Reason dogs are doing it :

It's a hunting instinct. Dogs don't want to smell like a dog to go with the pack (they are pack animals) on a hunt. They rub their scent glands (the sides of their cheaks) into smelly stuff (usually dead things) to make them smell different. Or, as domesticated the dog is today, they find a blanket or your couch to rub their face into.

@Javelinagirls my former dog did sprint around the house in circles too, occasionally on the way jumping up on the couch only to jump down as fast. I never quite understood the point of that fur draining technique

Seems they love the shower! Mine tends to jump in with whoever happens to be in the shower. Then she expects you to pick her up and put her directly under the spray.

awesome! mine to! i dont know why? my jr has allergies, and i think that it is soothing to there skin, and that might be the reason, however most jr's are wired all the time anyways, mine is ten and people thinks he is a puupy!

My jack russell pops wheelies around the house after a bath and he runs like crazy and he rubs him self on anything soft and dry.Oh and if you stand still he will to and he will look like he is about to throw up then you move and he pops another wheelie down the hall way.
