  • Great Version!!! Good Job Man!!! G Major of this anthem reminds me of Fenway Park!!!

  • How about another song altogether -- one that's actually about the country and not just the flag?

  • 1:51 is in B-flat, not A-flat! Actually A-flat isn't too bad for singing; a little higher than optimal but not drastically so.

What I'd really love to hear is an orchestral version in the key of D, with the lead trumpet soaring to the really high note at the end of "land of the freeee-EEEE". Also add in timpani to give it a bit of that lofty Baroque feel.

  • I love this guy. I am a proud member of the United State's Air Force and have had the distinct pleasure to honor America by our anthem all around the world but I must say g major is the best key for the masses to sing together...

  • Does the song shift keys? i noticed that there were some F#s in the beginning and towards the middle and end there are F's instead. Even the note before the high G is an F... so does that mean the song shifts from G to C?

  • @antixheroxsk8 There is no "high G" in this song, the highest note hit in the key of G is a D note.

  • dosen't he have better things to worry about

  • why is he a robot?

  • I'm confused. How does taking it from Ab to Bb lower it a little? That raises it a whole step! And then surely lowering it from Ab to G (a difference of only a half step) doesn't make that big a difference. I haven't checked the pitches in this video but when he's singing what's labeled Ab, he's a minor 3rd (three half-steps) higher than when it's labeled G. That would suggest that one of the labels is wrong -- either the first one is actually Bb or the second is F.

  • this was bad

  • The highest note in the song is hit once. The lowest note is sung at least 4 times. Lowering the key would pose a problem for many people.

  • that was pretty gay.

  • hahahahha

  • Slow. Down. Bro.

  • I'll be singing the National anthem tomorrow for our Commencement celebration at Palomar College (not far from Solana Beach, in fact), and I fully intend to sing it in G - people do like to sing along if they know they're not going to get hung out to dry at the end by that high note on "free," and if anything, there is nothing as moving as hearing a big group sing the Anthem as one.
