There are a whole lot more motor-vehicle operators out there who reward the city of Madison with a traffic jam every day. How about making a buckystein movie about those people, who cause a hell of a lot more delay than CM does!
Tell you what, prove me wrong. Find people who were stuck in traffic by Critical Mass and decided to do more for bikers. Oh, BUCKYSTEIN is dead. My newest film is currently in production--ZVA: ZOMBIE vs. ALIENS about a Zombie (who rides a bike), his best friend and a dog fighting Space Aliens in the sewer.
What I can say is there are as many very positive responses to critical mass from drivers as there are very negative ones. Somehow, your video missed that fact. I am sorry you are so full of rage against critical mass. But I have a solution for you: joins us on the last friday of the Month at 5:30pm where West Wash meets Capitol Square and find out for yourself what it is like to ride! I will bet you enjoy the experience!
"Prove a negative? Pointless" Why, because you said so? I'm right. You cant find one person, who become an advocate for bicycling, because CM blocked them in traffic. And to take something ac cool as a bike and use it as a tool to waist fossil fuel is gross--be part of the solution not the problem. All youre doing is making SUV drivers hate bikes. If you love bikes, if you love the environment, and you want to live in a universe that is defined by common sense: dont ride with critical Mass.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The bottom line is your test is biased and really misses the point about why people choose to participate in CM.
I have frequently told riders in CM who ask "what message should we send?" to simply look like they are enjoying the ride, be courteous, and wave to people that see us. I believe that Critical Mass' advocacy value is as a celebration of the bicycle that attracts people with common interests. Try it yourself next month!
Wow, for bike terrorists you guys seem pretty cool. But let us be honest, given enough people, you would have rewarded the City of Madison Wisconsin with a snarling traffic jam—a city that constantly strives to promote alternative transportation. You really dont deserve to live here.
Every bicyclist who thinks CM is destroying the image of bicycling, should try riding CM. I'm sure they've given it the same thought as where's the nearest gas station so they can fill up their SUV.
