  • Thank you! Really liked the music, nice video)

  • why his acoustic guitar is overdriven?

  • @pabiQLLD because he uses both the overdriven and acoustic sounds. an acoustic with that overdriven tone sounds better than an electric guitar with an acoustic emulator.

  • such an amazing composition!

  • SCUMBAG FATHER? NY Daily News: Al Di Meola got three gold albums, but the guitar virtuoso doesn't want to pay a penny in child support for his 8-year old son, Kyle. Di Meola allegedly has visited his son only once, according tomother, Magda Barreca.Di Meola Productions rakes in millions but he claimed to have a salary of $49,000 in Family Court & defaulted on $122 per week payments. Di Meola has a $Multi-million dollar Colonial mansion in N.J., a condo in Miami, Land Rover & Mercedes SL 600.

  • @NYCConsigliere It's probably because his son can't play guitar.

  • E phrygian !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @totio94 really its in F# harmonic minor dude XD

  • this guy can read music better than text

  • does al di meola only use a pick or fingers as well?

  • @MrBumpoo13 only a pick

  • @MrBumpoo13 he uses a pick the majority of the time to articulate notes better but some songs like "Azzura" he plays with his fingers, preferring a softer tone

  • suck my axe man! :P

  • classic

  • To say this is an amazing musician would be an understatement...Wow

  • The beginning of this song makes me think that 'Baretta' is about to come on.

  • Al makes wonderful coffee.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 55 DISLIKES!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • the kings of guitar

  • Ovation guitar rules!!!!

  • I think he is both the best guitarrist and composer for that instrument. Astonishing how intelligent, complex but easy listening his music is if you know it. I have listened to his early work from around 1975-1978 know and then for more than three decades.

However his second album was even better and, believe it or not, his first solo album Land of the Midnight Sun must be one of the best LP ever recorded !.

  • @tevevid Same here, brother! I had the pleasure of seeing RTF live. Amazing stuff...one of the most memorable concerts I've ever experienced. Yes, those first two albums are in my vinyl collection and were on my turntable quite often. The man is a master.

  • THE most underrated artist!

  • I love how he just smiles at the end as if hes thinking "yeah im the best guitarist in the world what of it?"

  • Elegant Gypsy is the album.

  • hey please someone can say me the name of the album where is this song???

  • Comment removed

  • I need to learn how to play!!! I also need some instruments! This was inspirational. I'd love to give drums a try.

  • I remember about twelve months ago when he had a show planned for Canberra. I drove a long distance from my rural town only to find out the show had been cancelled. Needless to say, I was very upset. Never did find out why he cancelled. I imagine it was because not many tickets were sold due to the fact that a small tub of yoghurt has more culture than Canberra.

  • Epic.

  • I can't believe he joined RTF when he was freaking 19. What a brilliant musician.

  • Al demiola is the greatest ever luv it

  • That's great guitar work!

  • the drummer looks like MIKE TYSON!

  • regtrge

  • Is he using a Guitar Synth?

  • @cortx2lh No, he is the synth.

  • Awesome he uses a distortion pedal on an acoustic from 1:23 to 2:15 !

  • are these leather pants ?

  • i think al doesn't age

  • Sheet music??????

  • Influence on: Home - Dream Theater (Intro)

  • @Vodkanov94 I dont hear Home specifically but i hear the whole Album Metropolis part 2. Ya know? Like pieces of overture, dance of eternety, Home. Very interesting sound

  • eric clapton digivolves to..... AL Di Meola

  • wow,this is cleopatra's song... =D

  • al di meola!! capooooooooo!! tengo 19 años y mi papa hace 2 años me hizo escuchar a este gigante de la guitarra!!! un grande!!! gracias viejo por hacerme descubrir a unos de los mejores guitarristas de la historia!!!!

  • 53 dont like? This is pure Jazz Rock genre and more challenging art of all time, unfortunately, the music is dead because of TV and DJs who mix music teachers failed abortion and other abominations house metal musicians whose music has nothing to do see, these teachers and listeners should expect to clean the toilets.

Learn and study groups such as Wheater Report, Return to Forever, Brand X, UK. and a few others.

  • one day a man told me that Slash was the best guitarist ever and I told him nice joke

  • Uhm 12/8 for the win?

  • beautiful tone, just wish i knew the equipment he used

  • @BlindedinChains444 and what would you do with that knowledge? start being a copycat? or what? buying equipment will not make you as good as him.

  • thats music!

  • congratulations that yo teecha is on the drum set. You must be very awesome and smart.

  • Fantastic version of one of my faves by Al Di M.

  • HOLY HELL! WAS THIS SHOW IN ORLANDO?

  • Al Di Meola bravo:)

  • why its called egyptian danza ?!!!

  • @khaledlead Danza means dance in Espanol.

  • @bvried yeah dude i know that...but i wanna tell you that i am an egyptian :D and i dont see that this song related to the egyptian music or dancing :D !! so thats why i am wondering why they called it like that ?!!

  • @khaledlead Probably because of the stereotypical sounding egyptian stuff you would hear in movies (no offense to al's music this song is awesome though) Just sounds like Phrygian Dominant and alot of that raised 7th harmonic minor stuff. So it gave it an exotic feel and I guess that lead to that egyptian thing :S

  • and Italian

  • bello da sentire!

