  • Awesome now I can put my strap on my guitar! Thanks myjacodog!

  • Is there any way to attach the strap underneath the neck with no drill ?? I'm too scared to screw up my guitar :( ! thanks

  • kay what if the guitar strap is really small? i tryed to tie it around the top but it wont tie. i dont get it

  • @TheArt0fSilence I don't know. Maybe a longer strap?

  • this helped me. thanks.

  • Where can I find a strap like the second one in the video, the strap with the loop?

  • @feeish it's one made for dobro/acoustic guitar by Levy's leathers

  • wau! this video is really helpful! Save my money instead!

  • why dont they just make acoustic guitars with 2 pegs?

  • little lengthy, but thanks

  • That's one ring he's got there

  • Finally! I can attach a strap to my son's guitar. Thankyou jac

  • i was like wtf wheres the other knob :D when i was a bout to attach it

  • Pause it a 4:31 and it looks like he's handing you a doobie.

  • I just wish he would have actually "attached" the guitar strap - perhaps at the very end to stand up with the guitar strapped to him. I've got a leather strap that is thin on one end and am not sure if I should have the wide end or the na(rrow end over my left shoulder. (I know - DUH. But hey, I'm a drummer trying to get more into guitar so give me a break)

  • awesome very much helpful great thanks alot

  • Glad that you found it helpful.

  • Glad it helped!

  • Very helpful thanks, now I can use my strap that's just been laying with my guitar for years. I saw the bottom button on the guitar, but didn't know where to tie off the other end.

  • great info, thank you so much !!! but just one funny note: aren't both guitars you're showing classical ones and not acoustic ? :p thanks anyway, great video

  • You might try a classical guitar strap. They attach at the sound hole (check out how Willie Nelson uses a strap).

  • Glad it's helpful (and that you're joking)!

  • Not to sound stupid, but my guitar has no button on the end of my guitar. Like, it has NO buttons. Is there any possible way i could still put a strap on it? Please reply :)

  • I SCREWED UP MY GUITAR CUZ I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO! jk, It's Very Helpful.

  • Thanks for your comments.

  • that's a wonderful video . i was really wondering as i couldn't find any strap button on the backside .but i wonder why manufacturer don't give that button when it is build

  • Thank you. I'm a novice and was wondering how to attach a strap. This video was so helpful. Thanks again.

  • Glad it helped you.

  • thank you sooooooooooo much

  • Thankssss!!! ha-ha I've been trying to get this on forever!!!!!!!!!! but mehh I'll stick with a shoelace thanks again!-HR

  • Glad it was helpful...

  • I thought you just said 'Sorry I don't have all the videos, this is just Canada' :)

    Nice video though!

  • when you tie a loop to the head stock does it affect the tuning?

  • Glad it was helpful.

  • thankyouu:)

  • Thanks man answered every question I had.

  • mkay?

  • I screwed up my guitar because I watched your video!!

  • @Ronald21215 Sorry that you had problems with your guitar. This procedure is something that you do at your own risk, as I state at 5:54 minutes into the video.

  • @myjacodog I think he was "joking" because that's exactly what you said.

    Thanks for the vid tho!

  • @BlackBird89460 He was joking....

  • @Ronald21215

If you actually do everything you see on the internet, that's your problem mate.

  • Great video with lots of good information - I was really confused about them having only one strap button at the end of the guitar.

  • Thanks, glad it helped

  • man, I've been playing sitting down forever and finally got the bug to stand at live shows. your tutorial here is definitely useful. thanks, Jim.

  • glad you found it helpful

  • I actually tie the shoelace around the first two knobs on the headstock, simply because if I have it right against the nut it interferes with my fretting. The only downside is I think it occasionally bumps one of the knobs and throws my guitar out of tune, but not often enough to be a pain. Not enough to start drilling holes in my baby! Thanks for the vid.

  • what guitar is that

  • Thanks for putting this up! I just bought my first guitar today, and could not find anywhere to put the strap. I almost wanted to go back to the music shop and yell at the guy for not showing me how to do this. Trust me when I saw I have looked everywhere on how to attach the strap. Should have gone to youtube first!

  • @jadedghost

Glad it helped. Welcome to the wonderful world of the guitar!

  • @jadedghost You do not just blame on others.

  • Glad it helped

  • nice video it really helped me cus i just got an electric guitar and it had two and my acoustic had not and i was like "wtf mate" but thanks. also why is the black acoustic rogue, ill take it off your hands, lolz

  • I Screwed up m guitar cause I watched your video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Just watched your video and want to say THANKS! Hopefully this will save me from being ripped off at the guitar shop....now if I could only find a drill....

  • Thanks for your comments and, good luck!

  • Thanks for the advice , I have been playing over a year now and only just bought my first strap today . Fixing to the electric Vintage V100 was obviously no problems but I came to You Tube when I realised there was only one strap button on my trusty acoustic . I almost threw that shoelace away just 5 mins ago !

  • Thanks for your comments. Glad you held on to the shoelace!

  • Thanks!

  • does putting the strap button there give a more solid in control feel. i put a dunlop straplock button on the back side of the heel. it didn't give me much control. also, what is the brand name of the strap w/the loop? thanx for any info. nice informative video.

  • I think that how stable it is depends on the guitar and where you wear the guitar.

The back side of the heel can be kind of thin on some guitars. It can work there, but the side of the heel is always a pretty safe bet.

The strap is made by Levy Leathers. The model # is PM-1.

Glad that you enjoyed the video.

  • That is a funky torqouise ring !!! I DIG IT!!! LOL!!! EXCELLENT DEMO!! PEACE!!!

  • Thanks. I've had the ring for 30+ years.

I bought it cheap at a roadside shop while on a family vacation out West.

It's hard to believe that I haven't lost it by now.

  • COOL!!!! Are U a wood chopper...I mean guitarist? LOL!!! When U say West do U mean like New Mexico area at a curio shop? Those are so COOL!! PEACE!!

  • It was actually somewhere in Oklahoma, I think.

And, yes, I have chopped wood and played guitar but not at the same time.

  • LMAO!!! PEACE!!

  • How do you put the strap on the bottom?

  • That would probably be a job for an experienced repair person.

The wood on that part of the guitar is pretty thin. It might split if you don't have much experience drilling that sort of thing

  • is drilling affect the sound of the guitar?..

  • Glad it was helpful

  • i found this very helpful. thank you very much.

  • I'm glad it helped

  • This was great! A friend loaned me his guitar because I've never really had the chance to play around on the guitar for very long. I decided I need to use the strap instead of trying to grip it so tight and was startled when I couldn't find another little knob to attach to the neck. This answered my question on how to do that (although it does look funny). Thank you!

  • thanks

  • You would think that most people would know something this simple. Let me tell you, right before I drill my guitar, I was very nerveous. After watching your video, I know exactly where to drill it now. Thanks for the guide!

  • I'm glad you found this helpful
