  • Is this the guy who poisoned his kids to get attention?

  • My parents showed me this movie when I was like 10, it freaked me the fuck out. But now I want to watch this again!

  • Baron Münchausen was the Chuck Norris of the 1700

  • John Neville just died the other day at 84. Well done, Sir.

  • IS ONE PIECE INSPIRED BY THIS MOVIE!?

  • @yamisupersaiyan Van auger lol

  • RIP John Neville. 1925 - 2011. The Baron is dead.

  • @Aaron1912 Not its racist message for children , unfortunately, my dear Aaron . " Spain began to fall with the expulsion of the moors" Garcia Lorca. They tolerated well the christians, but not the contrary.

  • @Aaron1912 Alas, Baron Munchausen couldn't escape death forever.

  • munchhausen? xD

  • i love this flick....john huston is great....

  • WTF.... Uma Thurman looks hot...

  • @daymyth Uma Thurman pretty much always looks hot.

  • Terry Gilliam's masterpiece!

  • i had this movie on tape many years ago can you place it on youtube ?

  • "BULL... he was full of it." *shining tooth*

  • Its been a long time since I saw a good film with noise and gravity in it

  • such an under appreciated movie. wonderful! is the german silent movie of this available on here? i want to see it.

  • I love this movie. My favorite parts are when the Baron tells about his wager with the Sultan and when the gang meets Vulcan (the great Oliver Reed).

The worst part is when the Baron & Sally meet the King of the Moon(Sorry but Robin Williams is not funny)

The book was kind of hard to follow.

My favorite lines from the Sultan's opera

I'm a modern man these days I find.

You have to be awefully cruel to be kind

If you search long enough you could download the soundtrack for free. I did.

  • absolutely love this film, they don't make it like they used to,

I think it's lack of imagination

  • the closes thing to there ever being a live action one piece film.

  • s a truth history, they have the film from proved!

  • This was just a fun film.

  • A fine example of Mozart used correctly.

  • @rabidrabbitshuggers So funny :D if that was a joke... well it's funny anyway

  • @rabidrabbitshuggers This is not Mozart but Beethoven's 9th symphony, 4th movement.

  • @justaguy150 You're right! You'd think I'd know this, having performed it...

  • Yeah Awesome Movie I saw at a festival yesterday! with a couple of friends and we all really liked it!

  • .......a true history , we have got a film to prove it JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJa

  • @MIGUEL2005LIMA That is the best line....!

  • Awesome Awesome Awesome!! Monty Python and Robin Williams...

  • @trekkiexb5 the funny thing is that robin williams actually didn't credit himself as "robin williams" in the film, he actually made up the name "Ray D. Tutto" just a fun fact

  • ALL OF YOOOOOOU SHUDDUP!

  • It wasn't just a story, was it?

  • @Naikal1986

nowone knows, and nowone ever will

thats what makes this story spark.

  • @entoris476

it is the last quote of the movie...one of the most romantic movies i ve ever watched...

  • LOVED this movie, it has everything especially humor and fantasy!

  • what a crap...

  • Just me or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is pretty alike to The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen???

  • @malakus no way :) munchausen reminded me rather another movie - The FALL

  • @malakus Same director, Terry Gilliam. Haven't seen Imaginarium yet, so I can't compare at the moment.

  • Comment removed

  • @malakus Kind of. If you look closely you will realize that the director is the same, Terry Gilliam. Buy the way, he had a particular style that is on every movies that he make, and he could use his imagination to create the most unexpected adventures. This movie and Parnassus had nothing in commun in the story line, only the graphic style and the movie dinamic are similar. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them both. =)

  • @marisaelly Hi there, of course I did enjoy them so much... thank you very much :-D

  • @malakus it's good to see that are people that like this movie... =D I think that this film has been undervalued.

  • super

  • "bull" "he was full of it"...lol

  • This has to be the greatest classic movie I've seen, even as a child I use to watch it every time it came on TV. Love it!

  • i liked this film, but ppl online hate it?

  • @chiliconcarne2006 Who says that? Or, a more valuable question - what's your sources?

  • Great movie! One of my favorites from childhood. Terry Gilliam is truly a brilliant visionary artist.

  • Who thinks Terry made some brilliant fantasy movies in the 80's as a trilogy starting with Time Bandits, Brazil being the best of the trilogy and Baron Munchausen ending the series with a bang?

  • This is such an AWESOME movie

  • This film is an artistic masterpiece, although it was a financial disaster. Only the other day I mentioned it to my friends (who are all my age and I though may have seen it when it was released), and not one of them had heard of it. Such a pity.

  • Every Gilliam film is an artistic masterpiece. Though this is a particular favourite of mine ;-)

  • Well it's not a movie for everyone like Gilliam's other movies.

  • This is an awesome movie to watch stoned!

  • @12ddl I shall do that tonight!

  • Love this movie.

  • un pedazo de mi infancia en definitiva jejeje

  • About the same reason a guy's head flys off his body on the moon and how Munchausen and fly over a city holding on to a cannon ball.

