I've had good luck with Total Home 3D. Sadly it's not at Best Buy anymore. Punch Software's Home Design is pretty good. I think I should go design my palace too.

No, it was done on Amiga 2000, which was later souped up with a 68030 accelerator board running at 40 MHz (used for generating this video).
