not be there.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON, she was not in any way "trying" to replace her, she was just doing her JOB. OK???
I'm sorry, I know Oleta can't just be there every damn time they play the song, but that was REALLY weak ): Roland, Curt and the orchestra were great, though. It would be perfect if it was Oleta singing :D

I have been a fan of TFF for the better of 30 years but I have never heard this until now.......I need to explore my horizons more because this is just beautiful music!
I like all the TFF´ songs, especially this "Woman in chains". I heard many versions of this song and must say that this one is great thanks to the orchestral music. Why? There is some darkness in it which highlights the idea and seriousness of this song. At the same way I must say that Oleta Adams is just one and only.. But it might sound quite well with Lara Fabian too. Anyway, I really envy people who were to their concerts. There must be bombastic atmosphere.
I just wish the Manila, Philippines concert was captured somehow... check out the videos on Youtube from last May. You would not believe the energy in the coliseum.

I saw these guys in concert the other night and they were great! I had marginalized Curt thinking he was not a big part of the show but he really is and has a strong stage presence. And of course Roland is a singing stud.

I like all the TFF´ songs, especially this "Woman in chains". I heard many versions of this song and must say that this one is great thanks to the orchestral music. Why? There is some darkness in it which highlights the idea and seriousness of this song. At the same way I must say that Oleta Adams is just one and only.. But it might sound quite well with Lara Fabian too. Anyway, I really envy people who were to their concerts. There must be bombastic atmosphere.

I just wish the Manila, Philippines concert was captured somehow... check out the videos on Youtube from last May. You would not believe the energy in the coliseum.

Man, huge production, sounded great, wondered how much the concert netted. Roland and Curt sounded amazing in this concert. Wonder if the concert in USA is on this level?

I'm sorry but i don't like her... you can tell she is trying to do her thing and she mest up the song big time...she might be good for her own personal thing but NOT for this....
it look's that she forgot that there some song that you need to keep the Authenticity of the song and this is on of those song's. Unless you are really, really goin to exceeds Oletta Adams skill's is better to Imitate Oletta and she would of been ok.... I liked the Orchestra version...

Nice sound and orchestral mix but the female singer is really LAME !!

It spoils the whole song IMHO, Oleta Adams blew the doors off this baby
and Oleta's and Roland's vocal in this song were just magical, they sent shivers
down my spine the first time I heard it.

I saw these guys in concert the other night and they were great! I had marginalized Curt thinking he was not a big part of the show but he really is and has a strong stage presence. And of course Roland is a singing stud.