It makes no sense on purpose :)

  • Ode to joy, part of beethoven symphony 9

  • can anyone tell me what the name of the music is i have an idea but i don't thinks is right

  • @FireflyFarscape1 ode to joy

  • yup

  • yo i saw this as a kid and always forgot the name of this movie but this is the shyt

  • This is one of my favorite movies! I absolutely adore Terry Gilliam! He's a genius in his own world!!!!

  • A buddy cop movie featuring a hard boiled veteran with Munchhausen syndrome, and an ambitious rookie with a Quixote complex.

  • Another example of really good experimental film making from the legend that is Terry Gillian

  • It's a good trippin' movie too :)

  • Does this have anything to do with someone being trapped inside a whale, finding a house and then the house falls apart and they are eating fish that have come into the whale n stuff like that? :P

  • me la acabe de leer esta bien buena

  • alegoricle?

  • I luv this movie !!!

  • This is one of greatest trailers of all time.

  • such a classic!!

  • this movie is often played of as a silly meaningless movie, but it has some rather deep alegoricle content. if you are unsure of what i am talking about i an help you make the judgement yourself. by far one of my favorite movies.

  • "...trust me, madamme... yor underwear is in very good hand..."

"...err.. is there a doctor in the fish?" --- "BURP!"

    SEAFOOD ..."hello -"

    must see this

  • This a good movie? Somebody can tell me why??

  • Ambitious, imaginative, uncompromised, audacious, and memorable. These are the words that describe not just this film but all great films.

  • I really like it. I think it's good because it's fun, has a great sense of humor, and you can easily lend yourself to caring about the characters. Imaginative. It's a bit silly. So, if you don't like silly--perhaps not. :)

  • @dannyboy2687 Because this movie alone can prove that imagination has no limits.

  • The irony being that Munchausen syndrome involved the victim telling very strange and outlandish lies

............................u expect me to follow u to the ends of the earth? yes!...............alright then

  • One of my favorite movies

  • ahh great movie heh

  • the reral munchausen wasa dude who tells wonderfull stories, and even lie a little bit, so thats it

    carl frederick varon munchausen

    this movie is great!!!

  • Why do they spell Honour without the 'U' ?

  • british english

  • the real one

  • Apparently this is the American trailer.

  • Oh yeah? Your founding fathers were gay britfags.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER

  • This was the fourth film about Baron of Munchhausen (or in correct German "Baron von Münchhausen"). The first one was a French silent film in 1911. All based upon about narratives I think every German knows. They are accredited to a German nobleman named Münchhausen who lived 1720-1797. First written down in 1761. About at least four of the approx. 100 stories it is known the real Baron von Münchhausen has told them to his friends about his adventures.

  • thats fantastic! u feel the need to comment on a movie that 1) was a giant feat for teery gilliam, 2) has most been told in a differnt way that most pple u know, know... and 3) not all pple hv the german history that u do... come on! how old are you? naratives make the stories...

  • This movie is awesome!!! Really really funny!

  • hahaha this movie is just classic

  • For some reason, Robin Williams scared the crap outta me in this movie...I still love this film tho, it's terribly underrated.

  • Is the flying head guy Robin williams? sounds/looks like.

  • Yes, he took over the role when Sean Connery backed out.

  • This story is in the computer game Azada

Magic. Look it up who has this game.

    methodistgirl

  • It is one of the most famous pieces of music ever. And it is called ode to joy by beethoven

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMDMA

  • i love this movie (:

  • has anyone seen this high? i highly reccomend it

  • i totally agree

well its a film that was for imagination and not logic which goes so well with weed

    lol

oh man i just watched it

and i'm too high to form a response lol

    great advice

  • I always loved this movie, GREAT!

  • My German teacher gave us a quiz on this movie once, haha

  • lol, bullet.......wtf, bullet

  • LAWL

  • I had weird dreams after seeing this film.

  • Watched it last night and now I hope to find it on DVD =D

  • does anyone know of a place to download the movie?

  • No, but you could just buy it for a few quid next time you're in any media shop :P

  • I JUST LOOVE THIS MOVIE...but the death scene always scared me a it when I was a kid

  • Such a great movie!! The death scene always freaked me out as a kid.

  • Wonderful movie. Peter Jeffrey is so funny as the Sultan.

    - Not yet? Is that famous?

  • ON TCM I JUST WATCHED THE ORIGINAL GERMAN LANGUAGE 1943 'MUNCHAUSEN". The comedy element is there yet not as thick. But the story and special effects are very much the same. Think of other similar films of that era, 'Wizard of OZ' and 'The Thief of Bhagdad'. I had no clue there was an original film. It was GREAT. Worth seeing if you like this remake.

  • I freaking love this movie.

  • @jonebyezz2 I know I really love this movie also. I taped it couple years ago. My favorite part that I like in this movie when they go to the moon. And how the little girl get that scary figure of a skeleton away from Baron. Hey did you know that the little girls plays in this movie I think she plays in the movie called Romana.

  • @klbates Yes, she's Sarah Polley. She's also in that new movie "Splice"

  • Hello...

    *Burp!