  • Thumbs up if Mediterranean Sundance brought you here!

  • phrygian dominant

  • AL Di Meola The Best!

  • Let the groove take you

  • @jaccor45 is the rumor that you are gay?

  • @odalanizi lol, nice

  • What guitar synth is he using with his Ovation?

  • I like this guy's style...more musically sound than Eddie Van Halen

  • Phrygian mode FTW!

  • @crosenbe phrygian dominant

  • @crosenbe The best

  • @crosenbe :DD

  • @crosenbe nice to see another person with some musical knowledge these days :)

  • @KelsoNfun Knowing Al Di Meola, he probably borrows from other keys as well. ;)

  • @PaybackTyme Thats for sure he knows too much not too :)

  • @crosenbe Sounds like a double harmonic scale to me.. not phrygian.. :O

  • Comment removed

  • @Masterboychris I noticed it was harmonic minor prior to what everyone this video are stating.

  • @TheEpicion For some reason I doubt it's a harmonic minor scale..

  • @crosenbe add a #3 and you have my favorite scale!

  • @ironwolg Yeah man ! I love the phrygian dominant scale too !!! especially if you add a #7 from time to time

  • @TheGumboVariator i'll have to try that one

  • Comment removed

  • Phrygian modes FTW!

  • I don't know why, but I'm getting a picture of Omid Djalili dancing to this. Make it stop! Make it stop! I sure would liked to have been at this concert!

  • @chuckbyf1 Thanks. now you have me seeing it.

  • Let's hear it for another great Italian....Al Dimeola!

  • @curunduraj Yeah, DiMeola has the Paganini syndrome. Same as Petrucci, Vai, Satriani, Impellitery, Bratta, DeMartini et al. What are you feeding these guys over there in Italy!

  • I love Al di Meola, he's nuts - the good way - love his music to bits but just to please my ear (and he ain't writing music for me is he? lol) he could just a tad bit slow down with the complexity - we all know yer a genius - now hold a rhythm for a bit :)

  • Al Di Meola is a magician on the strings. His tone, speed, and feel are second to none. It's always a pleasure hearing him play the guitar. This is a terrific tune. It's so exotic and full of passion.

  • Beast :)

  • Very inspiring! Di Meola is a genius!

  • wow, how he does it? 00

  • This sounds as excellent as the more sparse original. The orchestration really fills out the sound and gives it much more textre. It must be tough, even for a master like Al D. to "not" play certain parts and allow the piano, etc., to fill in some parts that he'd been playing as a continuous song for years and years!

  • came straight to here from the furry rabbit clan myself

  • I'm glad I watch TheFurryRabbitClan or I might have missed this gold mine! :)

  • Better than Lady Gaga crap..

  • it is very coool solo egypcian

  • Thank you so much for sharing.

  • The GodFather of fusion ... proof positive of the intrinsic regenerative life affirming properties instilled within the ebb / flow of musical dedication .. 528Hz especially.

Life , she is chordal . dig .

  • OMFG!

  • I think he's lip-sinking

  • Amazing, he's getting Santana tones with a fricken acoustic?! An Ovation!?

  • il miglior chitarista al mondo

  • why doesnt he just play electric guitar and make a prog band....

    wtf?

  • @Utubesuxmycock "why doesnt he just play electric guitar and make a prog band...."

He was in the epic Fusion band = Return To Forever = one of the BIG 3 Fusion bands of all time - Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report being the other two. Starting a Progressive Metal band would be going backwards from a musical perspective. What he should do is stop playing these dainty little tunes and stick to the balls out speed/alternate picking thing he did with Paco and McLaughlin...

  • I like his touch...is amazing...but Stochelo Rosenberg is better...i can't stand fusion...

  • .. and you are an idiot, i told meistromac91 to go have a listen to lady gaga claiming that his musical fortitude can only handle something as pathetic as such.. when did i call al di meola shit? i hate stupid people like you.. must be nice..

  • i need moar.

  • very good but he's no tommy emmanuel

  • @gubepro and i bet tommy emmanuel sucks enormous monkey cock compared to

becker, romeo, yngwie, vai, greg howe, guthrie govan, etc etc etc

he sucks all their cocks simultaneously

  • Am i the only one who thinks that al di meola looks like a raper???

  • He just blew my mind! Again!

  • hey it was very colourful peace of music very Egyptian. I thought it was grroovy first Al di Meola song ive ever heard

  • Waw, this is really artistic!

  • Maravilhoso, virtuoso, inspirador. A música não tem fronteiras.

  • fucking nerd. This guy is technical to the extreme. to the point where his music isnt even interesting or fun to listen to anymore.

  • @MeistroMac91 No. not at all. just stfu

  • @dTbFan72 hahaha aww dont be mad just because I highlighted some great points and u have nothing.

  • @MeistroMac91 Lawl. Troll xD

  • @MeistroMac91 go have a listen to lady gaga noob

  • @jeffclarkemusic I dont listen to either al di meola, lady gaga, or any mainstream bull shit. I listen to real music like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Megadeth, Kreator, Spastik Ink, Mozart and Beethoven.
