  • @Adamhistorybuff Because only British bands can properly play British marches - even an American like me knows that. There's a particular British march style that U.S. bands just can't imitate. We'll stick to Sousa so you can stick to Alford.

  • @Texijapi1010 But i am american :P

  • why does this sound like an american band did this? *cough* rush *cough* dynamics are carnie style *cough* *cough*

  • Damn! What's the rush? Can't even hear the clarinet obligato at the trio section.

  • love the intro

  • this is our x marching band song for buhach

  • I love play trumpet to this! The best instrument!

  • I love this march.

  • i love playing this piece while marching! go alto saxophones! :)

ps. absolutely love the crazy clarinet licks !

  • I wish I was 3 days younger so I could play this march....

  • Sounds great...until you have to play it in a brass band as the sop. That sop solo in the middle is a killer, especially when marching.

  • Being an American, it is really hard for me to play with that epic British style vibrato. After listening to this, I think I'll get it.

  • This is the last song in my school's parade march cycle, and my favorite

  • One of my favourite marches! As a french horn- player, marches are boring! But not "Army of the Nile"! I love this! :-) (And I still can play the french horn part...) ;-)

  • This is too fast. Its a british march. Ugh. ruined...

  • @davidsfa03 No, it's high-speed British march edition played perfectly. If you don't like it - tough.

  • I loved playing this at Valley Forge Military Academy

  • I played this song with the Royal Australian Air force band i can tell you it is literally a killer LOL..... but i LOVE IT!!! good old brit marches XD

  • I loved playing this in high school band, although I switched to euphonium the year AFTER we played it, so I missed out on the awesome solo. Everytime I listen to this, I somehow become energized. That's how a march should make you feel.

  • no one plays this better then the Royal Marines Band

  • Comment removed

  • what a coincidence, This was our march for my high schools band this year as well.

  • This piece was played at a polcie parade at hendon, nice piece

  • I love how this march actually has a horn part with minimal off-beats...

  • the beginning sounds like a cavalry call

  • I remember playing this when i was in high school. It was one of my favorite marches

  • Do all American kids have to do drill or something in front of the Stars and Stripes every morning?

  • No, where are you from?

  • ok

    im from england

  • One very great march!

  • I'm a member of a norwegian amateur symphonic band in Tromsø. We all love this march and music and play it every 17. May.
