  • Perfectly arranged for Piano.

I looked through your site for the score, but couldn't find it. help? :)

  • @mightybagrutlord Sure. The PDF files of the scores are in the "music" section. In the upper right there is a navigation menu, so click on "music". It also has a huge PDF icon beside it with music notes on it. Use your browser's search function to look for "Lilium". To download the score, click on the PDF icon that appears to the right of it. Hope that helps.

  • @zeryx28

Great! can't believe i missed it lol.. Thanks :D

(btw u got a like and subscription from me! :D)

  • wow you are the best

  • this song is like alcohol, its a depressant but it feels so good..

  • @Maguslavos Yes, please see video description.

and yet deep and emotional. i dont even mind the recording quality

  • that is so beautiful it moved me to tears! brava!!

  • wow...that was absolutely amazing<3 i loved it so much...u're a really good player

just one thing, do u know where can i find the notes of what u just played? i loved it so much that i wanna play it myself...if u do can u please tell me...thanks ^__^

  • I LOVE THIS ♥

Can u send me a midi too? :D

  • To me this arrangement alone is a enough to stand put there with the like of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. Just because of how simply beautiful it is, the funny thing is it was written for an anime. Yes that's how bad ass the Japanese are at making classical music.

  • This is the best arrangement of me to hear (and already played :))!!!

Only I did not get to play as softly as you:(

    (sorry for my bad English)

  • @zheka201029 your grammar is alright.. :D

  • im watch you play and i try and repeat it 8 times and now i can play Lilium like you

so lilium is not a hard song to play on piano you guys could play it too ^__^

  • excellente interprétation , et la meilleure transcription qui existe ! continues ainsi :)

  • hes really good srry if im wrong about your gender

  • lol i just went to your website, and got the midi! XD oh, and i heard your @nokia gugue@ ! its amazing! im gonna try to learn it :)

  • omg! this is so cool! i love your version! do you have a midi file with this song? :( plz! i reeeaally want to learn youir version soo bad! XD

  • I loved it, you're very talented.

  • Can't play after 55s ... epic ... you are awesome and I'm training hard to get this master piece on my keyboard :p

  • The piano sounds a bit strange / out of tune, but anyway the arrangement is wonderful!!!

Is the score on your website your arrangement?? I will practice on it definitely~~~

Also, I would like to know what software did you use and how did you make the score.

Did you first record on a digital piano, save as midi, than edit by a score software?? Or you just click all the notes into the computer??

    THX~~~

  • Oh wow, I just finished arranging my own version of this a few weeks ago. No comparison to yours -- awesome performance and arrangement.

  • I loved that version thanks a lot, you are a great player. I wished I played like that, I'm learning alone and I hope one day I'll be a great player just like you :)!!! I will practice this song, do you have more songs from other anime or movie???

  • @Greshinsu Thanks. I haven't arranged too much anime music (because I am so picky about my music!). Most of my work on YouTube are piano arrangements of soundtracks featured in video games, such as the Final Fantasy video game series.

  • So great, this song makes me feel calm and it really touches my hear, and your so great on the piano, i love it, and thank you for sharing it.

  • Speechless. I've been searching for the past 25 minutes for a good version, and you've exceeded every single expectation I ever had.

    This is beyond beautiful.

I'd give you a standing applaud if you could see it.

Bravo, well done, and I hope to one day be half as talented as you in whatever I may commit my life too.

  • This song is incredibly beautiful. Ever since I first heard it I've wanted to play it on the piano. I'm in a beginner's piano class right now, but one day I aim to play this song.

In the mean time, maybe I'll bring in the sheet music and have my piano teacher play it for the class XD

  • @loplop808 es hermosa y te apoyo jajaja no se ingles (Y)

  • I'm actually speehless.

  • This truly is beautiful. I have to offer you the highest praises for interpreting Lilium so perfectly; this translation has lost none of the haunting, near-holy feel of the song. Lilium is a song I find affects me greatly, and it has been truly heartening to find it in the medium of the piano. I myself am dedicated to learning this one day, when the resources are available to me. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece, and thank you again for allowing others to learn it.

    -Darktayle

  • @MistressDarktayle Oh why thankyou! Your comment made my day. :)

  • When I play this song, I just feel my soul pouring out on it... so therapeutic to play when nothing else feels right.

    Thank you. :)

  • @QueenErrr I know what you mean. :)

  • si! fui el numero 100 en votar que me gusta este video! :D

Usen GOOGLE TRADUCTOR para entender lo que digo :o

  • @zeryx28 It might have to be the main part up to about 1:30, coursework/revision is stopping me having the time to learn the extended part for a while.. Might be a while as I will only upload it with 0 mistakes, might take a few attempts but I'll have it up as soon as I can

  • This is a wonderful, beautiful arrangement. The best I've heard for this song.

  • 0:54-1:03 is so much fun :'D just need to learn the bit from 1:35-2:20 and I can play the whole thing.. as long as the bit after 2:20 IS repeated and doesn't just look and sound like stuff I know from earlier on..? :P

  • @ButForMeItWasTuesday The material from 2:20 onward is indeed an exact repetition of an earlier passage. Glad you are enjoying my arrangement. Can't wait to hear it!

