Frankly, I think Jim is a bit of a saint for putting up with Freddie, who, as amazing and talented as he was, it seems could be a bit of a brat at times. After reading Jim's book, I came away with the sense that he (Jim) worked his tail off at Garden Lodge during the years he lived there. I felt like he waited on Freddie hand and foot, bowing to his every demand, even before F got sick. At least Freddie left him financially secure and treated him to some of the luxuries in life . RIP Jim.

did he die of an aids related illness?Im not even sure if he had aids.Just seems strange that he was with someone who had aids and still went on to live another 20 yrs.im glad he did.im just curious about aIDS AND HOW LOG IT TAKES TO MAKE YOU ILL AND EVENTUALLY DIEseems some live a very long time and remain healthy. why do we never hear of aids anymore?Why has it pretty much stayed in the gay community and hiv users .At least in the us. but has spread to almost everyone in africa?

No, he had Lung Cancer, not related to AIDS, he had the HIV strain that doesn't mutate into AIDS.

Thank you so much for this heart felt tribute to Freddie's other half. I didn't know Jim, I read his book several times. He appeared to be kind, tender and honest. I loved that he loved Freddie and that's what mattered most. May they love together in heaven forever! RIP Jim...you are missed...I think of you often.

Thank you for the upload. I found it pretty sad. It just shows that times are changing with each death. I also thought that this was a cruel joke but I am now sad that people were not actually making a joke of it.

When I first heard about this, I thought it was some sick joke somebody was perpetuating, but I am now saddened to learn of the truth of Jim's passing. I bought his book several years ago, and his account of his time with Freddie was really touching.  It brought me to tears when he recalled the last few weeks of Freddie's life. You could tell those two had a deep, heartfelt connection to each other. God willing, they are now reunited in Heaven. God bless you Jim, and rest in peace.
