Very childish trying to confront him at a dinner. @musclesmalarky There are too many dumb things in that comment to even begin to address, so I'm going to keep this short. We've tried desperately for 5 weeks to get meetings with both Harker and Bernard Muir. We met with Muir once, but he gave no answers and only made the situation worse.

As far as our team not being good and nobody caring goes, well that is just not true. We've performed better than most of UD's sports in terms of conference placing and we have a huge community supporting us.

I noted a student at the table with Harker give the UD track section the middle finger and curse at them, that's awfully hypocritical to say the track members should act with more decorum....

Having seen the argument from outside the table, it is pretty obvious both sides got heated. The difference is the team has apologized, and the team is the party that has been hurt.. President Harker has not had anything taken from him, rather he has unreasonably taken a lot away from the team with the highest GPA at the school, also he did it hiding behind Title IX. The students have the right to be upset. Neither side should lose character, but the president acted infantile at best..

In our situation we need friends, not enemies. I would remind both of you though that respect is earned, and Harker has taken actions to lose him the respect of a large community. @violinchic520 Everyone deserves a certain degree of respect. Otherwise why do our court systems give murderous criminals respect in the court room? Why not just cuss all of them out as they enter and let people yell profanity at them. I might not agree with his decision but when confronting him, especially as a representative of the team I would still hold my diction to a court room level. I mean at the end of the day he still is the President of the school, liked or not.

Otherwise our society would become a disrespectful mess. The language used at the table towards President Harker was unnecessary to proving a point and could have been substituted for more intelligent diction therefore building up a stronger case against the President Harker.

It is really a shame those students there can't exactly understand what President Harker (and his staff) has done to this team. UD has hid behind Title IX, lied about "speaking with the affected athletes," and not returned calls and e-mails. The path to prominence is a joke, and I am glad this dinner was not just students trying to suck up to him because he needed to hear the truth and face those who he affected. Also a shame he couldn't keep his cool with a bunch of students.

Most awkward dinner ever... I sat on President Harker's right at the end of the table out of camera sight... Most disrespect I have ever seen towards our UD's president.... Its a shame students can't seem to give him the same respect he gives them even when they are at a disagreement.

The men's track and field here also is the only team to have about a 3.0 gpa average. President Harker may want to take that into consideration as well, before cutting more intelligent athletes.