  • T__T awwwwwwwwwwww it is so beautiful...

  • beautiful! absolutely beautiful!

  • Who could dislike this XD

  • your performance evaluation is 100%! ;3

  • im so confused. How come you play the note "F" on the left hand to start off with, but in the sheet music it says C#?

  • @i6o4 As per my response to your other comment, the left hand is written in the bass clef, so the first note is really E sharp, which is enharmonic to F.

  • @zeryx28 Thanks... this is my first sheet music that I have ever read, or began to learn so it's very very... difficult.

  • @i6o4 Ah I see. Well, not to be discouraging or anything, but the difficulty level of this piece is "high intermediate" so it isn't something I would recommend to a beginner. Are you learning piano with a teacher? or are you learning on your own? I would suggest to start with something simpler, like pieces from a beginning pianist book, that focus on hands-separately playing.

  • @zeryx28 I can play with both hands, but I've never learned a piece by reading sheet music. I've only learned by watching and imitating or listening (for the melody). I've never taken any lessons, so it's all self-taught.

  • This video is absolutely brilliant. So far, I have not found a SINGLE cover of Lilium as fantastic as this. Like theunsanereaper said, you are the ONLY one who plays the true version of Lilium on YouTube. Hearing you play this...sometimes it brings tears to my eyes. To anyone reading this, I strongly recommend that you watch Elfen Lied if you haven't already.

  • @32ROCKERCHICK32 Aww thanks. :)

  • either the piano is out of tune or the camera's audio made it sharp, but its well played, and I saw your arrangement. Its well written and understandable. I'm glad I found it :)

  • @PunkPotterKid7 It's likely the camera's audio made it sharp because my piano sounds normal in real life, aside from having not been tuned in 16 years. Anyway, thanks for writing in. Glad you found my arrangement useful.

  • @zeryx28 its nothing. How long have you studied theory for? I still fail at arranging...and writing xP

  • @PunkPotterKid7 Hmm ... that's a tough question to answer, but if I were to count the years from when I first started studying music theory until now (as I am still learning), it would be about 17 years. When I am arranging any music, whether it is "classical", pop, or anime, I always draw in what I have learned from traditional music theory, so I would say it is half technical and half aesthetic. Can you tell me more about your involvement with music?

  • In the chorus i highly reccomend that you trie to imitate the rythm with your voice as you play it.

  • wow, great job

  • im able to play the chorus well but i would like to know the fingerings yu use in the chorus

  • hi im just learning to play the piano any tips?

  • @PoppyxRed Slow practice and hands separately at first. It seems most people have trouble with the triplet passage. Fingering is especially important there. Always try to imagine the singer singing the song when you are playing. It will help you shape the phrases. Good luck! :)

  • @zeryx28 thank-you x

  • @zeryx28Thanks for the tips!!! I finally got through the chrous! :)

  • Wow, this version is incredible. Very well played.

  • wonderful

  • I can't read piano music.. so i usually have to watch, listen, and play. :[

Well starting day 1 of this song, bahaha.

    You play so beautifully.

  • Oh my gosh, you make it look so easy!!!! I'm stuck on the chorus. My fingers just don't want to work with me. But anyway, Great Playing!!!!

  • @MusicIsMyLife5656 Aw shucks .. Yes, the chorus is one of the trickier parts of this piece. My advice would be to leave out the triplet layer when practicing. Then practice the voice with the triplets separately, following the fingering and hand distribution I have suggested. And then finally combine them together. Good luck!

  • @zeryx28 ao you first play both alone and try playing the triplets faster and faster?

  • @OneAndOnlyShocra Not quite ... what I meant to say was first practice without the voice with the triplets. Then practice the voice with the triplets alone, using the hand distribution and fingering I have suggested. And /then/ practice with all the parts together.

  • @OneAndOnlyShocra the chorus is a very tricky part.... you/ll get it with practice thou, goodluck... try learning all the notes first and slowly speed up the pace as well

  • @PSNDemonwing yeah i'm trying. but i think i don't play it continually enough so it takes a big time^^

  • @OneAndOnlyShocra it does take time..but im sure you/ll get it

  • Lovely... You play so beautifully!

But @Bioshockfan96 What is that supposed to mean, then?

  • Quam Serena =)

  • what a masterpiece. brilliant!

  • Thanks zeryx28 for posting the music sheet too It will take me long but im going to play it someday!!

  • i think ure really good but it sounds stupid ;)

  • mna ur great i love this song and ur almost like the original but it is a bit different :). but Elfen Lied is a great series and this song is wonderful :) i hope u make more like this one :D =, )

  • you make it look soo easyyyy!!

  • omg.. how?? i can only play the simple music box version.. :[

but do u know a tutorial for the part at 1:32 .. even if its the simple version. its my favorite part and i really wanna learn it :)

but anyway.. solid and beautiful playing dude

  • @PianoSavior Hey thanks. I'm not sure if you can find a useful piano tutorial for this arrangement as it is very complex (and I haven't seen anyone post one). If it is any use, you can find the score on my website, as mentioned in the video description. Best, Vincent.

