i just loooove how everyone who watches these videos suddenly went to med school xD...I had a staff infection that solved itself and I took care of the only wound (we're all guessing it was staff...or an infected bee sting or something)...as long as you use sterile equipment and make sure to keep it clean there should be no issue haha...the only reason half of these people would go to a doctor is because their too big of pusses to suck it up and do it themselves :P

There are other issues that need to be considered doing procedures like this that a lot of people won't know about. You can't learn EVERYTHING from the internet :) And I'm no pussy with shit like this, but I wouldn't risk gangrene and losing my arm because it seems easier and cheaper to do it like this.

@darkestnight128 I sort of agree with you. It amazes me how many people go to surgeons to do simple I&D of abscesses under general anesthesia. Do you research and know what you can safely do on your own. If it's a true cyst, you might as well go to the doctors to get the whole thing enucleated since there's a good chance it'll keep recurring if you just drain it and leave the sac in. For small abscesses, most people can drain them and the body should take care of the residual infection.

That type of cyst is too big to treat at home. You need a doctor to scalpel-cut it, drain it, clean it, and most importantly PROSCRIBE KEFLEX to prevent secondary infection. You're taking a big chance with the single needle hole on a cyst that big. It may not heal cleanly. You may have pus-pockets that remain as lumps in your flesh, to re-develop into cysts over time.