  • such a beautiful song. I love it and you play it wonderfully. Im jealous ive learned only the first half and it's defiantly not as good. :)

  • @RabbidCupcakez Haha thanks. No worries. Keep practicing and you will eventually play it well. :)

  • i love this moar then anything

  • pretty hands :)

  • Beautiful arrangement!

I never have listened to the original, but this was beautiful!

I did watch a few episodes of Elfen Lied.

    It's a little wired.

    Great job!

    Happy Composing!

  • you play fabulous. i m going to learn this piece very soon. thank you for sharing.

  • You are the only one who plays the true version of Lilium on Youtube, and it is just as haunting and beautiful as the original. Thank you that I may also have the chance to learn this because of the MIDI you send me.

10 stars! And to my favorites it goes,

  • Wow . .

    Very good

    Thanks for all

I take the score and mid file :D

and I will keep practicing with your blog

  • Definitely one of the greatest versions on youtube!

    Congrats!

    =]

  • I envy your long fingers... You truly are good. Is this same as the one in your site?

  • @clee0351 Yep. With the exception of an additional note. Do you know where it is? :)

  • @zeryx28 i think i know which note!!!...ummits an F sharp

  • @PSNDemonwing Hmm nope. Want to guess again? I'll give you a hint, it occurs in one of the verses.

  • @zeryx28 Sorry, my mistake. I mean to say it occurs in one of the "chorus" sections.

  • @zeryx28 i could find it cuz ive been doing some stuff .....anyways i;ve noticed that there are some notes that you didnt play for example the F# in the sixth measure...and also in the eleventh measure you played the A twice before you played the chord of CAC

  • @PSNDemonwing Bravo! Yes, it is the repeated A at the end of the chorus. (The omission of the F# is a mistake on my part, haha.) The reason why I repeat the A in this performance is because I had accidentally left it out in the original arrangement. After studying the lyrics more closely, it appears the singer sings e-LE-i-son, and the A occurs on the syllable "LE." I feel like I should give you a prize for being so observant. Kudos!

  • @zeryx28 haha thanks:].....ive really been practicing this song and i have to say its really stretching my hands!...so many octaves is awesome!:].... and now i added that A that you said you forget to write so thanks.:]

  • @zeryx28 yeah i have the song down now:]....now the next song ima learn is going to be your new arrangement from FFXII!

  • @PSNDemonwing Awesome! Hope you upload a vid too. Can't wait to hear it. :)

  • @zeryx28 thanks..:] and just a random question..... have you ever been told that you have spider fingers?....lol.....cuz i have and my hands arent that big but i imagine you might have as well since your hands are specially made to play piano:)

  • @PSNDemonwing Ah heh heh. Spider fingers? Well yes, I suppose I have had people describe my hands as such.

  • hello vincent!!!! you are amazing - i think i watched this over and over again times 10. i m still practicing it =( you are too ging!! amazing!!!!!

  • @adriennetysim Hey Adrienne!!!! Thanks!! =) Lookin' forward to your rendition too!!!!!!!!!! lol ... so loud.

  • Finally, someone who pays attention to all the details and subtle chords in the back which fill all the vacancies in a song.

By far the best version out there, if I had to listen to a version without an orchestra it would be this.

Now as a guitarist my favorite part was 2:23 - 2:32.

    Again excellent man!

  • @MortaniusTaijou Thanks dude. And also thanks for featuring my video on your channel! :)

  • @zeryx28

Least I can do, your playing is awesome.

  • wonderful arrangement just sounded like the original

need to learn it too :p

  • Wonderful ...

Thank you very much for this beautiful response !!!

  • @Chiquicheeta My pleasure. :)

  • Wonderful performance. My favorite parts were 1:27 to 1:30, 1:44 to 1:46, and 1:58 to 2:01. This is the first video of Lilium I've seen where those parts were "correctly" played from the original song.

Once again, very nice. :) Keep up the good work, good sir.

  • @Zevali Thanks! It's great to hear that my viewers notice these little details. The hardest part in the process of composing this arrangement was to incorporate as much as I could of the non-melody lines, as this piece is originally an orchestra-accompanied art song.

  • @zeryx28

Those little details add up to become something awesome, heh. How hard was composing this, if you don't mind me asking? I'm not a very good pianist, but I still play the piano nonetheless and would love to learn about how you go about playing it and composing for it.

  • Composing the arrangement it wasn't that hard. When I speak of difficulty, I generally refer to the degree to which I struggle to identify harmonies, my tendancy to lose interest, and dilemmas of choosing which pitches to emulate. I had already a great interest for this song, so the process was quite enjoyable nonetheless. Playing it is just a matter of getting a feel for the connotations of the music. If it sounds emotional, play it emotionally. :)

  • awsome :)

  • Wow, that was great, once again!! You are really talented; thank you for sharing this talent! :-))

  • fantastic!

you really did a good job!

    y love this song

  • I'm so glad you posted this!
